I loved that 1/2 mile dirt track. I drove about 70 miles to see it. I remember when there was no outside retaining wall in Turns 1 and 2. The high groove was the fastest. It was exciting to watch the divers run a Darlington line around the trrack. Occasionally somebody would slide right out of the track, and dive back on the track in Turn 2. Good times. Those were the days. I remember my grandpa and I going to Cherokee speedway every weekend without any doubt, we were going to the races. My finest memories and best times as a child were all there. T&L was and will always be my favorite division. Go night stalker! Thanks for sharing the old time great racing footage Mitch Sill. Takes me back to wonderful times and I love showing my daughter the racing that we used to see as well as my hero's.

I didn't realize it at the time, but I was watching the best dirt track stock racing the world would ever see, imho. I hate to say it, but I don't think I will ever see racing like the T&L class again.
