Jimin is not only good in dancing and singing but he's also good at writing his own lyrics, Jimin does not only have writing credits on every song of his first album called FACE. he also recorded the background sounds for interlude: dive, he has guitar credits on letter and has keyboard credits on Face off.

The dark liquid is not oil but mud. Mud in a dream symbolizes being stuck in a rut. The song is about escapism and the entire mv happens in a dreamscape. The club setting where you drink and party the night away is the perfect representation of trying to escape from your problems and pain, yet the mud are reminders that your shit remains.
The shot where you wondered whether it's CGI or real is real btw! You could see in the behind-the-scenes video that the sets were constructed to do all those cool tricks.
And yes haha, the fun and youthful club visuals are meant to play up against the sense of escapism and loneliness/isolation/general feelings of depression that are some of the themes in Like Crazy. It's a great MV, great song, one of my favorites from the group.
Nathan, you always make me hear so much more than I do on my own! How do you do that??? A deep true musician’s and producer’s perspective makes listening such a different experience. Out of all the solo work, so far Jimin’s album is my favorite. I love every song. I hope you’ll listen to the entire album. Every song is a gem.

I would love to see your interpretation of Jimin's performance of Lie. There's no MV, but several live performances.
I've seen many musician reactors say it's musically interesting on many levels. One was classical musicians react, and also, Andrew Berg. They seemed very interested in the way it was written musically. Lyric wise, it's also interesting, then there's his dance to it💜💜💜

When I first watched it I kind of thought feel-good party song, but very soon I began to look at it SO differently, like completely opposite, and it also makes more sense in the context of the full album. And of course BTS make such profound, thought-provoking art and this song and video is SO much more than simply a feel-good party song that you might think upon first listen/viewing. There's just so much that be interpreted and there could be many themes, which is what's so beautiful about the art that they create. The "she" in the beginning could be the woman/his reflection, himself, or even the alcohol. I interpreted loneliness, escapism, numbing/drowning in something to not face yourself, to numb the pain. And the bridge at the end, the pure desperation and conviction, the pleading, how it feels so disoriented... Honestly as someone almost four years sober it hit pretty hard. So proud and in awe of Jimin
Yes, once you catch up to the escapism/avoidance aspect (very easy to recognize if you are aware of having engaged in it yourself) the video and the song itself hit very differently. I have come to think BTS as a whole are very good at writing songs in “code”, like spies do. With codes, most people will hear one conversation but the people “in the know” the hidden/coded message is intended for will hear that one instead.

♦Jimin mentioned that one of his fav movies “Like Crazy” inspired parts of the song aside from the title of song. In the beginning as well as ending to the song, he even uses excerpt wordings, with voice over actors using dialogue more in tune with song, from it. Jimin has also said that many of the songs on the album convey what he was going through, his thoughts, his feelings, his emotions as well as despair & depression, during the pandemic in the last few yrs. He also was hoping that maybe it could help others by way of relating & going through similar difficulties during pandemic. So this song Like Crazy, could also be during that time, thinking back while laying his head down, on table in that depressing small room, dreaming of the better times in the past, when he was free to enjoy himself, as well as being with someone or with friends, or even around ppl in general, being able to be free to go out & party. Which is why he even said in the lyrics please don’t wake me up from this dream. I want to stay here.. Maybe, since dirt or mud means despair, that was what all the dirty grimyness including on his hands in the end, also represented, despair of situation, how he felt or how things were at that time, even when it seemed to even ooze into his dream state.

I really hear the Jazz when you broke it down. My brain hears all the 80s sounds I grew up with 😂 and 100% agree with the club experience.
For a really interesting Jimin song, you should check out Lie. There is no MV other than what is for the BTS universe storyline.
There are some good lyric channels that don't rip off the artist and the translations are pretty good. BBTS9717, Dial and AF Taehyung are all good channels to check for lyrics. And Jimin has an amazing live for Lie.
For a BTS song, I would actually love to see you react to a live of Dimple and Pied Piper. There is a video that has the two together. Enjoy BTS more channel likely will have it.

I have always felt that getting ready to go somewhere is much more fun that actually being there. The "getting ready", the anticipation.....it never is matched by the actual experience! At least in my history....

There is a really great playlist on Spotify called "Drive (playlist inspired by movie soundtrack)" and its all very synthy neo 80s vibe songs which I love (because I am old and grew up in the 80s lol 😅)
Anyway, I also love Jimin's voice, he has such a unique tone. His solo songs are always great - Serendipity, Filter, Lie, Set Me Free Pt. 2---all great songs.
For music other than BTS would love to see you check out some other Kpop - TXT is great (they just are an amazing pop group) and I also love a band called Xdinary Heroes (love almost almost all their stuff but my current fave songs are Good Enough and Dear H.)

Love your breakdown, didn't realise the jazz tunes. The Mv and song is an immersive experience into his dream like state being caught in depression and uncertainty when they had to halt and cancel all actitivites during the pandamic. The thermal images with the synth was an unusual take . The " I'd rather be lost in the lights" is telling of how a performer feels, to have to stop and the fear to have to wake up from the dreamworld they are in.
you need to watch Jimins documentary about the prodution of his face album, you will see how music genius Jimin is, thats why his dances is amazing too
