  • Want to start riding off piste/Enduro tracks - then look no further.
    This is our beginner guide to riding off piste/natural trails in the famous Glentress Forest park in Peebles (Tweed Valley).
    Having introduced many friends and family to off piste riding, I believe there isn’t a better place to be exposed to the the wonders of off piste riding than in the the relative comfort and security of Glentress forest park. The tracks in this route are some of the easier off piste style tracks but are a definite step in difficulty over groomed way marked trails and can be sampled as a full route or can be tackled individually as part of a weekend of trail and off site riding.
    The full route is 14.5 miles and around 830m climbing.
    Trailforks ride log: www.trailforks.com/ridelog/vi...
    Garmin route here: connect.garmin.com/modern/act...
    As ever, I hope you enjoy and let me know if your inspired and decide to give it a go.

    Had a wee chuckle about Fairy liquid to myself as I knew what was coming. I've done it as a uphill power stage ebie. Good video.

    What a great wee vid showcasing some of what GT has to offer, this is my local trail centre and you can find these sorts of off piste stuff all over GT along with some nice new trails that will be open very soon.
    I too have done Fairy liquid uphill at the Bosch Emtb... it was torture 😂

      Hi Andy, Thanks for commenting. We absolutely adore GT and I think that comes across in the edit! I can honestly say it’s one of very few trail centres that has enough variety to keep you coming back for more. It’s just a great vibe. We love the way marked and off piste tracks equally, never fails to make us smile! We’re looking forward to riding the new stuff for sure! Would you know if Broon trout is back open? Trialforks says not but it’s often not up to date with closures. Thank you 🙏

    Zorro is a fab trail. I rode it for the first time a few weeks back, got a bit carried away and that exact sniper root you nearly came a cropper on took me out, thankfully I landed to the right on the muddy bank - no harm done! Happened so fast, I hadn’t even spotted the root! I’ll know next time 😂.

    • @MindfulTrailBiker
      @MindfulTrailBiker  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s awesome isn’t it! Loads of fun! Yeah that root just comes from out of nowhere, I’m sure it’s not just me and you that came a cropper there 😂

    They may be at the easier end of off piste there , but nearly all the trails you used have been used in EWS stages . So it shows you diverse they are.

    • @MindfulTrailBiker
      @MindfulTrailBiker  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey dude! Thanks for the watch and the comment! 🙏
      They are incredible trails that can be enjoyed by a lot of riders if ridden with respect and in control and most importantly in the right conditions!
      Easy off piste is subjective and even harder to find. You tend to be in at the deep end really and weather plays a HUGE part in the difficulty.
      We have parts 2, 3 & 4 of this beginner guide to off piste riding coming soon!

      @MindfulTrailBiker-sv2bc Just starting to,but she barks alot when on the bike,but we'll get there

    • @MindfulTrailBiker
      @MindfulTrailBiker  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@RCTurbo79 Hugo does this at the beginning of the ride, proper zoom mode! He normally chills a bit when he’s tired. It can be a bit off putting and makes you feel a nuisance around other riders. He always has to keep his pack together so if we ride with friends he always goes back to bark at the one at the back when climbing, Not what you want when you’re nbreathing out your arse! Most folks are delighted to see a dog sharing the trails even if he’s a bit loud at times. Think i've only had 1 occasion were someone was negative, but to be fair I think Hugo had taken a dislike to him for whatever reason and was directing his barking towards him in particular.

    Since when did off piste mean trail thats quite obviously been ridden endlessly?

    • @MindfulTrailBiker
      @MindfulTrailBiker  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Pretty simple, by the fact the it doesn’t appear on the trail maps for the trail centre. There’s plenty of super hidden off piste stuff elsewhere that isn’t well ridden but is likely not suitable for a “beginners guide to off piste” for folk wanting to dip there toe in without biting off more than they can chew. the Golfie tracks are endlessly well ridden but they are still classed as “off-piste" trails.
