People are gonna freak out about what the captain said, but the number one thing I absolutely hate is when people or companies are NOT transparent. Be as transparent as possible, even when its life-threatening, who cares about the panic, the truth matters and I commend the captain for the honesty. Transparency and knowing how things work is what makes me feel safe.
I never got to fly overseas the only planes l had the pleasure to fly with was domestic flights in the seventies The name of the company's where Ansett and TAA and😢 The Only international flights where AND still going THE FLYING KANGAROO QAUNTAS AUSTRIAN AIRLINES WHICH I AM NOT HAVING A GO AT ANY OTHER OVERSEAS COMPANY'S I AM NOT LIKE THAT ALTHOUGH SOME OF OUR DOMESTIC FLIGHTS WHERE BETTER THAN SOME GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND MANY HAPPY AND SAFE TRAVELS FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY GOD BLESS WARREN AND INGRID MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺🇦🇺🤠🤠🦘🦘❤️❤️✝️✝️😇😇👧👧
Spoiled here, too. My last trip from SEA to HNL was a DC-10 with UA in 1991. Really miss those days. Miss the old SeaTac airport before the renovations as well.
Hey Traveler, what do we see here? Southwest, British Airways, Qatar Airways ??, and Lufthansa !! Must be nice being able to spend a few days in Hawaii, island hopping !! If you can't be IN Alaska, at least FLY Alaska, right ?? Gotta catch the last rays of the setting sun on the wingtip as we turn. Gear Drop 5:28:11 AND a Million Dollar Sunset in addition !! This one was better than the other Island Hopper sunset the other day. Dropping in the Terminal Side Runway ... Aloha and Welcome to Honolulu.
And he's off on his Super-Amazing Race around the world. Yep, that was Phil Koeghan who handed you that clue there. Be sure to read if VERY carefully. So many teams mess up royally on that. Yep, there's Angle Lake. Looks like you went over Commencement Bay. There's Anderson Island. That looked like the Key Peninsula there. Yep, there's Olympia and Evergreen State College. They don't give grades at that school. This can present challenges for people who want a structured environment, but that school is great for people who are self-directed, like artists. One of my friends was like that. She was very artistically inclined so the unstructured scholastic environment worked nicely for her, was right up her alley, just what the doctor ordered. Yep, there's Steamboat Island. And there are the Black Hills. And there's the Chehalis River Valley. And there's South Bend, Raymond and Willapa Bay. That's when you KNOW you're in Pacific County. Yep, there's Long Beach. That's the longest single beach on the entire US West Coast. There's are dozens of species of birds there. That whole area is an estuary and a wildlife preserve. And there's Cape Disappointment and Fort Warrenton State Park on the other side of the mouth of the Columbia River. One of these days, you're going to need to go to Cape Disappointment on ground level. You get to see where the Columbia meets the Pacific where the Columbia is on one side and the Pacific is on the other. Anyhow, I feel jet lagged form watching your video... think I'll watch some episodes of Buffy The Vampire Slayer on Tubi TV to rest up. I was watching the ones where Willow Rosenberg goes berserk with dark magic powers after that misogynist geek guy shoots and kills her girlfriend. They took some scenes right out of The Terminator there.
Hey Scott, I wanted to tell you, Im a History major so I've taken a seminar class on Indigenous Peoples and am currently in a US Environmental History class with an emphasis on Environmental Justice so everything you mention sounds familiar since a lot of both of these classes focus was on the PNW.
Pilots speech was honest...but SCARY and not reassuring about the radio being disfunctional. Im a professional bus driver and not sure I would give that info to the general public. He couldve just said we are haveing a maintenence issue that we are in the process of addressing.
I appreciate it when pilots are direct and to the point. What drives me nuts is when they're vague. Like, we're all adults here. Just tell us what the problem is haha. Thanks for watching guys!
Yes, it was. In fact, it's been gone for over 2 years now. Alaska removed them from service and repainted them in October of 2023. Alaska was in a legal battle with Virgin group over the Virgin America brand and lost. They got rid of those liveries as soon as they could when that was over.
Praise to the captain for being funny and honest at the same time!

I agree. I'd rather know what's going on than get some vague story that just leaves everyone guessing.
I'm spoiled. The last trip I took from SEA to HNL was a 747 with UA. Gone are the days of space and comfort.

Yep. My last was on a UA 707. Return on a Pan Am.
I was 10-years-old in 1970, when my family flew to HNL from SFO on United's first 747. My brother and I were in awe. So much fun for kids!
Good lord what a beautiful landing
Mysterious landing! ✨
Nice Panorama 👍🏻
