Oh I love how sweet you were with the rooster, he was so cute! You guys are so kind relocating him. Wow, the prices of the lotions and stuff in that store were crazy expensive. I know my health food stores have jacked up prices, but that was really bad. Love your vlogs.
The way you held that rooster shows what kind of a person you are, caring and really compassionate. I feel so bad for him having to relocate. I too have have had pain in the ass neighbors who gave us grief for feeding feral cats but we trapped them and got them homes and kept just 2 that we care for. I hope he will be ok.
Wow! Thanks so much for filming and sharing those beautiful orchids! The best in show winner looked so regal and just spectacular. And that very pale pink one was so pretty; I want it! I agree that the cascading ivory ones would look amazing draping down from high ceiling corners. Omg I freaking love orchids!! (Can you tell?! lol)
I have to tell you that you are my favorite TH-camr! It's make me happy just to see one of your videos, always so positive and real!! Kisses from Puerto Rico! 😘💐👸🏼
What a wonderful treat going to the orchid show. You guys are so organized planning your move. You are both an inspiration. Following your dreams where you heart takes you. I can't wait till you get to Arizona. We will learn so much! As always, peace and love.
I LOVE all your Succulents and the Orchids at the show were all so BEAUTIFUL what an amazing flower show :-) I LOVED your room tour too and really enjoyed watching this Christine, thanks a million for sharing and sending heaps of love and happiness from Ireland for a FANTASTIC Sunday XXXX
kohlrabi: peel off tough outer skin, slice thin or thick and eat raw, very refreshing golden beets: beetroot, so prepare as you would them (boil in skin then peel and eat hot or cold, good sliced cold with cheese in a wholemeal bread sandwich not a great recipe for you!) cacao pods: i believe you have to split them open then ferment them before extracting the seeds, and that's just to start with! lol i wish we in uk had a fraction of your choice, someone came to the supermarket where i work and said in america, the breakfast cereal section alone was the size of our whole supermarket! incredible fruit and veg section you have :)
You can eat kohlrabi both raw and cooked. Just slice off the outer layer thinly, then cut in smaller bits and eat as is or cook in water, kind of like you would with carrots.
Hearing you talk about what you're taking and seeing that you've already gotten rid of some things makes me SO excited to see your vlogs when you move!! It's going to be so fun....also, Christine you seem so nice and the things you apologize for crack me up! Thanks for taking the time to record these videos - you are definitely my favorite TH-camr!
Kohlrabi is a very nice hard vegetable. You can slice it, along with some carrots to sticks and keep them in a box with salt and lemon juice - delicious! So you can have it raw or a also as good substitute to potatoes.
Kohlrabi is a favorite of mine. I like the pale green ones. Although you can cook them (roasting is the most popular cooking method), I always eat it raw, in a salad or by itself. You can eat the leaves, but I eat the bulb part only. Simply peel it and cut it up. It tastes like a very mild radish. Yum!
+TheWhitingale You can simply slice it up like french fried potato wedges, lightly coat with olive oil, salt and pepper, (a little crushed garlic is nice too), bake on baking sheet, 425 degrees fahrenheit for about 30 minutes.
I love all your plants. Beautiful. You seem to posting more videos lately. I am happy. Yes I wish you were my friend, as you just seem so nice and down to earth. Have a lovely week.
Kohlrabi is kinda traditional over here in Germany and you can find it in every grocery shop. You can cook it or eat it raw. Both ways its very tasty and pretty healthy. Many greetings from Germany!
Hi Christine, you can eat Kohlrabi (Kohl= cabbage Rabi= roots) raw or steamed. For raw use, you have to peel it like an apple and use it in a salad for example. You can also cook it and use it as a side dish. You can also cook the leaf as they are very rich with vitamin c (double as much as the cabbage) and their carotin level is 100 times higher than calcium and 10 times higher than iron. It is an interesting vegetable. Enjoy it! Stef
Kohlrabi is delicious! Peel it off and ready to eat. It is juicy and has a very fresh taste. I sometimes eat it like I would eat an apple. Or you can grill the slices. But I mostly use them for salads or sandwiches. One of my favorite root vegetables.
Christine and Michael, Thank you for sharing your videos. I love watching them and has been moving toward better eating habits because of them, also I've been inspired to declutter and pare down my 'stuff'. I have one question/concern about the rooster. Chickens are flock animals and I was concerned that after releasing him he wouldn't have anyone to 'flock up with'. Were there other chickens around there? If not perhaps you could take a hen to him for company. We rescued a rooster a few years back and we became his flock. Any given moment I could walk in and find a german shepherd, cat and rooster all sharing the same dog bed. lol
You might have mentioned it in a past video but I'm not sure. How many / are you taking any of the succulents from outside? I don't know how well they travel and if you plan to but anyway you are simply wonderful. Love you Christine. Love from Virginia.
Some of these flowers are just amazing I never new there were so many variations of my orchid I'm quite sure Scotland's climate will be far to cold for them! Will the cockerel survive out in the wild? What a beautiful place to plant a tree. That was one amazing shop I don't have anything like it here things in there I have not seen before :) xx
Hi Christine-LOVE your videos! You are such an inspiration to me in everything you do, from your crafts and DIY to the discipline you demonstrate with your healthy eating and lifestyle! Quick random question, and thanks to any who can answer this, what is the style/name of knives you use in your kitchen? Did you find them at Costco? Thanks!
I was kind of sad to see you moving away from maui but now I feel like I am ready to see moving vlogs and see what you do with your new house I really will miss your garden though
Kohlrabi is similar to a parsnip, and gobo root or burdock root is prepared by shaving it into shoots like bamboo shoots and stir frying. Traditionally gobo root is stir fried in sake, soy sauce and sugar. I typically prepare mine with sake, coconut sugar, and gf soy sauce or aminos.
I love watching ur vlogs! I live in Canada so it's interesting to see other parts of the world. I didn't know what a pineapple looked like while still on the vine, so thank you for that 😊🍍 I learned something
Ah, your videos are so inspiring and zen all at the same time. I always leave your videos feeling so good about myself for some reason. Your videos are just so refreshing. LOVE THEM ((((:
I have three quick questions for ya. 1) What do you put in your Tumeric Amber Sun tea? I'm a coffee drinker but wanting to try teas & just not sure what to put in them if anything? Maybe you could make a video on what you put in your hot & cold teas? 2) I have my clothes in a cube just like yours & curious how you have yours folded to fit in there? I'm not sure I have mine folded to get the most of the cube space in each one if that makes sense? I loved your dresser! Whoever bought it is lucky lol. Lastly 3) Will you be taking your bed? I remember you saying it is the most comfortable bed ever. :-)
Sweet Christin I didn't have time to write you but I'm so happy to see you because I see all of them and I'm glad for you and Michael I hope when you move to Arizona get your dream come true
Yeah!!! I love your "day in the life" videos!!! I miss them! This was a nice ending to my weekend!! Thank you ❤️ p.s. Glad your taking your trunk with you!!
Christine, I know that you and your husband are planing maybe move to Arizona, have you think about get an RV and travel around? You guys love to live green life and travel around. I hope it doesn't sound silly, I love the idea of doing myself, but my husband is more attach to material things than me so I know that for me that will not be possible. I always love to watch your videos, sorry that I don't comment always :)
+Glittering the Sky My boyfriend & I gave up "sticks & bricks" living (we had an apartment) for living in an RV last October. We're currently in an RV park in the forests of Northern Oregon, but had plans to move around this summer & just be as green as possible, so we could experience the country for awhile. Plans changed when we found out we're expecting our first baby later this year, however. But it's been a fun adventure so far! Giving up material things was a hard concept for me at first, I was so used to it, but he convinced me to try it & I love it! If you ever get the opportunity, DO IT! I'm so glad we did!
Kerri S I love that!!! So amazing, I am sure that it is really fun. I usually watch the videos from "Less Junk, more Journey", they did like you did, they also have a toodler and they travel around USA visiting the most amazing places and cities. I want to do the same so bad, I hope my husband some day understand how amazing is not be attached to stuff and that life is so short to let things pass :)
Melina McGuire I hope you and me can have that dream come true!!1 My husband is way to attached to the material, maybe he will enjoy more as soon we get an RV and he see that we don't need so much to be happy and have fun :)
I really love this channel and appreciate all the diverse content. This is my favourite you tube channel. Thank you for sharing your life and your wonderful personality with us. Love from another island girl all the way in Barbados. Wish you both well with moving and your new life.
That cascading lily was gorgeous. I see nothing wrong keeping the truck. It's unique. The clothing rack you can replace. Since the shipping is based by shipping. I would leave the weights. If it doesn't make to much of difference then it won't matter
Christine, kohlrabi is one of my fave veg! You can eat it raw (quite strong flavour tho!) or boil it and make cabbage with it or just blend it into a soup...very versatile but my favourite is definitely the raw version! x
Hi Christine! It'd be really useful if you get the 100% Pure spf spray and tell us what you think about it. I think there are a lot of people out there who are super curious about it! Thank you very much for your videos, it's always a pleasure to see you ^__^
hi Christine, I use watermelon radish in soups and stews and it is really good. I have used Kohlrabi raw in crudites, (but my friend told me my breath smelled after eating them, well they are related to cabbage(!)) I know you can cook and mash Kohlrabi but I haven't tried it yet. wait, what is your cure for cellulite? Please share and do a video on it! thanks.
Please do a video on the cellulite tips and do you have any thoughts on probiotics? There are so many options and so far my research comes down to a product that would cost $70.00 a month! There must be more reasonable choices. So enjoy your videos, especially with both you and Michael. You'really such lovely people!
I'm going to miss your Maui Vlogs when you move. I live on the Big Island and I feel like I can relate to a lot of what you do and talk about. Especially when it comes to shopping and products that you use and buy.
Kohlrabi is great raw! It tastes much like a hybrid between a potato and a cabbage. Kinda startchy like a potato but tastes like cabbage or Brussel sprouts. Great raw with a sprinkle of sea salt! My Amish in laws grow and eat it like crazy! We can get it seasonally here in Colorado! Let me know if you try it!!!
I love you videos!!! You are so inspiring!!! I was watching one of your old vlogs and I saw that you used the OPI nail envy for your nails and I have been having trouble with my nails peeling so I got it last night and I put it on and I already notice great results!!! Thanks for recommending it!!!
Beautiful flowers Christine! I adore the music you have in the beginning of the video too..may I ask where it is from? Glad to see you and Michael are doing well. Much Love, Dena
Hey, I'm from Israel and here the Kohlrabi are green from the outside and white inside. I really enjoy them skinless with a bit of olive oil and salt, as a snack. It's a really refreshing treat. You should try it too, though I'm not sure if the kind you showed us in the video tastes the same. Have a nice week :)
This was an awesome video as always! It's fun seeing the places in Maui that I've been to. I love your lipstick... would you please share what brand and color it is? Thank you for making me smile and teaching me something new every time I watch one of your videos!

Burdock root is used to make dandelion and burdock cordial, a traditional British drink. Not everyone likes it, but it's not bad if you're into it

And I've never cooked it.
