Glad to see others on a similar journey. JBP’s work and reading list has done much to enrich my life, so it’s warming to see others encountering his and Jung’s contributions. Cheers!

Hey man thanks for making these reviews! I’m going through his list myself and just ordered Archetypes and the collective unconscious.

Really enjoyed the video. I recently started reading Jung and agree with a lot of the things he says. I see that you're just starting out your YT journey and had a few questions for you, what made you want to start your channel, what mental/emotional need or problem do you see in the world that isn't being serviced very well, and what's your ultimate goal with your channel? I've thought about starting my own channel, releasing a book, or something like that, but I feel there's so much I don't know yet. Thanks for your time

Thanks so much for your kind comment here.
Some good questions too. I'll number them to make sure I don't lose track.
      1. I think I am doing this for the same reasons I write: to part out what I think. Writing them down helps me to understand but I found that I needed to say it as well. Speaking about ideas made me realize that writing and speaking are only related and not the same.
      2. The mental/emotional need I think is not being serviced well is healthy development. We seem to be focused on pathology and don't tell people what they can do if/when they are generally health of mind. What is our ultimate North Star and how do we get there? A lot of the help people seem to get is practical, helping them to navigate our social structures but nothing beyond that.
      3. My ultimate goal? I'll have to think about that. I should have one but I don't, or at least I haven't articulated it.. I do know that I want to start some discussions with people and get them up here. It's hard to find people that want to talk about deep ideas and I know that I need more of that in my life.

@@mattersofmind5391 I totally agree that people are just taught the very basics of how to socialize, but never how to really understand themselves and be kind to others. I feel we live in a time where antagonizing others is used as an outlet and drama is entertainment. Part of that, I believe, is that life is comfortable and slow, and people don't introspect enough to find meaningful goals or habits.
Sorry I took a while to respond, things have been pretty busy, but I also want to start articulating my own thoughts on video and see if I could create a platform for healthy introspection, thought, and discussion.
You seem pretty comfortable on camera, was that always the case or did you practice anything to feel more comfortable?

@@excellerantmfg no worries my friend. I have little ones, a job and a million other things so I understand how that goes.
I spend a lot of time reading and writing, and then speaking for work. I present a lot. That's probably why I feel comfortable. I've also stopped reading a script for myself which I think helps. I just look at the concept I wrote, and then speak to the camera letting myself make mistakes. I think it makes it more real.

We all, without batting an eye, accept as a fact that we go unconscious 1/3rd of our lives, receive meaningful messages from these experiences that can and cannot be attributed to a collective conscious, have no idea what higher thought and consciousness is. Yet we are quick to claim that everything there is to know is material and reducible.
It's like I say to my roommate before I turn the lights off, "Bye until morning, I am going to leave my current state of being to receive communications from God and to heal body and mind". Just like that we both fall asleep.

*have no idea what higher thought and consciousness is. Yet we are quick to claim that everything there is to know is material and reducible*
What we ascertain as material and 'spiritual' or 'supernatural' is all happening in reality. Our understanding of this reality or 'material' world is ever expanding, as is our definition of said understanding.
In other words the material world encompasses what we know and don't know.
