    3mm PVC sheeting works great as basing material. use construction adhesive, and adhesive tile grout for adhering to PVC

    I like how you blended the 3D printed stuff with the rocks, very cool

    Love this project!! Would definitely look at home on a Star Wars (or even Halo) gameboard!

    There is a much better cut off blade that works wonders even on 1/2 inch MDF. It is a large metal disk and comes in a separate kit for just a few bucks.

    Nice work! Very cool and there is a surprising lack of many necron terrain vids

    A Scroll Saw also works extreamly well, very neat. but they are limited in operational range due to the machine well, and the baldes can be a little delecate if your not cearful, but their acuracy and finish cant be beat.

      @@hauntswargaming good to hear it 🙂. My cron terrain is very basic and lacking in comparison so your setup definitely gives me some great ideas to convert or add upon.

    Great ideas! You could try Foamex or similar extruded PVC “sign board” for the bases, it’s used for signage and displays. Any local display/exhibition/signage company will probably have loads of offcuts they’ll be happy to give you for free. A4 and even A3 and above scraps are no use to them but perfect for us as terrain builders! It’s relatively non-warping, very lightweight, rigid yet cuts easily with a utility knife or hand saw.

    • @hauntswargaming
      @hauntswargaming  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's an interesting idea! I'll have to see if I can find a place that would do that.

    That looked fantastic! Really happy I've discovered your channel. It's enjoyable to watch, neat seeing what you've done, and KITTY!
    Btw, speaking of grandpa's old rocks, I'm wondering how it would look if you tried adding in some extra colours (e.g., blues, reds, etc.) as one of the drybrush layers. I figure the washes would mute it down; maybe an alternate idea for the future?

      Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
      Idk if you watch Black magic craft, but I really like how he uses patches of color to add character to terrain. It's something I'm still learning to do well, but I plan to use more inks in future projects. They are pretty great.

    I’ve just found your channel and your videos are very entertaining. Also, I love the music selection, very refreshing considering other channels just put on shitty EDM or nothing at all over the speed building parts. Cheers!

    The material you are using isn't MDF, but is actually is called hardboard, it is a paper based material, so cutting is going to be with power tools.

      Thanks for the comment! I did realize that after going into the hardware store shortly after posting this. I think I mentioned it in my spore mounds video :p and power tools are the way to go for sure.

    I've got mixxed feelings on this video. It solved a couple of problems I was having and also frusterated me to no end; so I guess I'll follow the instructions at the end: I'll like and subscribe both because I liked the video and because I hated it?

    looks AWESOMe, but the " i built" videos where its 3D printed is kinda killing the home built stuff off. its more like kit bashing, ok yes it has to be built, but the bits are already made. its a kit bash, yes a cool one, but 3D printing custom stuff is really killing off the home built craft these days, at least on youtube, everyone is getting 3D printers.
    does look awesome though!

    • @hauntswargaming
      @hauntswargaming  ปีที่แล้ว

      I get what you're saying. Most of my projects don't lean this heavily on 3d prints. I try to upcycle as much as I can. If you watch my studio tour video you'll see how much trash I have horded lol
      I actually plan on doing some content around this topic. I don't want to elaborate on that too much :p
