Seeing concept art is always a big joy for me, especially when its from a game that i consider to be my first game ive played as a child. Also thank you SO much for adding all the sources for easier access to the artwork
Same here and its a similar story for me with this game! Im happy to hear you checked the sources out, if you have any questions or anything let me know and I can try my best to help!
My 3 biggest takeaways from this comment section (and correction): 1. I need to watch Big Hero 6 and My Neighbor Totoro 2. Windy Valley's concept art was probably based off the Beta stage (although I couldn't find anything to confirm one way or the other but would make sense with the development process) 3.(more of a correction on my end) The Tikal art is an offical sketch but the coloring was done by KojiChao around 2003-2005 on the website SonicCult.com!
thanks so much im so happy to hear you enjoyed, it really means alot! Hopefully we get some good stuff from Sonic Team for the 30th to bring Sonic back to the spotlight
Wow, my guess is Big was based on Totoro and it looks like he was originally going to be a tanuki, but then eventually made him into a cat instead. Also, that concept art of Chaos even though didn't get used for Sonic Adventure due to the Dreamcast's limited technical abilities, that would later be Chaos' appearance in Sonic Generations.
duuuuudeeeee you killed it on this video. I usually don't comment on the quality of videos, but this was A1. The small bits of humor were my favorite, they were subtle jokes and then you went straight back to the point. subbed.
That chubby Knuckles clan dude at the end gave me a pretty good chuckle. I think I find the N64 / Saturn / PS1 era of development really interesting since you have these developers who were already experienced with 2D games trying to figure out how to get things to work in 3D. I'm glad that concept art being released to the public has only become more commonplace; it's fairly easy to buy artbooks online from the game developers and publishers. You've got a good voice and good editing. Keep up the good work.
Hey thanks so much for the kind words :) I haven't really taken a dive down the N64/Saturn/PS1 rabbithole before but now that you mention it that would be pretty cool to check out. I find the concept art of these games from this era so interesting since its before alot of them could fully realize their vision compared to nowadays so it really makes for some interesting conversations as to "how" a certain piece would've turned out if the game was made in todays environment. A good example off the top of my head is that for Perfect Chaos in SA1 it wasn't until Sonic Generations (close to 15 years later) when they remade the fight and remodeled him that is what Sonic Team always wanted him to look like and I could only imagine for the other big titles from that era like Mario 64, OoT (which I really need to play) or Crash Bandicoot
@@Eldarin I feel exactly the same way. Unlike today, that was largely an era of compromise. Developers tried to push the hardware and see what they could get away with, which makes the differences between the idealized concept art and the final product that much more interesting. It was the wild west back then when the rules weren't as established and there was still a lot of new discoveries. I'm probably romanticizing it too much, but the idea is interesting to me.
Same here! I was expecting more Tikal stuff when going to research but alas there was not much released to the public. I wonder what her concept designs were like
Yeah, I’d imagine that early drafts of her appearance would have had different headdresses or arrangements of her jewelry reminiscent of Maya ruling class.
The giant Knuckles Pillar is right in front of the entrance to Lost World in the Mystic Ruins, and you can actually see an animation of it forming every once in awhile
Thanks! I’m the same way, I’m not really sure what it is specifically with SA1 but the development is so interesting to me, it’s probably a mix of it’s 10 months development and the road before it being created (Sonic XTreme, etc etc) and Sonic Team still delivered a banger, imo at least
The story boards for Sonic Adventure make me really wish that Sonic Team could remake it in order to create what the story was to it's fullest potential without worrying about the limitations of experience in 3D they had at the time of the original being made. Then I remember it's Sonic Team we're talking about and I understand that it wouldn't really pan out regardless most likely.
@@Eldarin Being a Sonic fan is like cramming for a test and mastering the answer to all the questions only to realize that your teacher assigned you an outdated book if you're lucky and a completely different than needed book if you're not. But heck, you throw enough games out into the world with holes in them you're bound to pull magic from a hat sooner or later, I know I'm just coping but at least ST keeps us on our toes.
This is a quality video! Reminds me of Cybershell's stuff. Great pacing and clear audio. You've got yourself one more subscriber and I hope your channel takes off.

8:08, actually you may not be aware, but windy valley was completely different for a lot of the game’s development. The drawing is a section from the prototype windy valley, a pretty accurate one too.
That is a good point it could've been based off the beta verison, granted I couldn't find any info in regards to what version the drawing was based off of (so I tried to match as best as I could) but I could 100% see how that would've been where that picture came from. Makes me wonder why they even cut it as although I love final Windy Valley the beta was far superior. Anyways, hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!
Man, what a great video, great humour and you showed a lot of fresh new things (or i guess old) that i have never seen before I love Sonic Adventure and the style of the game with the more mystical phantasy aproach it went
Im so happy to hear that! Thanks so much for the kind words. I agree its such a weird and unique setting but thats what makes it workso well imo. And then bundle that in with SA2 where it goes urban-scifi then urban-sci-mystical-phantasy by the end of the game with tying into SA1. Crazy styles!
Some of those early Big designs are really charming tbh. Those early Gamma designs are cool, but I couldn't see them working as what's supposed to be one of the most powerful and efficient robots Eggman has ever made. That Oshima illustration of Perfect Chaos is fucking badass too.
The Perfect Chaos illustration is probably my favorite out of the whole group, I found the Big ones really cool too and I would've been interested to see how that would've translated from the paper to in-game. I agree about Gamma, poor guy looked like a hunk of junk instead of an elite fighting robot
The Knuckles Clan flashbacks and Lost World were inspired by various ruins in Central America. I think members of Sonic Team also went to Guatemala to visit them, as well.
That’s awesome! And to add onto that, we know can assume the reason for the S.A.M.E was for the canceled (or delayed) adventure remakes! Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed :)
Great video! I appreciate your meme edits scattered throughout to keep things fresh and entertaining. The concept art you picked was varied, and instead of just showing off the art, you went through the effort to find out the artists, their roles, and footage of how the art appeared in the final game. I liked how you prefaced any opinion of yours with "that's just my opinion, though," because it gave you a humbleness I found admirable. If I had any criticisms, I'd say that you could cut down the video length by removing the mentions of "I found this interesting" scattered throughout. I feel the fact you featured it in the video shows that you found it interesting, and the viewer can decide if they too find it interesting on their own. Ultimately that's a nitpick. I appreciate the level of commitment you've shown towards making this a quality video. Thank you!
Hey there! Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to write the comment and feedback. I will 100% work on the "I found this interesting" stuff to make it a bit more concise! Im so happy you enjoyed the video and stay tuned for more!
I’m commenting for the algorithm as this channel needs more views/subs. I’m subbing after this comment. This was very professional. I just assumed this was a relatively big TH-camr’s video. Hopefully it will be soon
Looking at the Echidna relic concept art, it seems they were planning to be closer to S3&K's style initially, though the shonen animé aesthetic of Adventure was clearly set from the get go.
Hey! I'm really surprised you never saw these images 1:52 before. I used to print these out all the time! If you put the Sonic Adventure for Dreamcast CD in your computer, these images all popped up as wallpapers that you could use. It was really neat and I honestly miss these cute illustrations. It gave off such a fun vibe seeing Amy and Tails in beachware and Sonic in a santa suit!
Thats such a cool fact! (I'm going to show my age...or lack thereof I suppose) but my first introduction to SA was SADX so I never had the luxury of using a Dreamcast..how are the controllers on those things by the way? Anyways, thanks for sharing as thats a really cool piece of trivia...those illustrations are adorable I agree!!
I’m so happy to hear you found some new stuff in the video! I’m thoroughly surprised as SA1 has a lot of concept art and you would imagine SA2 especially would but it has next to none (much like development information we have on the game). It’s quite interesting to say the least
Just found this video, I love it! This series has such great art, and I love seeing videos on it! I wish there were more honestly. You should do more of these, they’re great!
Hey thanks so much it really means a lot to hear that! I do plan on doing more in the same vein (currently working on a few I plan to have out in the near future) so stay tuned! Thank you so much for watching:)
Sonic Adventure is still a favourite of mine. I may not care for a good chunk of its content, but the Sonic portion is so good that I'm willing to tolerate the lesser parts.
I agree, I just got done 100% it recently and it was a blast but there is somethings I am not a fan of but Sonic's gameplay keeps me coming back and back, the level design and his control are some of the best in the franchise.
great video dude i love it. Sonic Adventure 1 has like the most interesting development to me bc it really set the stage for how Sonic stories, gameplay, and music would define the character. Its nice to pay respects to the game that greatly contributed to Sonic Frontiers which is a lovely success for the series
Wow, this was pretty interesting. great work on going in depth with the concept art of Sonic adventure for how it made changes to the series. Are you going to make another one with Sonic adventure 2 besides the one you made with Shadow & Rouge? Cuz this really peeked my interest and i know some concept art of SA2 was shown in one of sonic live streams.
Thank you so much! I’m really happy to hear you enjoyed the vid. As for if I’m going to do an SA2 one, I am currently planning to but I can’t seem to find anywhere near as much concept art straight out for SA2 so what I may do is morph it into something a tad more specific than just “concept art of SA2” if that makes sense (kinda like what my most recent one is). Let me know if that clears it up, thanks!
@@Eldarin oh thank you for the reply and also fair enough. I couldn't seem to find that much as well. All I can find is the concept art from the Twitter link: twitter.com/VGArtAndTidbits/status/982205020132147212?s=20 and some images of it on google. Regardless, hope your next video works out well my guy. :)
The next game will be Heroes (not sure when I am going to tackle the advance and GBA games yet) but I have a couple more SA2 videos in the pipeline along with one last solely focused SA1 topic but Im waiting for something in the mail to use as a resource of info to help make it. I'm trying to get about 2-3 videos per mainline game (rough estimate, may be more or less depending on the game) but if there is any requests on topics or games I am all ears! i just love those models of sonic and tails on the sega saturn. i'm so curious now to see what sonic adventure would've been like on the saturn instead of the dreamcast.
I love the Sonic R-esque ones too they're so cool but kinda cute. It really gave me a OG FF7 vibe in the pictures they gave for some reason, thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed :)
@@Eldarin YEAH they hit that low-poly classic look perfectly and i feel like it would be funny to have a full-blown adventure game in that style of animation lmao
If you haven’t checked out Sonic Robo Blast 2 it’s a free fan game that has the same style of those pictures..I’d highly recommend it, it’s the style of 2D sonic with the level design and openness of the adventure games! Plus the mods are super dope too!

Sorry doing this at 11' Just a big if, imagine that they used the unused Concepts and put that into a separate mode or an entirely new story mode in the remake. Also I noticed this for awhile now Amy's Classic Design, She Has The Two Spikes On Her Back like Every Hedgehog In her Modern Design, They're gone Nobody hasn't Touched this Topic Yet
I really hope we get these concepts remade and placed in the story as that’s the kind of stuff that elevates a remake for me imo. Yeah I agree it’s weird Amy’s design radically changed so much yet there’s literally no available art on it which sucks :/ great eye though, that’s a really interesting detail
@@Eldarin Yeah, What really surprises me that the Fans don't even Talk/ Mention about that ( I think ) Which is Shocking, Well I'll Spread the Word About this though.

Hey there! Just wanted to say I am a huge fan of your work and thank you so much for the kind words and subbing it really means alot. Hope you enjoy the ride!
Thank you! And yeah I'm playing through SA2 and have some content coming very shortly on it, but I forgot just HOW FUN the stages are in them. It's always been so interesting to me as to how different the design philosophy of SA1 vs SA2 (not in a bad way at all as they both excel in what they set out to do). I kinda think there can be an argument made if they should even be in the same subseries. I just recently went back to 100% SA1 and it was a blast but the SA2 completion experience so far has been FUN ASF especially due to the ranking and how to get the A ranks, you need to be good at the level and look cool doing it. So fun! :)
@@Eldarin I COMPLETELY agree. My first time in SA1 was before preschool if I remember correctly. I got SA2 in 3rd grade and initially thought the tails/knuckles (and their counterparts) gameplay was boring, as many would argue now, but after many years (I'm in college now) of playing and playing SA2 (probably over 20 playthroughs tbh XD, and that's not counting just replaying levels for fun) I think tails and knuckles stages are just as fun as sonic's, if not more so tbh! Those stages breathe in the exploration and more methodical platforming that aren't present in sonic's stages, giving the game a very nice balance imo. And the MUSIC! The tone/story of SA2 is a sweet spot for the series imo as well. I would love to see another game take a genuine attempt to follow this up (but to be fair, Sonic 06 is kinda maybe my favorite sonic game, but that's off the record XD)
@@garfieldodie3106 Im 100% with you as I was in a similar situation and I sold my gamecube, all my sonic games and everything to get a X360 in lieu of Sonic 06. I'm really excited to play it again for the channel since I remember LOVING it when I was younger without knowledge of the outside consensus on it.I never 100% beat SA2's story till this year (couldn't get past cannons core lol) but I was really impressed how many callbacks to SA1 there were at the end and how Sonic Team was able to blend the Sci-fi aesthetic of the 2nd game with the more mystical fantasy theme of the first. Both games are so awesome! (sorry for the late response also). I'm interested to see where SEGA is going to go this year with the new game and if they use the adventure formula (Im not too picky as long as the game is fun and the story is good lol)
Thank you so much it really means alot and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it. I'm in the same boat as this is my favorite era of sonic too, so it was such a treat researching this and finding all this art! Stay tuned for the SA2 Concept Art + Real World Location Inspiration vid as I'm currently editing it right now :)
I am so sorry to do this, but unmodded DX footage genuinely gives me, like, this kind of motion sickness nausea alongside the sadness of the porting job overall-- I simply can't look at it, especially in-between stuff specifically about SA1's art. I'm glad to see more well-researched and well-edited Sonic stuff out there though! (and I'd totally watch a version without the SADX B-roll, I understand I';m dumb lol)
I'm sorry to hear that, no need to apologize either! I use BetterSADX mainly for the widescreen hack and such but if interested hopefully my SA2 video suits your fancy more :)
dude i know! my biggest question is about the Saturn photos, as would we still have gotten SA1 on the Saturn? Where those taken after X-Treme was already scrapped? Would both of them released or how would X-Treme affected SA1's development if they're both on the same console? Very interesting to ponder!
@@Eldarin yea. I always assumed back then that Sonic Adventure was in production after X-treme was scrapped but then I realized, both Adventure and X-treme were made by two different teams so I am not entirely sure if that is the case. Though I would love to see footage of the supposed Saturn version but I am sure all those footage are lost in the sands of time.
@@MetaKnuxXbeats Im not sure myself...I think STI was working on X-Treme while Sonic Team was working on SA1, not really sure though. Maybe one day we will get that Saturn footage, if there is any
I thought the Takumi Miyake one was another Oshima effort considering it did look alot like this picture of his, given the pose and nose look very similar, or possibly it was partly inspired, with the edge turned up to up the max XD. I'm glad we got the final Sonic we got. i.imgur.com/JZXzP0p.jpg Also with looking at Okano's art for the Japanese release of 3D for the Saturn, they really do like the missing link between the Mega Drive/Genesis and Dreamcast redesigns for Sonic, Knux, Miles and Eggman sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Sonic_3D_Blast/Gallery
That Oshima one and Miyakes do look quite similar, I’m sure just like Uekawa’s they all took inspiration from each other so that may have been what happened there. And that’s a really good point on Okano’s art! Side note, I picked up 3D Blast but have yet to play it. I’m genuinely curious as to how it’s going to be LOL Thanks for watching also :)
@@Eldarin there was a quote I can remember seeing from an article saying about it was mostly Okano who had something down, then Uekawa came along and refined it “Before ‘new Sonic,’ I had drawn an illustration of Sonic, then Yuji Uekawa finished it. Because of that, the initial ‘new Sonic’ illustrations were a two-person effort. This is something very few SEGA employees know about.” Satoshi Okano www.fanbyte.com/features/sonic-hedgehog-satoshi-okano/ Also we need more actual character artwork in the games, rather the bland CG models which might as well the ingame character models at this point, given how graphics are these days. Either some art from Uekawa, or Yui Karasuno, wouldn't go a miss to grace the next game's box art. Also if you're unfamiliar with Karasuno, she does alot of artwork for the Japanese Sonic Twitter, which at times feels easily better than the English one, given as I said the Karasuno and Uekawa artwork which has more meaning and heart than the dumb memes they usually post. However we do get the odd nice bit of art from Nathalie Fourdraine every now and then, so its not a total lost cause. sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Sonic_Channel/Gallery#Social_media_artwork

2. Windy Valley's concept art was probably based off the Beta stage (although I couldn't find anything to confirm one way or the other but would make sense with the development process)
3.(more of a correction on my end) The Tikal art is an offical sketch but the coloring was done by KojiChao around 2003-2005 on the website SonicCult.com!
The fact that the website is called SonicCult has me concerned--
But thanks for the clarifications on these things! :D
Very unique concept for a video. Very cool, I've never bothered looking at the concept as art.
Thanks so much! the concept art is so awesome for all the sonic games in my opinion!
"Sonic Adventure is a pretty awesome game in my opinion."

Ah, a man of culture ;) Welcome!
2:59 If they used that design for Big in the final game, then Jon St. John could have used his Duke Nukem voice.
the perfect chaos scream was hilarious timing, good shit. Some ones gotta keep the blue boy relevant
thanks so much im so happy to hear you enjoyed, it really means alot!
The small bits of humor were my favorite, they were subtle jokes and then you went straight back to the point.

hey thank you so much it means a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much, stay tuned as the next one should be coming later this week :)
If we get an Adventure remake, these concepts NEED to be utilized, especially Sonic's opening cutscene with Sonic jumping on the cops' cars.
Same here! It would only add to the story in my opinion!
Alot of the art used in that stylebook was used in the prima strategy guide
I didn’t know that! How cool :D thanks for watching :)
@@Eldarin absolutely! I enjoyed this. Looking forward to checking out more of your videos once im out

@@Eldarin thanks! I really like your videos too honestly! You do a way better job then I do! It honestly means a lot that you like my content!
I’m a little disappointed that there’s not a lot of Tikal art in the book. I really enjoyed her flashback segments and the culture of the echidnas.
I must’ve missed it..thanks for the heads up and checking the video out!
@@Eldarin of course. I always love hearing about the history of this game. Great video
I 100% agree with you. Sonic Team will manage to mess something up but in a very sadistic way that’s kind of the fun with them sometimes hahaha🥲
@@Eldarin
Being a Sonic fan is like cramming for a test and mastering the answer to all the questions only to realize that your teacher assigned you an outdated book if you're lucky and a completely different than needed book if you're not.
But heck, you throw enough games out into the world with holes in them you're bound to pull magic from a hat sooner or later, I know I'm just coping but at least ST keeps us on our toes.
@@ThatBugBehindYou i 100% agree and that analogy hits home way too hard this semester in college LOL
This is a quality video! Reminds me of Cybershell's stuff. Great pacing and clear audio. You've got yourself one more subscriber and I hope your channel takes off.
Thank you so much! That's an huge compliment to me to even be somewhat referenced to Cybershell. Really glad you enjoyed it, hope you enjoy the ride coming! :)
@synthwave _impact -_- hey thanks so much it really means a lot :D
Perfect Chaos with Yoda Death Scream is something I did not knew I needed until now
I’m glad we got a more streamlined super sonic for the whole series but DAMN that beta super sonic would’ve been so cool.
I know!!! Reminds me alot of the 06 model...would've been interesting to see how they translated the beta model to 3D on the dream cast
not gonna lie, but the concept pictures of Sonic adventure if it would have come out for the Sega Saturn looks pretty cool.
@@Eldarin I indeed enjoyed the video! Very well made, keep up the good work.
Man, what a great video, great humour and you showed a lot of fresh new things (or i guess old) that i have never seen before
I love Sonic Adventure and the style of the game with the more mystical phantasy aproach it went
@@Eldarin coming to think about it, it's true

Awesome vid! It's always really cool to see concept art for games. That Perfect Chaos drawing is beyond amazing!
I agree! This game is so interesting to me as how much unique concept art there was. Im so happy to hear you enjoyed the video :)
Great video! I really love how cool the concept art is from back then. Looking forward to future videos!
Glad you enjoyed it! More is on the way!
Welp now I have a new TH-cam Channel to binge through! Also amazing video my dude.
thank u sm! Seriously, I appreciate the feedback and hope you enjoy the other videos! :))
The Knuckles Clan flashbacks and Lost World were inspired by various ruins in Central America. I think members of Sonic Team also went to Guatemala to visit them, as well.
Fun fact the sonic music experience art was reused for Passion and Pride a Adventure era character theme collection
That’s awesome! And to add onto that, we know can assume the reason for the S.A.M.E was for the canceled (or delayed) adventure remakes! Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed :)
I hope those remakes release

Wow you actually taught me a few things I didn't know about sonic and SA1 👏 That's a hard thing to do 😂😂
Nice video man
I’m happy to hear! What I love about making these is I have learned so much about these games that makes me appreciate them even more!
Looking at the Echidna relic concept art, it seems they were planning to be closer to S3&K's style initially, though the shonen animé aesthetic of Adventure was clearly set from the get go.
Yeah it’s so interesting! I do wonder what the final product would have looked like with the 3K style more. I do love the shonen aesthetic tho :)
I am in LOVE with the super Sonic drawing. Definitly gonna take a crack at drawing it myself
Im kinda surprised you dont have like 500k subs, youre definetly underrated, great video btw!
Thanks so much, it genuinely means alot to hear that and im so happy you liked the vid!
I've stumbled upon a few of these over the years, but so many cool new things like rough drafts of the cutscene. Real charming stuff

Nicely done, fren. Grats on 100 subs.

great video dude i love it. Sonic Adventure 1 has like the most interesting development to me bc it really set the stage for how Sonic stories, gameplay, and music would define the character. Its nice to pay respects to the game that greatly contributed to Sonic Frontiers which is a lovely success for the series
10:50 the Emerald Shrine kinda reminds me of the Emerald shrine from 3K in Hidden Palace.
Good eye! I wonder if thats what it was based off of..thanks for watching :)

Just a big if, imagine that they used the unused Concepts and put that into a separate mode or an entirely new story mode in the remake.
Also I noticed this for awhile now
Amy's Classic Design, She Has The Two Spikes On Her Back like Every Hedgehog
In her Modern Design, They're gone
Nobody hasn't Touched this Topic Yet
I really hope we get these concepts remade and placed in the story as that’s the kind of stuff that elevates a remake for me imo. Yeah I agree it’s weird Amy’s design radically changed so much yet there’s literally no available art on it which sucks :/ great eye though, that’s a really interesting detail

Good video :D Sonic adventure is one of my all time favorite games too! Adventure 2 is better imo, but Adventure 1 isn't far behind.
Never saw these, very well presented too thanks

I am so sorry to do this, but unmodded DX footage genuinely gives me, like, this kind of motion sickness nausea alongside the sadness of the porting job overall-- I simply can't look at it, especially in-between stuff specifically about SA1's art. I'm glad to see more well-researched and well-edited Sonic stuff out there though! (and I'd totally watch a version without the SADX B-roll, I understand I';m dumb lol)

Hey thank yoy so much it really means a lot to hear that. Hope you enjoy what’s to come :D
The early concepts and early designs always fascinated me. It always makes me think, how different would the game be?
dude i know! my biggest question is about the Saturn photos, as would we still have gotten SA1 on the Saturn?

They had better use those storyboards for the potential remake.

I thought the Takumi Miyake one was another Oshima effort considering it did look alot like this picture of his, given the pose and nose look very similar, or possibly it was partly inspired, with the edge turned up to up the max XD. I'm glad we got the final Sonic we got.

Also with looking at Okano's art for the Japanese release of 3D for the Saturn, they really do like the missing link between the Mega Drive/Genesis and Dreamcast redesigns for Sonic, Knux, Miles and Eggman
sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Sonic_3D_Blast/Gallery
That Oshima one and Miyakes do look quite similar, I’m sure just like Uekawa’s they all took inspiration from each other so that may have been what happened there.
And that’s a really good point on Okano’s art! Side note, I picked up 3D Blast but have yet to play it. I’m genuinely curious as to how it’s going to be LOL
Thanks for watching also :)
@@Eldarin there was a quote I can remember seeing from an article saying about it was mostly Okano who had something down, then Uekawa came along and refined it
“Before ‘new Sonic,’ I had drawn an illustration of Sonic, then Yuji Uekawa finished it. Because of that, the initial ‘new Sonic’ illustrations were a two-person effort. This is something very few SEGA employees know about.” Satoshi Okano
www.fanbyte.com/features/sonic-hedgehog-satoshi-okano/
Also we need more actual character artwork in the games, rather the bland CG models which might as well the ingame character models at this point, given how graphics are these days.
