    Hello!
I am in the same situation and getting ready to buy the new screen...
    I have one doubt...
Do the front button illuminate if you press the side ones?
Mine don't so I am not sure if my front buttons are broken or not.
My button light comes on only if I press HOME but not if I press menu or back...
    Is this normal?

Thank you for the great fix it vid.. i read of all the fails on this phone for people trying to fix in their own, and decided i wouldn't attempt unless i saw a video that i thought i could do, which ended up being yours. Im used to doing these micro type fixes and this one was a p.i.t,a, took me over two hrs but it wss a success.. hardest part, which i figured, was getting the back screen off, but i just kept heating more and more with a heat gun on liw setting until i was able to get in...thanks again, cost me $75 in parts but was better than having to buy a new phone!

Thanks for the video i watched thr entire thing but i feel you skipped some key discussion points along the way like what if your lcd is working and you just need the front glass replaced? If people just follow your actions they will destroy there LCD and will only have a front glass to replace. You should have discussed if the LCD is good how to carefully seperate thr front glass. Second. You never show how much heat to apply to get the covers off. Someone doing it for the first time may over heat and blow the battery up. Showing how much time you spent with a hair dryer or heat gun would be benefical. Lastly when you applied the Lcd you didnt tell us what you did to attach the top piece that was hanging from the new lcd. I know you are providing a free video but your receiving likes and subscribes which is why all videos are made. These missed critical steps could cause great danger and expensive additional needed repairs to first timers. Thanks.

  • @anonymous3221

I know I’m grave digging, but just watching this video years later to fix an old S7 that I’ve had sitting around. It’s funny how people rail on Apple for making their devices hard to repair when Samsung was over here making you take apart the entire phone (just about) to get to something as basic as the screen. You pop off a few screws on any iPhone released around the same time, undo the connectors and out came your screen. I haven’t attempted to repair much in the Android world so maybe that means everything else is easier to get to on a Samsung, but still. Screens are probably one of the most common of repairs needing to be done.

This video is mislabeled. It is a replacement of the LCD, and the glass. IT IS NOT FOR PEOPLE WHO JUST WANT TO REPLACE THE GLASS !!! Be careful removing the front. This guy is rough and removes the broken LCD with the glass. If you want to replace JUST the glass, and you follow the instructions based on the misleading title, you will have likely destroyed your LCD or at minimum made your repair significantly more complicated.

I hope that they can fix my Samsung Galaxy S7 that my ex broke 4 days before my birthday, and it can turn on again. I hope that I can get all of my contacts, apps, music, text message history, call log history, pictures and my notes etc because I never backed anything up before my ex broke it 🙏🏾🙇🏾‍♀️😇🤞🏾.

I know this phone's back and front is useless, but he should've tried to demonstrate doing it carefully so others who don't want to buy completely new replacements for both don't end up ruining their original fine parts. He was being super rough on the phone and touching broken bits of glass with bare hands without much care.

  • @stevepalmer8938

A few cringe worthy observations. Excessive pressure / use of METAL pry tool, rather than plastic. A nice bit of battery damage @ 9:26, the white section in middle, damaged from being too aggressive with the metal pry tool. I never use metal pry tools, the hard plastic ones limit the damage to the device (but do not last as long). They also assist greatly in reconnecting all the ribbon cables & other connectors, w/o damage. Note: these batteries are very delicate and any external damage could cause charging issues or internal shorting of the cells (Samsung Batteries are known to have issues w/o any damage). Nice big thumb print on the camera (hope it was cleaned off correctly before re-assembly). Also, I see lots of dents / scratches on the frame / housing from the metal pry tool. Also, no ESD precautions were used? Also, should have cleaned the backside of frame of all broken glass & debris before reinstalling the PCB's. Why on earth after spending all the time / money too repair the front LCD, would you re-install a broken up back cover? Literally, the meaning of half-ass repair. Just my observations & Disappointment in the quality of workmanship.

You are exposed ... Hence Thumbs down ... Remember when ever you work with delicate electronics gadgets ..... better get rid of all your jewels from your hands including Wrist Watch... Also you don't clean up the phone after removing the glass .. that's rubbish .. use alcohol swab to clean the glue and blow dry it. ... Any way I like d your attempt .. But try not to fool.. Cheers!
