    Too anyone who wants to do this, the clutch lever has a sensor on the newer models just below the clutch lever. If you attempt to take the lever off without removing it from the bottom, you will snap the guide in half and the bike won't start while the clutch is pulled in gear, I learnt the hard way!

      @dynamotightstar3472  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine has the sensor too.

      @@dynamotightstar3472 I didn't see you remove it, because when I tried to get the OEM lever out it wouldn't come. I thought there was another bolt I needed to remove but I couldn't see anything. Tried every angle, eventually I just gripped it because I thought it was catching on something and it ended up snapping. You didn't mention that in the video unfortunately 😂 but I've ordered a new sensor since they are cheap enough.

    My 2022 Duke 200 has something holding the lever in. A little plastic piece that I can't get out. Any idea how to do that?

    Nice levers m8 ! But you really do not want the brake lever to be blocked/binding by the plastic switchbox body, it might limit how hard you can brake. Take into account that brakes may fade if you drive aggressively so you'd need to squeeze the lever harder to compensate - and then it could become a huge safety issue... You can not twist that black box alone, but you can twist the whole handlebar forward - with an added bonus that it would also make the riding position better if you are tall - then you just twist the brake lever assembly up, so in the opposite direction to the way the handlebar was adjusted - and that would change the angle between the brake lever and the black plastic box, getting more room there and no binding. You would need to adjust also the clutch lever angle but it would also remove any binding on the clutch lever side. Then it might also help to set the brake adjustment to "3" or "4", that of course depends on how big are your hands...

      Apologies but I'm not getting notifications through for some reason. Can't work out why but they are usually a week late of I have to manually check. Levers were fine whilst I had the bike. The only time I had a real issue was when the mirror fell in between the throttle and the brake. That was scary as hell!

      Hey, you've got several options but the common ones are Midwest Mountain Engineering lever and Clarke One Light Clutch lever. Neither are cheap but they are very good. I don't know if they have every bike available but you'll find both online if you type in the names above.

      @@dynamotightstar3472 Mine are some adjustable levers, they came with the bike cuz i bought it 2nd hand, they are weirdly shaped like... they pull away from the handle instead of paralel to it or even torwards it....they are kinda similliar to those ones you have, but adjustable, and my finger lenght is short so having to reach them makes me move my hand on the handle, wich can be hard, kind of a newbie rider here.

    I know it's been a while but I'll shoot my shot:
    Today I tried to swap me clutch lever and the damn guide bolt just keeps spinning in place. I held it with a socket while I tried to unscrew the phillips side, and all it does it spin inside the nut... it doesn't tighten or screw down - is it cross threaded perhaps? Clutch sensor is fine because I gave up and it back together and bike starts up just fine; guide bolt isn't sheared either.

    • @dynamotightstar3472
      @dynamotightstar3472  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, sorry to hear that. Try levering the head of the bolt away from the nut and then unscrew. You may have stripped the first thread only.
      I would try getting thin needle nose pliers under the bolt head and then use a socket to undo the bolt.

      @@dynamotightstar3472 hey bud, so I managed to get it off but it took me almost the entire day! The guide bolts thread was completely stripped on the underside. I had to grind to top part thinking I had to hammer it from top to bottom, but it was the other way around. Even then, I tried to hammer the leftover pin from bottom to the top, and since the threads were so stripped, it didn't want to budge unless I gave it a hefty smack. Eventually it did come off but man did it make me work for it 🤣
      I grinded a biggee hole, greased and threw in a 10mm bolt with a nut on the underside with a couple washer and it's even better than stock.

      Well, they were pretty amazing to be honest. Especially when you consider the cost vs KTM official levers.
      Now, I did have a really scary moment with these levers but it was due to the sh#tty mirrors I installed. The mirror rotated forward and wedged between the bar and brake lever. I was doing about 90mph and lost my front brake whilst approaching a roundabout. Yes, I nearly died.
