  • This is Part 2 of our beginner guide to riding off piste/natural MTB trails.
We feel Cademuir’s short and sweet tracks are the sweet spot in terms of length, gradient and technicality to allow you to really progress your off piste riding without the crowds, big climbs or getting too over-faced with long and steep descents.
Please watch our part 1 edit before this one filmed at Glentress forest park and try those trails first if you are new to Off piste riding.
    • Off Piste MTB - A begi...
We filmed this back in October straight after a major storm had hit Scotland so the trials were very slick. We would recommend trying these for the first time after drier weather as they will ride much easier. Easier off piste tracks become super treacherous in the wet so p[lease bear that in mind before planning a visit.
Here is the list of trails and the order we feel they should be ridden from easier to harder:
    Barron Greenback - Red graded
    Swooper Dooper - Red Graded
    Harem Scarem - Red Graded
    Kamikaze - Black Graded
    RTT - Black Graded
    Parental Guidance - Black Graded
If the tracks are dry and you feel ready to step up then try:
Danger Mount / Penfold - Black Graded
Avoid Cademuir DH track (top) its very overgrown with trees and difficult to ride.
As ever, I hope you enjoy and let me know if your inspired and decide to give it a go.

04:05 Harem Scarem - Red Descent
    04:48 Kamikaze - Black Descent
06:34 Dangerous into Penfold - Black Descent
08:22 Baron Greenback - Red Descent
    10:34 RTT - Black Descent

Just down the road from Glentress this isn’t it, I’d never heard of it till watching this. Gonna get to Glentress at some point so might visit this place while there too.

It is indeed. It’s over the river near the high school at Peebles. It’s about 5 mins from Peebles centre, 10 mins from glentress. It’s a little gem 💎

@@MindfulTrailBikerthanks, shall give it a go. Gonna make a long weekend of it, Glentress, Cademuir (now) and Hamsterley Forest too, would make for a nice weekend that! Love your Camper by the way, beautiful that. I’m sure I saw that in the car park at Gisburn that weekend.

@@MindfulTrailBikergonna ride as much as we can probably when we go. Never been before but we will try ride as much as we can. I’ll rewatch your video and probably a few others before going just to help see what’s best to look for. Usually do that when going somewhere new.

@@Danny_Transition_Patrol all the new flow tracks are mint and shouldn’t be missed. Then if you’re into off piste riding the route from the off piste for beginners edit is really good and could be made shorter if time is an issue. 👍
