Great video. I recall when I was shooting a lot of weddings I would hear some wedding planners say it’s hard to capture the white of a wedding dress and the black of the tux. I never had any issues and I have photographed over 350 weddings. Maybe a 100 on film. I’ve also photographed many people with darker skin. Again no issues. I shot most weddings with Portra 160 and Fuji NPH I believe. But I guess some film types will render skin tones differently.
Loved this video. I’m a big fan of Andre’s as well. I love his eye and how he captures the story of Brooklyn and the black community. I also enjoyed his Skillshare classes as well. His passion for photography definitely shined.
Nice video... You should continue doing these videos as you're introduced to new Film photographers whether it's 1-3 new people just create short vids and put them out. There is a young kat from Toronto named @ Shingie that shoots film and you can find him on youtube. [Devin Allen, Vicky Grout, Jamel Shabazz]
Really love all of the photographers in the vid! One of my favs is Travis Matthews or @a_kid_named_trav, his work is transformative and captures black people so beautifully!
This is a great video Christin! Thank you for making it. My additions to this incredible list would be Rebecca Naen & Wesley Verhoeve. Check them both out 🤗
wow checking now the work of Rebecca Naen x Wesley :) loving it thank you. I know Wesley's work I think I first saw his interview on Willem Verbeeck channel. Great dude, amazing sticking work
Thank you for sharing these stories and artists! It's definitely important for representation in art, in photography specifically. I've been noticing more unification with/within brown & black communities! 🙏 I have some artists you may be interested in, @kingjvpes, @friscolens, @chaoticneutral.photo @aoctavisw
As a POC myself, "Thank you" for highlighting people that look like me who make beautiful work
Great video. Thank you.
