This is a short video on how we have been keeping our horseshoe crab alive and well in our RAS. We have also tried extracting some of that blue-ish horseshoe crab blood!

Cute music can’t hide the entrapment and torture of an innocent creature 🤣👍

Any thoughts of doing this on a larger scale? Perhaps an environmentally friendly coastal pen with consulting a biologist and government permission.

We extract and export the blue blood from the African giant snails. Same chemical composition.

I was just looking to invest in green mud crabs but this takes it to a higher level. Their blood is hella profitable

scorpion venoms, as well as certain snake venoms, are a lot more expensive. There is a larger market for the horseshoe crab so farming these makes a lot more sense.

So you basically pulled its blood and traumatized it for no good reason? Nice..

It's allready traumatized from living over months in a tiny puddle of calcy water

No reason? Their blood is highly valued in medicine and has saved many human lives. Don't be ridiculous.

@@xxfalconarasxx5659Nobody should be allowed to live, messing with pathogens. Make your own blood valuable and durable. there are other methods of sterilation, and other ways that can literally manufacture the similar components of blood, instead of recklessly interacting with the creature, older than your species, as a whole.
