Hi Yashraj, I’m currently a Psychiatry core trainee. I’ve got another 2 years of that, and then 3 years of psychiatry specialty training until I’m a consultant :) hope that helps - I’ve done a video about psychiatry in the UK and how it works if you wanted more information!
Re: your comments on seclusion. It's basically an arbitrary decision made by the senior RN. Sometimes, they get it right, sometimes they get wrong and sometimes the coroner has to investigate. The Policy Directives are not followed, putting patient lives at risk but hey as long as staff can give someone who is pissing them off an IMI, who cares?
Seclusion should always be well thought out and only used once all other avenues have been explored. It should never be used as a punishment or for any emotional reasons at all, and I’m sorry if that has been your understanding or experience of them.
@@ScanningTheMind Thanks for your reply. I find your clips informative and sometimes humerous. I have been put through physical restraint and seclusion which was probably the worst experience in my life.
I feel like I’m going to end up in one of these. I’ve been bounced around from primary care, to charity, to charity, back to primary care and now they’re sending me somewhere else. I asked to see a psychotherapist years ago and now I’m back at the start of the circle. A four and a half year circle. My psychiatrist is terrible, but in mid powys my options are one and it’s crap. I feel so sorry for anyone that struggles with their mental health in this country if their support has been anything like mine. Terrible. You seem nice enough, but getting to speak to you guys…? I’m more likely to end up with a criminal record than proper mental health care, and I’m not even criminal 😂. This country scares me.
Very informative. Interesting to see how different they are from medical on calls ….
They’re more different than you could ever imagine 👀
