- Terminology is one of the key components in teams being on the same page, and being able to communicate quickly on the floor. In this video, I talk about several actions/concepts that are used in Euroleague games, and breakdown what they are commonly referred to in America.
There's no "wrong term" for something. Depending on where you grew up, or who you were coached by, you learn certain terms for concepts. So, I would love to hear what you call actions that you see in this video if it's different.

I've heard Spain Ball Screen called "stack" by NBA players. You can see coaches like Jon Scheyer stack his hands on top of each other when calling the play. Some people call Zoom action "Chicago". Great video!
I’ve heard “zoom” called “Chicago” as well. That’s actually what I was first introduced to, and then it seemed like everyone was calling it zoom. Thanks for sharing!
@@TheFilmRoom1it’s funny because Chicago to me means an elevator screen 😂. Great video tho
Excellent work. Can see why teams are running more and more zone, hard to guard these actions!
It’s a lot to guard! I appreciate the compliment.
This is a fantastic video. Good stuff! My favorite basketball channel on YT right now.
I really appreciate that Trevor - thank you!
Thank you for that great video appreciate your effort and work.
The first Floppy Action we call it Floppy but the second one when one guard is under the rim and the other guard on the FT line we call it Diamond the difference is that in Floppy one guard screen the other guard before he get screen from 4 or 5.
You’re welcome. Yes, that is the distinction between those two actions. In America we call it the same thing, but the set up is different. I’ve actually heard the second one called “Kentucky” quite often, because John Calipari has run that for several years. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome video!! Thanks for all your hard work in putting these together!
You’re welcome James. Thanks for your support 🤝
Instant subscription. Awesome content, thanks a lot.
Thank you! I appreciate the support.
I think goggle action is a screen back to your screener which is used for switching a pin downs. Curry and thompson personnel
While alley ball screen is a screen at the wing sending the ball hander to the baseline.
😊👍🏼✌🏻
I have heard all the terms used. Good job.
Great to hear! Thanks
Thanks for the support .

There are a lot of offense actions. Its great aspirefull for me as a u18 coach. I can use some of them plays.
Glad to hear that! Thanks for the compliment!

Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the content…The only action we call differently or I knew differently in the video was the “Americas”…My coach called this action as a “Fist”
Thanks for sharing! I appreciate the support
I first learned that action as a box set called "America's Play." Cool to see how it has evolved!

as a uk bball fan i am very familiar with floppy action
Isn't that what they used to call "single-double"?
@@bmmwcs not sure i just know its called floppy action today
We use the term empty ball-screen instead of cleared ball-screen 5:59
I’ve heard empty be used in exchange for cleared as well. What term do you use for a paired ballscreen?
This is a great summary of all of these actions. Well put together. @dustinaubert
I have heard the paired ball screens be called shakes ball screen since the lift from the single side corner behind the ball screen is called a shake.
Interesting. It makes sense, but haven’t heard that term before. I appreciate you sharing

Linguistic variations create confusion . Until you're on the same page vocabulary wise the actions will have to be repetitiously simulated to synchronize the audible or signal. Spain , zoom , zipper , floppy are most common . K.i.s.s. READS . THATS A START NOT A FINISH. NOMENCLATURE VARIES BY CULTURE . Most of these are 2 and 3 man games at root. Always keep the object in mind . Understanding the intent of each type is important . Some people forget that . How you do it you've shown but WHY ? NOT SO MUCH .
I heard what you call a cleard side ball screen empty side ballscrem
Yes, empty is pretty common as well. Thanks for sharing!
