Thanks for this I have been struggling with how to get started with copilot, this has really been of help. Easy to understand and simplified process 👍👍👍👍👍👍

I have copilot studio tenant and user licenses as well as copilot licenses. When I create a Copilot for Microsoft 365 agent, it publishes just fine but when I try to add it to copilot in teams I get a "Something went wrong" error when no other explaination. When I use the link it tries to install it and click Add/Install it does nothing. I've tried creating multiple agents like this, all with the same result. Any ideas? 365 Support has not been helpful.

The authentication settings? or maybe whoever runs your teams has blocked that action?

How creating such agents will be useful?
Is it possible that they analysed more data than original copilot?

These are targeted agents which only focus on the configured data sources. Of course Copilot is aware of these files, but it's also aware of thousands or potentially millions of other files in the tenant which will be used as the source. Having targeted agent with custom system prompt - will give you more accurate answers specifically on those files which you want - without considering ALL the files in the tenant. With system prompt tuning, you can then also adjust the tone, behavior and experience of the custom agent vs the Microsoft 365 Copilot.

@MicrosoftCommunityLearning yeah got it , overall it affects the answers that custom agent will give . But stills the files from which it is searching about specific topic remains same for both cases .also the servers and processors it's using will also remain same .
Or is there any agent specific server's alloted ?

The fact that everyone in my organisation needs additional paid copilot licences just to use the agents is not helpful. The users who would benefit most, eg new employees or those needing to access a SP agent FAQ may not have a licence meaning they couldn't use this helpful bot. I can make a custom copilot and share with everyone in teams (usable without additional licence) but a more helpful full sharepoint agent requires thousands of my company users to pay more. Honestly it's rediculous and it's clearly just to get more money from each user when it couldn't be helpful to many people. Why can I make a custom copilot for my team and they can access it but not a custom agent for a sharepoint site they already have access to? Why was this done? Is money really the only reason? Seems a giant shame.

When your are using SharePoint agents, not all employees will need to have paid copilot license. You can take advantage of the pay-as-you-go option and also the promotional offer valid at least until June 2025 - see more from techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/microsoft365copilotblog/ignite-2024-sharepoint-agents-now-in-general-availability/4298746

SharePoint Agents will support pay-as-you-go option which will NOT require full Microsoft 365 Copilot license for everyone in the organization. More details on this coming in early 2025 - it was included in the Ignite 2024 announcements.
