- I think most will agree that Black and Orange looks much better than Orange and Black on the Nike Mercurial Vapor 12 Elite! Colorway aside, there are common complaints that many have about the new Mercurials that I don't think are 100% valid given my experience with them. Are these as bad as some are making them out to be, or is the Vapor 360 actually really good?

Did you feel that your heel was slipping out in comparison to the Superfly? I tried on my normal size and a half size down and i felt that it wasn't as secure as the Superfly.

This is like what they did with the hypervenom 3. They had a outrageous watermelon colour then they came out with the stroke night pack. I think the original colours of Nike's products are brights so that people can notice it more.

Hi Josh, you said your favourite feature of the Vapor 11 / Superfly 5 was the anatomical soleplate, which meant when you put your foot into the boot it followed the shape of your foot rather than your foot staying flat. Does that feature carry on into the Vapor 12 / Superfly 6, or not?
It does.
Honestly the black version looks good, maybe just as good as the orange, but I'd still choose the orange. The new upper seems to look a lot better, especially in the heel, I like how they added the interior line of orange to the logo. Plus the way the texture fades seems a bit nicer or noticeable on the black version. Also the black laces are pretty sweet looking. The reason I still choose the orange is the color of the sole plate, it just seems off from the rest of the boot in the black version. Additionally it doesn't match the orange on the rest of the boot very well, and the pearlescent on the heel. I also thinking about the longevity of the boot overtime the color of the blacks version sole plate will fade much worse and turn into a faded brownish color of orange after a some games as. If they would've done the same sole plate color like the original orange or like the adidas ace 16+ pure control black/ solar green did it would've looked overall better.

I can see why some people are bummed that the superfly and the vapor are basically the same boot. Personally I'm a superfly guy, and I've been trying to get myself into vapors but I just didn't like them. I just received the new flyknit vapors in the mail yesterday, and honestly it makes me contemplate on switching to the vapor now. I'm stoked they finally made a low cut superfly, and I think people need to try them for sure and decide for themselves before randomly jumping to conclusions.

I like these black ones, great alternative colorway. But what kills me about the the New Mercurials/ Mercurial 360 is that the swoosh is on your toes not the outside of your foot!!!!!!
I know you briefly mentioned in the video but I have heard many people say that the upper is very stiff, especially out of the box, more so than other generations of mercurials. Is this your opinion or do you think they will become just as flexible as other mercurials after some wear time?

Hopefully we get a red colourway a lot quicker sooner compared to when it came out for the Superfly V, I've the CR7 Superfly V's but the season ends in April/May and I'll probably get these when I start again for the next season depending on the colourways, Superfly V's are great to wear but depending how I put them on and tighten the laces, the flywire cable on the outside of my left foot some times will put pressure on my foot making it sore af
I dig this colorway so much more than the orange dominant one. Orange just isn't a color I want as the main color on my boots

I think if the small swoosh was rotated counter clockwise maybe 45 degrees or so then the shoe would look a lot better. Needs to have a more streamlined look. Black colorway looks good though. The striations in the upper look good with the black.

I reckon the first take down of the Flyknit Vapor would have a Teijin synthetic, but probably without the ACC.
Josh did you experience any slight heel slipping the first time you wore the vapors? My pair arrived on Friday and while trying to break them in I could feel a bit of slipping, the size feels near perfect but I'm concerned this may be a consistent problem while wearing?

I think the swoosh near the toe of the cleat should be rearranged back to its traditional spot, which was more towards the side instead of the middle, it looked good to me.

Would you personally recommend the superfly 6 elite or the vapor 12 Elite as an AG option? I know they’re basically the same shoe, minus the collar, but I’ve heard the collar helps you keep the rubber pellets out, but not sure if it makes a big enough difference. Thanks!
The Collar on the Superfly will definitely help with keeping rubber pellets out.

Josh, what is the point of an anatomical soleplate if the insole is a standard design? Shouldn't the insole be anatomical for the best lockdown?
The insole is just foam. It has not structure to it. As soon as you're standing on top of it, it presses down into the shape of the soleplate.

I feel like the Vapor 12 is a slightly improved variation of the Flyknit Ultra. I really like the grippy finish on the upper of the Flyknit Ultra, but I think the Vapor 12 just fits better, or at least more comfortably for me. Fit is what I always prioritize.

They're definitely tighter in comparison to Hypervenoms.

It would all depend on what type of fit and feel that you're looking for. You've named for boots that are all very different from each other.
Do you think Nike will make a split anti-clog soleplate for the vapor/superfly?
Ive been trying to find information about acc from nike. And all ive found is that people believe it really does something. But nike wont say what it actually is. So its one of 2 things. A spray or coating thats added on the outside, that is suppose to provide traction. Or 2, its treated synthetic or treated flyknit that is then woven or put on the soleplate which then adds more water repellancy to the boot. Which I'm leaning towards the second choice. I hope its not the first one, but its the cheapest. The second is more time consuming which costs money. But i dont think we will ever know for sure, 100% what it is fully.
I believe it's a treatment process to the material of the upper.

I think it has the 2 names because they make these months in advanced, and design these even way before that. So they had the initial name and then changed it recently. Thats my idea and thought on the name.
Have to say Nike has made a big mistake with the Mercurial Vapor 12. It is not as tight fit as on last years model, Vapor 11.When you turn quickly on the field, or make a hard, long pass, you can feel the foot slip inside the shoe. The sides in the front of the shoe is not as tight as before, which is a big mistake by Nike.I had to buy Trusox antislide socks and it helped a bit, but still feel the slipping. I have tried everywhere to get hold of the Vapor 11, but its sold out. I hope Nike sees the mistake, and make a shoe with tighter fit for 2019. And also with the same material as Vapor 11. Weight is not everything, the feel of the shoe is the most important.

What do you think is the reason why several pro players are changing this during the game? Could it be the lack of breaking time? How the breaking time compares to something like a Superfly 5 or a Flyknit Ultra?
I think the reasons differ depending on the player. Boots are a very personal thing in that everyone feels comfortable in something new at different rates. Not to mention superstition as well. You really have to look at each situation individually. I don't the players that are switching are all switching for the same reasons.

That's entirely up to you and what you want, as well as how soon you need them. They're both great, just different.

Not at all. Were they too big? There really isn't any reason why they'd feel like that unless they were just too big.

No. They run true to size.

If they change the placement of the Nike swoosh it will look a lot better.

Not at all. The marketing behind that boot was for the sake of increasing the power of your shot, which I don't think it did. Never did they mention insole slippage prevention. They're similar in some ways, but also completely different.

I have multiple problems with all my boots which is purechaos, superfly 5, Nike hypervenom(V2,like green)
With my purechaos, it’s snug but my big toe tends to feel compressed.
With my superfly, it is almost comfortable however I keep getting heel blisters.
With my hypervenom, the sole of my feet feels like it is getting crushed
I don’t have a wide feet but more of a flat feet. I have added in currexsole insoles but still have the same problems. Could you suggest me some boots/cleats that would fit me?
I'd try something with a leather upper.

They're not exactly the same.
josh you gotta do more arm streching my guess its that your too stiff and when you make those movements it crack cause its like flexing a wood board but dont overdo the streching part dont force it
