I'm having a Sliding Doors moment watching this video. 25 years ago I turned down a job offer at Heidelberg as a Control Engineer, and accepted a different role elsewhere. I wonder how life would have turned out differently had I taken it? Certainly designing the machines that printed poker cards etc would have been a part of it. Heidelberg do some amazing machines: you can basically throw an oak tree in one end, and out pops a bundle of Cosmopolitan magazines at the other! 😄

Im picturing the "plastic" cards are likely nothing more than paper cards that are laminated with a just slightly thicker clear vinyl plastic for sturdiness after the printing part but before the final cut.

1) criar a arte, exportar em PDF com sangria e margem de segurança
2) fazer o fechamento do arquivo, no Preps, InDesign ou semelhante
3) dar saída para o CTP, gravar as chapas, talvez nesse caso aí como a tiragem deve ser grande, fornear as chapas
4) passar no verniz, refile intermediário, faca e troqueladora
5) separar as cartas e embrulhar

In Thailand, the production of playing cards are monopolised and only the Excise Tax department can produce them. They have their own printing press which produce various types of security printed matters including playing cards.

What happens to the sheets that do not meet specifications? I personally would enjoy some sheets and/or decks of them.
They get destroyed no doubt. Imperfect cards must never leave the factory, especially if the imperfections are on the rear of the card.

The process is overall really impressive, especially with the crushed finish, but any novice playing card collector can see that what they're manufacturing is a shameless knockoff of USPC's "Bee" No. 92 Casino Back playing cards. One of many instances of how China has a blatant disregard for foreign Intellectual Properties.

When I was a student I was expelled from a school that was run by priests for playing cards and listening to metal
If just the Corner in Middle a nice size, then it is already fair, they cant make believe like looking at spectacle(reflection) to know "what card" kind of "cheat expert exist as a skill", or needs of "some special cheater check". Without pictures at all.
