Playing my first season pro this year and have been watching your videos religiously. Thank you for breaking down all these concepts i feel like just by adding the IQ to my game has changed it drastically. Looking forward to your next post!
This is why I do what I do! Really encouraged reading your message. Good luck as you finish up year 1, and please let me know how I can continue to add value.
@thefilmroom1 not gonna say I will make it likegpac has, my goal is to be high amateur level. But i really appreciate your work and what you do. Most people have this info behind a paywall and you really just give us a chance to do it without spending money on random programs. I hope one day some dude makes it to the nba and offers you some kind of dream job or whatever out of appreciation. I feel very grateful to you sir.
This reminds me a lot of the Mind the Game Pod. Thanks for the break down. The play is actually really hard to stop, because of all the room that the roller has.
@@TheFilmRoom1 I also really appreciate that you are actually analyzing European Basketball. It has, in my opinion, more nuance and complexity to it that NBA, as the latter is more based on exploiting 1v1 mismatches.
@@TheFilmRoom1 So as I just discovered your channel and saw all the different playlists that you have, I thought that maybe it could be very helpful if there was a video or even a series that explains all the Basketball-language. Kind of like an online Basketball-dictonary. Just an idea. Thank you for all the material you have already put out there and are still putting out!
Check out the playlist called "Beginners" I have a few videos in there that breakdown that exact thing! Let me know what you think after you check them out.
Thank you! I’m currently a college coach and have been since I graduated from college in 2013. I’ve been watching film ever since then pretty much all year around (which I’m a believer there’s no substitute for experience - so a lot of what I know has just come from watching so much basketball) But the reason I run this channel is because I didn’t know the majority of the stuff I teach on this channel until I was 5-6 years into coaching. So, my desire is to help people learn what took me over a decade in a much faster process to grow the game.
@@alfie-oj4yr I played at Iowa State, and then got right into coaching after I graduated. I went from the NAIA level to junior college, to NCAA D2, to NAIA as a head coach, back to D2 as an assistant (currently).
Good question. I am in a partnership with a company called WSC Sports, who gives me access to Euroleague footage. I don’t have the same access to NBA footage, and would get hit with copyright strikes if I were to use it. But I also really like Euroleague ball & think it’s vastly underrated and under-watched. But, my hope is one day I’ll be able to use NBA footage as well!
@@TheFilmRoom1 ahhh understood. I was leaning towards the defensive coverages being different and with more help D, due to that no defensive 3 second violation. I wonder if that at all changes how these actions are ran/defended across both leagues.
@@christiangavingale3349 oh absolutely. The defensive 3 seconds in the NBA almost makes it an entirely new game. I would love to see the NBA bring it back.
Hey. Thanks for reaching out! I have a lot of videos on my channel that I think would help you. I’d recommend going thru my playlists and watching videos on a topic that interests you first. There’s also a lot of other really good channels out there with great information. I haven’t done a video on handling pressure, but you’re not the first person to request that. So, I will look into making something about that in the near future.

Where do you play

This is great. I actively use a lot of the principles you teach to get better at 3v3 - 5v5 pickup.
Love to hear it! Keep workin hard.
I am at awe at how good your videos are. I am a coach making a jump and your videos really help me. Thank you
That means a lot to me. Thanks for your kind words 🤝

I watch their pod a lot & they talk about a lot of the things I do videos on. I appreciate the comment!

I couldn’t agree with you more. And that’s why I’ve really enjoyed covering it. I think there’s a lot more to learn

Greatly appreciate you! Working on something right now 😬
nice vid coach! thanks,
You bet! Thank you
Fantastic video. Thank you, Coach.
You’re very welcome. Thanks for the comment!
Great video man, do you work in basketball/coaching? If so how much film did you watch/study when trying to learn and understand the game

@@TheFilmRoom1 Thanks a lot. Would you say most of your knowledge has come from your past coaches?
Amazing content 👏
Great Video! The common terminology is actually “empty” ball screen, since the ball side corner is empty.
I’ve heard “empty” used as well. Thanks for sharing!
The content is incredible
Thanks for the kind words Joaquin. I appreciate you
Any particular reason you use Euroleague footage? I think I've seen plenty such actions in the NBA as well.

Coach,I'm a point guard and I want to add as much IQ as possible and how can I play to my pace even when pressured.

We used to call it in Europe transition Lithuania 🇱🇹
Nice! Thank you for sharing. Do you coach currently?
Euro ball screen continuity is based on this.
Yes it is. Good recognition.
Great video but change the music please the guitar tick in background is so annoying
I can put a different track on future videos. Thanks for sharing your opinion!
