Really enjoyed it, but the church you pointed out as the parish church is in fact a Church of Scotland, the parish lies behind it next to the walls. The cromwellian parish church has no spire and so can be overlooked!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you so much for the information! You're absolutely right, it's easy to overlook the other church just as I did, but I'll pin your comment so that everybody can see. Thanks for the correction and Merry Christmas :)

My name is Piero, I am 71 years old, I live in Tuscany, (Italy), in the summer period (1968-1969) I lived from June to September in Berwick upon Tweed, working as waiter at The Castle Hotel, which is located near the train station. I remember Diddy Lucy Edward Pokora, the Roselli family who ran the coffee shop Arlequin, Tony Corvi and his wife where I ate my first fish and cheeps Kathleen Robson, Mr Todrick, Mrs Mac Lauren, I was 18, when I first saw Berwick. Great video. We used to live in Berwick and this walk took us right back to that time. A walk we have done some many times. Berwick is a great town, with so much history. I never know why it is not so much more often visited, as it has so much to offer.

I just discovered this video, and your channel yesterday. It is a fantastic, and informative video. I've subcribed and look forward for other nice ones like this one! Oh and by the way, the back and forth history of Berwick-upon-tweed, between Scotland and England just makes it that much better! 😂

Thank you so much for watching and especially for subscribing - do stay tuned for more videos every week, including from Northumberland and maybe even beyond the border :)
Its a very beautiful landscape around Berwick and i like little towns like Berwick upon tweed ! Thank you for the video and a first time look into this impressive landscape at the North Sea !

What a lovely video! I enjoyed every step of the way and really appreciated your historical insights. I found you thanks to one of my recent subscribers who, as luck would have it, is from Berwick and who mentioned this video in a comment on one I just uploaded yesterday in which I do a similar sort of walking tour of my neighborhood here in the US. In any case, good luck to you!

I’ve enjoyed all these walks usually on a brighter day with the sea air , and in the 50’s came to Berwick Fair with my Granny when the Marygate was bustling with stalls and people. Sad to see the empty shops .
Thank you so much! I'm sorry that the shops were shut and that it was a bit grey on this day, but as you say Berwick can be a wonderfully bustling place, and an absolute delight to visit :) Thank you so much for watching - I do hope you enjoyed this video!
It's a gorgeous place! And a great way to say goodbye to England as you cross the border into Scotland too :) Thank you for watching - I'm really glad you enjoyed the video!
More memories, stayed in Berwick a few years ago in a hotel you walked passed, it was the last in the row on the left near the station and opposite the Kwik Fit garage. We walked the Tweed bank from the town to just before the railway bridge then up some steps that came out just before the station and near the hotel. We’ve also called for a stop there many times on our way back from numerous trips to Scotland, unfortunately the car park you passed on the right was either full or the spaces available wouldn’t fit our large car so we started stopping at the supermarket just off the A1 on the way into the town.
I'm sure you had a great time in Berwick, and the area of Tweedmouth where the Morrisons supermarket is also has a lot to see if you're ever up there again - it's a fascinating area of the country :) Thank you so much for watching - I'm really glad you enjoyed the video!
I commented on the walk around Lincoln video and mentioned my family links to Lincoln, this upload then popped up in my feed which is a bit strange as it's the other big part of the tory of my family history. An ancestor was a coastguard and posted to Berwick in the 1840's, initially living across the river in one of the shorehouses at Spittal (and I can see there's a Tweedmouth video too so I'll check that one out), the family moved to Hide Hill Even more strange is the fact I knew nothing of my family history when I moved to Coldstream not that far from Berwick. Much like the Lincoln footage you passed right by where my ancestors lived and worked (and looked out at places I've worked myself).
Very much so! And a truly unique town Berwick is too, what with all its centuries of conflict and changing nationality! Thank you so much for watching - I really hope you enjoyed the video :)
