Speaking of loss of equipment on Ukrainian side, I still remember something Putin mentioned in one of his interviews back in early 2023. He simply said "Ukrainian strategy of relying on foreign weapons aid to fight a war of this magnitude is not sustainable. They will end up with a variety of different weapons systems that are going to create a mess of logistics. These are complex systems. How are they going to repair those? You can't fight a war like this while relying entirely on foreign donations" and then he chuckled. Love him or hate him - now looking back, the guy was spot on. May be he already knew what kind of a war he wanted this to be, but I find it really interesting for him to make such a bold statement in a public forum at a time Ukraine was literally getting flooded with NATO supplies.

US soldier (private) earns around U$2500 a month.. a Russian soldier earns 3.5x a month more then a US soldier this is not even mentioning the extra U$ 8000 just to enlist, around U$ 500 - U$ 1500 a month from local governments, combat bonuses, a death benefit for family of which the government would pay the dependents a widow, kids etc his salary up until she remarries/die etc which means she never has to work again just raise the kids comfortably!!! Also Healthcare of Russia is amongst the best in the world which is free!!! Not just to soldiers but everyone living in Russia... Unlike US War veterans living in the streets in their 10's of thousand, dirt poor, suffering mental traumas, addictions etc, this however is not the case in Russia!!! The biggest problem in Ukraine now is that poor ordinary people and the bottom in the east are bleeding to defend the Motherland, while Zelensky and the richer people in Kiev and the west are driving sports cars, clubbing, enjoying, why should the people at the bottom shed blood and pay, and the people in the west can bribe with money? Moreover, Ukraine has been discriminating against ethnic Russia in eastern Ukraine since the color revolution in 2014 and has been shelling the east, how can such a government defeat the aggressor if it cannot even unite its own people? And Ukraine was doomed to fail at the very beginning of the war, a large number of state-owned assets and resources were purchased by the West with military weapons and loans, even if the Russia was driven out of the Ukraine, there was not much left for ordinary Ukraine, and all that remained was countless ruins, as well as a large amount of United States and Western debts, and Russia just lost what they did not have, and Ukraine was doomed to fail when the war just began, and now it is unlikely that they want to stop the war, Russia do not want to stop, Because Russia sees the possibility of complete annexation of Ukraine, and United States does not want to stop, why not weaken Russia with the blood of Ukraine? Only Ukraine is involuntary and slaughtered, it is really the most pitiful and pathetic country in the 21st century, but the Ukraine people have obtained "Western" democratic freedoms, and when the color revolution in Ukraine succeeds, it is doomed to today's end. If you don't eat at the table, you can only cook the dishes on the table. Obviously, Ukraine has always been a dish, and United States, NATO, the European Union and Russia are gulping up the tuna of Ukraine, but Russia is stuck in the bone.

They had their own partisan war from 1944 to 1950, but the Soviets spared some of them, and now the Russians are fighting to revert the effects of that decision.

Hello! A very interesting video, but I want to point out one inaccuracy. I live in Russia, and recently the payments and the number of awards and various bonuses to those who signed the contract have been enormous. For example, you said about a payment of 800 thousand rubles, but at the moment the signing of the contract is accompanied by 1,200,000 rubles as one-time support and another 400 thousand from each region. The total signing of the contract already amounts to 1,600,000, which is a little more).

They partially drafted them in 2022 but decided not to do that again and instead offer money to volunteers.

@@marcowulliampopirers2216 There are only volunteer contract soldiers at the front. The draft for compulsory military service is as usual. My friends say that at the end of their conscription service they were offered to sign a contract, but it is voluntary. No one forces them.

    Former Russian contract serviceman here
About the 1-2 year contracts that do not allow you to leave before SMO ends - it is truth, when your contract expires you are automatically become mobilized personel, your salary increases and you get bonuses and stuff, but you cannot leave the military until the end of SMO. However, this applies to all contract servicemen, including those outside SMO, and not all of them (or more acuratly almost none of them) to go SMO
