Being new to woodworking I try to make things that are original. I spend a lot of time learning what each tool in the shop does while then trying to perfect the skills needed to use those tools to make original pieces. Thanks for the inspiration.

      @nagualdesign 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Audio mixing? Really?! I had to turn the volume up and down throughout to cut out the annoying music and hear what's being said. Here's a tip: the less music the better. Of all the people that are interested in woodworking, only a fraction will share your taste in music. You may think it sounds great but to most people it ranges from uninteresting to outright annoying, especially when you start "mixing" like that (ie, turning the music up louder than the dialogue.
      I'm annoyed. Can you tell? :-)

      @shaunboydmadethis  5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @nagualdesign 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@shaunboydmadethis Really? You think that, based on an absence of evidence, 99.997% of viewers share your taste in music?
      Try watching this video while imagining you don't really like the music, and see if the volume going up and down bothers you.
      Or don't, and just keep telling yourself that everything's great. It makes no difference to me.

    @hotrodhog2170 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I can see this being a huge hit for the Millennial outdoorsy type folks! You just need a small heating pad so your coffee stays warm and a solar panel to power it! Oh, don't forget a coaster. Maybe that drawer could pull out to set on top as a coaster! Did Jonathan take your magic funnel? Ain't seen it in awhile.

    • @shaunboydmadethis
      @shaunboydmadethis  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha, you are totally right! Bespoke camping gear. The funnel is obsolete, Jonathan just shows up whenever he wants now.

    I dig it..! I think a " backpack " version would be a great addition to this line of design... Give it multi function such as the "one cup" " stove stand" " camera stand" etc... I can see this design if tweeked a wee bit filling the gap...

    Hey Shaun, a couple of things: 1) I made this table for myself and I'm loving it. 2) there are people in my sphere who are asking me to make them one.
    So, I have some questions: first, how much money would you charge for this item? Second, how much money do I owe you for using your amazing intellectual property (seriously)?

    • @shaunboydmadethis
      @shaunboydmadethis  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Caleb, sorry for not getting back to you quicker! That is awesome you made your own version of this table. Pricing is always hard for me, but I sold this particular piece for $200 (including shipping). As far as owing me anything for making these, don't worry about it! Unless you land a huge deal to sell these in Target or something, then we can talk about royalties haha!

    SBMT...BDCOYT! Math, coffee and Leo D! How could it get much better. Brilliant! I made some golf tees this summer with a similar set up for cutting 60 degrees. Talk about a useless thing to do. Four hours later I'd made enough tees for one round of golf...sheesh.

    • @shaunboydmadethis
      @shaunboydmadethis  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      HahaI I hear ya! I have had some people ask me about making golf tees before, and I always imagine making a tee just to break it on the first hole.

    Absolutely ridiculous project but elegantly done and some very useful techniques employed so certainly a worthwhile endeavor. When you were cutting the angles on the sled were you going just past the center so you wouldn't be left with a flat spot when you cut the other half of the angle?

    • @shaunboydmadethis
      @shaunboydmadethis  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jeremy, glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, you are right about eliminating a flat spot, which technically wouldn't matter if you did have one, but I needed as much width as possible to get the magnets in there.
