    thanks for the cap packs. I must say they are very professionally done. I give you five stars on these. love them and more than I expected. I tested them on my speed car first running 8s. I checked my data logs after and got 0 ripple. you are a man of your word. I am officially putting them on my 200mph speed car project!!!!

    4:32 unless your holding it on so long that the wires come unsoldered from the esc you are not even close to damaging it. how you you think the power wires were attached to the esc?

    So the wires on the cap can be long just as long as they are soldered close to esc right?

    Can I ask what Diameter solder you use as well as what flux you use? So many of them and not sure which to get.

  • @InnovationRC
    @InnovationRC 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    you make soldering seem easy as heck. I noticed you mentioned to use Flux in regards to not having a powerful soldering iron. I don't use any, nor are my solders quick.
    what Flux do you recommend? I'm always keeping my iron on wires for more than 7-10 seconds

    • @killmoderc6815
      @killmoderc6815  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dang, I've had this same bottle for so long, I don't even remember the brand, and the label is worn off. just get a liquid flux, not the paste, and just use a tiny drop on the wires. it heats up so fast.

    A cheap trick for large gauge wires that works for me is to use one of those large thermal mass 100W irons designed for lead lighting. I was soldering XT-150's one after the other and it was the only way I could production line them without getting cold solder joints. Nice data on the packs. Might try the large 50V one on my 5th scale. Have you any plans to develop lower Voltage rated packs for sizing in 10th scales? I would be interested in 25V rated packs for my 4S 10th scales.

    what's that pack used for? tho i don't do speed run's will this thing still help my esc out even if it run's very cold?

    wich packs would you recomend for a 8s setup. working on a project with 2 2028 castle motors with 65t pinions. my total would be 16s with 2 separate esc's and power connections.

    question kill mode rc, is there a T-connector or a Y-connector female open ended termination bullet connectors available for this specific jump/piggy back solder connection to ensure a positive locking & clean solder job? would be nice if maybe some1 can geniusly come up with a T or Y 5mm,6mm or 8mm bullet connector idea for a 8,10 or 12 amp wire gauge. just my mind wandering or simply wishful thinking.

    • @killmoderc6815
      @killmoderc6815  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      not sure, I like to solder a castle 6.5mm polarized pigtail to the esc, so I can remove the cap pack easily without unsoldering them.

    Nice video! I've got a similar walk through in my "Lost Videos" editing backlog, but I think you actually did a better job showing good soldering technique. Would you mind if I make a card linking back to this video once I get around to posting mine version? You'd be surprised how often I get questions from guys asking about proper soldering technique or soldering tips.
    You seem like a good guy, so I don't mind supporting folks who have a similar mission. Keep sharing good knowledge and you will have a friend at RC Physics.

      rhouse21 - RC Physics that would be great! I've been watching your videos for a while. I've learned a lot. I'm always learning, and always sharing!

    • @RCPhysics
      @RCPhysics 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's very cool and very rare these days. A lot of folks try to hoard all of their knowledge to get an edge over "the competition." However, I've found that teaching and answering questions forces you to gain a deeper understanding that helps you perform better. We all have our "trade secrets", but I like seeing people in the RC community helping each other move forward. :-D

      rhouse21 - RC Physics Totally agree! I've actually been in the process of starting to host some events here in my area. Everything from novice up to the big dogs! Fun for all .

    a bro what do the cap packs do to your esc

    • @killmoderc6815
      @killmoderc6815  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      cap packs reduce ripple voltage, and esc temperature. This also extends the life of the esc by taking stress off the ESC's internal capacitors.
