I believe that's actually the attack on the chorus and/or reverb effect that was applied to the synth. It would sound the same each time that first note was pressed, but you can't hear it on the other parts due to interference with the other tracks and sound effects playing at the same time. This is why I love instrumental versions. You pick up on tiny details never really heard before.
No1 mentions how this is the 1st true G-Funk beat, before Dre left Ruthless he was already on that sound...Cold187UM was never on dre level not then or now, only DJ Quik was on Dre level
Yella & Dr Dre made a unstoppable production team
lol.. if yella did anything. 😂
@@FacetiousUniqueness yella contributed tons...stop hating boy.
@@Godloveszaza Yella said that Dre was making the beats and yella did the mixing of the songs but idk if they did that all the time
@@FacetiousUniqueness😂😂😂
This beat has to be top 3 of all time
What are others

I love how the sin wave synth that starts up again around 2:33 has a little bit of imperfection to it, like it got nudged when it was starting

its the sound of the scratch that made it sound like that
Literally my favorite part of this beat, crazy u pointed it out. I feel like Dre did something a lil extra special to begin his verse

Supermega dope as classic was gold. Put platinum on NWA and ruthless 4 life on the map. Beats are fire exposed. Man
This was first time I heard the high pitched synth from dr Dre … it was so awesome! And became his signature sound transitioning into the chronic era

Yella is an underrated producer
Was Yella producing with Dre? Wonder how it went down then.
@@FiredtoFreedom Dre and Yella were like a duo
