Boo sure is a trooper! I think she'd jump the moon if she was asked! Hope he knows how lucky he is to get to jump her!! He does look good on her, he rode her well!!
I love hearing you teach and seeing Boo able to enjoy her jumping again. Bernard looks fabulous on her! I love how generous with his hands/release he is with her.
loved this video. Boo had such a good time and she really does get rev'd up after a couple rounds. Silver did awesome and was liking it as he/she was kicking up their feet a bit. It's awesome to see horses that are adventurous and like trying new things ALL ON TOP of doing their regular job well!
It was so cute seeing Silver progress with his knees and hind end through those few clips. He’s so cute and Boo and your boyfriend make such a nice team.
I think the rules are similar here in North America depending on what circuit you show. I know if you show 1.20m, you CAN show a different horse in the .90 and 1m, however if you are professional vs amateur, you have to show in those divisions. On the National Circuit, if you show over a certain height in jumpers, you cannot show a lower height in some of the more novice hunter or jumper classes. Same on the provincial circuit. The main issue is that they don't want riders who are very skilled to take other horses in the lower classes and win the money. They try to make it fair--and they also adjust prize money accordingly. Great vlog! You should do a full day in the life of a working equestrian to show just how much time you spend driving, how early you get up/go to sleep/fit in school/housework, riding, showing, living life and social time. Wait...do equestrians have a social life? :D I know I don't, but I'm old.
I would love to see a 'day in the life' video and have others see it because the reality of how much you do and how you fit it all in, it's not easy. I remember that and as you get older, you tire easier. And I feel a million years old today after a full day on Sunday. I used to do double what I did Sunday when I was your age! :D
Your boy friends riding is amazing , silver is so cute 😍 please could you do a video explaining your job, what you do and how you got to doing your job. 😀 Have à nice day ❤️
Both horses look like they're having fun! :D I'm just starting to jump with my mare, but I love watching your videos, looking at your seat helps me improve mine!
Loved this video!!! Are you training Silver or do you own him? her? I wasn't sure😬 It's must be SO nice to be finished with school and working. I would have loved to have you for a trainer. Direct instructions without negativity. I am retired from riding now so I am just an enthusiastic viewer! You know what I miss the most? Grooming and hanging out with my horse😴
@@EddiesGun91 I also have to admit that watching you jump and take lessons helps me keep from missing jumping and lessons. I am almost 57 with health issues that keep me from riding. I just need to find a barn that will let me come hang out with some of the lesson horses!
Hey loving your videos! Really really interested in what course/courses you studied to get your chiropractic/dry needling/massage qualification as I'd love to end up doing the same thing :) would you know of any similar courses in Australia?
Your boyfriend has a lovely seat. I absolutely adore that he doesn't flop around like the ones you see in Colorado with their big western horses. He has such gentle hands. I assume you taught him to ride lol.
Are you from Colorado? I am and it seems the majority of riding here is western, which disappoints me because I would prefer to learn more English style riding but I doubt I'd find a trainer nearby
@@scarletbishop6289 Yeah, I do live in Colorado. Denver to be exact. I'm a drill rider, and I ride the horse in my profile pic. Her name is Sapphire. If you live out near Erie, there's an english riding place called Plane View Farms. Or if you live out near Brighton, there's the place that I ride at. The instructor does all styles. It's called Promenade Stables
Really amazing I was just wondering with silver he looks like he really comes above the bit 👈 not your fault but have you tried a martingale that could maybe help? Xx lyl
Ok----so here is my question--I see this release a lot in riders overseas----hands low and elbows at the side, but from my training, I was taught hands up much higher (about an inch higher) shorter reins and hands forwards to follow the motion---I'm curious to know the theory/training behind this hand carriage. I see it so much I've always wanted to know! :D Duh---as I'm watching you ride Silver, your hands are far more as I was taught---so my guess is the hand carriage is relative to the horse--though I'm still curious as to the training thought behind it of course. Also, how can you video and coach at the same time? I cannot do that :D
Are you American? If you bend your elbows next to your body you can bend / stretch your elbows to follow the motion of the horses head. If your arms are forward straight sticks you can get pulled out of the saddle easily. What is the theory behind high hands? Your elbow - hands - reins - bit should be in one line
@@lauralvw8445 That's what I was taught too, to keep your elbows, hands, and reins in one line, but sometimes I see dressage riders with hands held high when they push the horse forward in the canter, and you see it a lot in western pleasure riding. I'm not trying to bash any of the disciplines whatsoever. I'm inexperienced, and like Darkhorse3211, I am eager to learn :)
I am in North America yes, and I've been riding for 40 yrs, coaching for 30+. The hand carriage and arm carriage seems to be changing from what I was taught and how I teach and I am very curious to understand the concept behind lower hands---in my training, a hand that is near the wither of the horse is too low, and will cause a horse to be on the forehand. We are taught to keep a bend in our elbow and follow the horse's motion with the ability of the elbow to open and close. When Lauren's boyfriend goes through the grid, he doesn't release how I was taught, and I've seen many riders jump this way and I am curious to understand the concept behind it. Due to the fact many riders are not sized properly (Lauren's boyfriend is quite tall in his upper body), it's possible his hands are lower to keep that line as I never see his arm /elbow lose it's bend. When Lauren is riding Silver, that is how I have been taught to ride and how I ride many horses today. :)
Love it! I have been teaching my BF to ride and he is picking it up so quickly! Where are your boyfriends breeches from? I am struggling to find any that my partner likes but his look perfect!!
that was pretty impressive tbh boo was amazing! he’s obviously a green rider but still good.. although he could be a bit quieter with his body and maybe lock his legs and sit up after the jumps boo is such a powerful horse with a big stride and a very forward jump
He has a great seat but he needs to get his hands out of his lap and pull his lower legs back and under him! He takes correction beautifully though. Very talented.
Just a thought. I understand that you are trying to be dominant but you really don’t need to put that much tension on Silvers mouth. I understand that being dominant is really important but you need to let him have some control so it isn’t uncomfortable for the horse. You can tell he doesn’t like it considering that he throws his head every time you turn and as you are coming up on the jumps.
I'm sorry but how far forward are you boyfriend's legs? That's not a natural position and does not look nice. Yeah his heels are down but the correct portion is to have your heels, hips and shoulders in line. This makes me cringe seeing how far forward they are
GA_ Showjumping I think it’s just how he is, it doesn’t really matter what the position is in this case, as it’s not effecting his riding or the horse.
Onyx Friesian Dressage it might not effect him but it's just the proper riding position, I doubt he is a beginner and it's a bad habit to have your feet that far forward
Silver gets so excited after the big jumps haha he seems really happy with himself
Nice to see Boo still enjoying her jumping 👍🏼
Both horses look really good!! Also that was hilarious when your boyfriend almost ran you over 😂
EquineCass hahaha I love her reaction too, she transformed from trainer to Lauren in a second
Silver looks so thrilled to be jumping 😂 love your vlogs. Your boyfriend is amazing at riding too!
He’s really neat for a big guy! Not to be offensive but most male riders ride very floppy
KirstyKasper 😭😭😭 I DONT jk lol
dogsnm I’ve always thought that! When taking group lessons when I was young I only ever rode with 3 boys in comparison to 100+ girls!
@@dogsnm5911 yeah ikr. strange
I have never seen a tendency for male riders to be floppy. I think its all about how you are taught. Its not a gender thing.
