@@MysticalDragon73 I end up ordering 4 of those, so far so good, I can’t complain I only used when I needed, I’m able to do 2 or 3 tree removal before they need to charge again. Expensive but it’s worth it.
I can totally see that. I would say that for most residential tree sites that we have worked on, they have performed well. There have been some exceptions though!
Awesome video, I appreciate the breakdown. I was thinking of getting these for me and my apprentice, and I'm wondering two things... Is it a direct line of communication, similar to a walkie-talkie? Does it connect to Bluetooth for calls and media?
Great questions! These coms aren’t necessarily like “walkie talkies.” They provide constant communication while in use. You CAN pair your phone for calls and media!
$450 might sound acceptable in the US, they are about £450 here in the UK. It's a nonsense. The headset costs more than twice the helmet itself. To equip our three man team would set us back over £1,200. If they sold them for £100/£150, almost everyone would buy them, but no one I know will pay the extortionate price Pfanner wants. They don't seem to understand the idea of economy of scale. If they made the price reasonable, most would buy them.
I can’t pretend to understand their economic scaling, but I do wish premium communication systems were more accessible. I have helped guys over here get “safety grants” through their workers compensation insurance providers over here for things like this. I’m not sure if these programs exist in the UK, but it might be worth checking into. A lot of insurers have safety grant budgets that rarely get used. I’ve helped buddies write up their usage case, detailing why ______ item(s) will make the job safer. Many insurers here that participate will pay 50% of the cost up to $10,000. One buddy received a $5k grant towards a mini skid because it protected against back injuries!
Wonder how this compares to the sena cast system? Seems like the cast system adresses all the concerns
So does it only work if everyone else has one too?
Unfortunately yes… only compatible with Pfanner units.
You still recommend this Bluetooth headset?
If you have a pfanner protos helmet, these comms are the only way to go! We still love ours.
@@RootedArborists thank you, I just ordered 3 of those, I’ll let you know my thoughts.
@chrise1533 how dd you like it?

@chrise1533 thanks. I appreciate it.
I wish they were mesh instead on Bluetooth. Mesh is so much better for working on big sites
