    We should actively force the Government of India (whichever party is in power) to reject these genetically modified crops, vegetables and anything we put on our plates. We need to reject pesticide spraying on crops and support organic farming.
    Increase msp for all crops and vegetables so that the farmers are incentivised for adopting organic agriculture.
    We need to promote local seed varities. Thank you Vandana Shiva for this informative episode.

    Thank you m'am as always in the strive to make aware of the harmful and toxic food security measures present prevalently around the society these days. I request the team at Wire to bring forth more info in relation these subjects into the mass, as m'am has clearly indicated .
    I have one question:
    If you can please, I am from Surat,
    How can we the young minds, begin to grow our own food (indigenous/heirloom/open pollinated)right at home whether rural or urban, because to begin even just making our own compost, because the food that we get from the market were grown in pesticide ridden land,
    Therefore for the urban individual is there a way for an to source from community of farmers that follow natural farming principles and then maybe begin to grow his/her own food ?

      In Gurgaon there are people who rent very small tracts of land in agricultural plots and hire someone to grow organic vegetables for them. Some people pool in and do this as a group.
      There are also some consumer cooperatives that find organic farmers in their region or across the country and procure food items from them regularly. Some volunteers from the cooperative go and test the soil in these farms regularly for pesticide residues to make sure it is organic. Some members of the cooperative grow their own veggies at home and seek the excess to the cooperative.
      Thirdly, if you want to do it only for yourself and your family, there are plenty of terrace gardeners and vegetable gardeners that share information and tips online. Just search on TH-cam.
      You can choose any of these three options

      Everything is infested buddy. Even the system, all capitalism based. Although we can argue that capitalism is the reason democracy exists, but at what cost... We can either live like a tribe in Africa by letting go of all material things or else just mingle with artificial plastic and metal based modern world. We can never enjoy best of both worlds. This is the irony of modernity. We will for eternity be dependents even after 10000s of years. It's just getting worse and worse. Children and grandchildren of today's generation will suffer the most as 99.9999% humans exist to serve for their 0.0001% masters as slaves and servants.

    I may be allowed to add, "farmers be strong" . How do farmers going to be strong if their produce is not supported by govt. The banyas as till date will again suck the farmer dry. It is only the green revolution that has brought msp that resiliently stands with the farmer to shield him from the banya.
    And green revolution ,i wonder if it maybe correct to say it was a marketing act.Green revolution came to india because of the chinese invasion. Usa is the sworn enemy of communism,and therefore usa came to india's help and support a standing army: Operation shiksha if you remember? And for a sttanding army you have to have assured stock piles of food. That is the history of advent of green revolution in india. Subsequently,all the related markets also arrived fertilizer s , weeficides, pesticides and human medicine for the diseases that these organophosphates generate
    These pesticides were originally used by usa army in the millions of tons to defoliate vietnam junges and shoot the vietcong by the time i came back from the army in 1968.
    The impact of these pesticides and weedicides can be seen to day in vietnam in diseases,and even mutation of human genes children born without limbs,eyelids sealed etc
    And ever since these same organophosphates we are spraying on our lands by choice
    We also have a weakness we like things which are phoren than those which are indian. We like to give our babies lactogen etc than god's own given to the mother.

    First control population of india
    Then think about organic farming
    Iam respect you mam and reporter
    But first of all every news channel talk about population control
    Follow antinatlism and minimalism and stay chidfree

    • @gods-best-friend-gbf
      @gods-best-friend-gbf หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly. Population control is a Must. Overpopulation will kill not only India's economy, but eventually rest of the world will also suffer the brutality of the same. Humans will certainly go extinct whether we control population, minimize it or even maintain it.

    She is what you called "living in a imaginary world". Does she know how many people die every year of hunger? Every day of hunger ? It's all for her easy to say live without pesticide, live without fertilizer, it can be stopped overnight, but the world will plunge into hunger. First she should provide alternatives, organic farming is fine but productivity is not enough to feed 8 billion people. This is not 1800s.

    • @drjagritisingh6569
      @drjagritisingh6569 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Dude you don't have to go overnight like sri lanka. Our sikkim state is already fully organic ,we already have data .and we can promote canning of fresh produce as you can see a lot of produce gets waste and rotten due to lack of storage for farming produces.canning keeps produce fresh without preservatives. We should forego chemical fertilizers slowly, it is not only harmful for humans but in long way takes away fertility. Investing in biotechnology( plant based proteins and vegan milk) and canning factors will definitely help in cutb up the price.we have to make agriculture profitable but not at the expense of the framers and farm laborers. Our government never opened agro based factories so that agricultural laborers could switch. Our government promoted claws beneficial for big business owners not even small pr medium ones.

    One thing her products are way too expensive. Ok I just want to ask because I am confused, is Cottonseed oil in India GM. If yes then when all Confectioneries and Halidirams are using it and by cunningly targeting palm oil. Because from what I know Palm oil is more expensive than Cotton seed. As per existing govt laws GM food is not allowed in India but these business are pushing from backdoor. Also did she voice against govt decision to introduce GM nustard. I dont know her andolan is not making much difference but has only created categories and helped businesses only capitalise from existing confusion by creating another product line and selling them at premium, just like ghee and all. These people only instill fear but do not work towards solution whicu negotiation and talking to exiting govt. Today yii have Savory items made in cotton seed oil sold at normal rates( they do not even mention the oil just a group pf oils) and then groudnut which isnused as marketing strategy to sell their product at a higher cost.
