"How dare you talk to me like that?" Like what? Calm and resonable? This is exactly why "respect your elders does not make any sense". It should go "respect who respects you".
Beatrice is always quick to turn things into an accusation. Her problem with Athena is that Athena grew up to be too strong. Strong enough that she didn't live her life according to Beatrice's plans for her. Bobby is sparing Athena another argument with her mother.
She is acting like an adult who isnt being respected in her own home. Is she being stubborn and short sighted and trying to deny the truth? Sure. But if she was younger rather than overruling and carrying on without her input they would be arguing it out. It is her home. She lives there. Athena doesnt. How would you feel if a relative showed up at your house and jsut started making decisions about how things should be renivated.
When I was young, my grandparents used to live with us until their passing. And I always notice my mother scolding them like little kids. And she always say, "I will never be stubborn as you when I will be in your age". But now, omg! She's starting to be as stubborn as my grandmother 🤣🤣🤣🤣 so I just joke to her and tell her what she always tell my grandmother. "Don't be as stubborn as Lola, you said that to her last time" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
1:25 So much foreshadowing in this scene for season 6, episode 3 (which is the next episode that aired after this one) and I love the way that the writers set up this storyline and Angela Bassett was just phenomenal!
True !! Seriously my parents act like children n I know we not supposed to talk back n etc but I’ll admit I slip n be disrespectful cuz it’s hard taking care of someone who treats you like crap n I’m a ignorant ass so lol but I ask for forgiveness/// cuz I bet it’s hard n painful for them they use to do everything n I get it :( ❤❤❤ love your parents y’all ❤
Athena is right about this even my dad is like her's but her mother is just so mean person she'll never understand how things works or that her husband is going to have more time to walk again.
The whole your parents become kids thing is such ageist bull. To ge clear Im not a senior being stubborn on this. Im a thirty year old who's watched my uncle carry this mindset with my grandmother for a decade. Normally I love Athena but this is bull. Its her mother's house, her mother has her faculties, and so you do not just go making decisions for her like she doesnt. And for the record if you find older people to be like chuldren you might concider why and whether it might because you treat both as if they arent sentient individuals deserving of their own agency. You can think some is beign stubborn. You can think they are being stupid. That does not mean you simply overrule them.
Bobby is The Man. He respected his mother-in-law while still stands up for his wife.
Bobby and Athena are goals 😢
At the end of the next episode Bobby apologizes to his MIL and she tells him "never apologize for defending my daughter".
@@jessecarliner7733 When you earn the respect of a true family matriarch, you know you are good.
One thing bout Bobby, he don’t play behind his wife. PeriodT
Bobby always stood up for Athena, just like Athena always stood up for him!
Bobby has a lot of respect for Athena’s family I respect Bobby 100%
“Guess I’ll go to my room. Like a child.”
Hey, it’s all in the mindset.
I like how Bobby did that. He stood up for Athena while at the same time being respectful to her mother.
Facts. Parenting parents is so difficult & exhausting.
Bobby is thoughtful and kind, NOBODY IS GOING TO BE DIRESPECTFUL TO HIS FAM ESPECIALLY ATHENA!! ❤❤
"How dare you talk to me like that?"

"I guess I'll go to my room - like a child"
I mean, when you act like one 🤷🏾♀️

Well, seeing how you’re acting like one 🙄…

I absolutely adore Bobby in this episode.

This brings back memories of my family. Different circumstances but similar temperaments on both sides.
Same
The way Bobby didn’t look up… I just realized this after watching that S7 ep about his childhood
"Guess ill go to my room , like a child" well if the shoe fits old bat

Twins cuz I gotta walk out of the room before I slap a bitch😂😂😂😂😂
Beatriz literally reminded me of my grandmother. Thinking she's right and it only results in acting like a child and getting yelled at like one
Athena‘s mother certainly is a charming lady
I was so happy when they got together. Love Bobby
1:11 Act like a child, get treated like a child.

🎶LIVE AND LEEEEEARN🎶
At least he went back and apologized later
Why would he need to? He was respectful but stopped her from being toxic to his wife.
Some people consider talking like that as disrespectful to their elders @@kristi2305 ! My grandmother is one of these people.
@@DarianHarder Some people also consider the Earth to be flat. Both are wrong and those people should be ignored. '
Old people seriously think because they’ve lived a while that gives them a right to act however way they want. Ridiculous lol

Idk if I could deal with a monster in law
She should go to her room like a child because she is acting like one.
Well when you act like you’re gonna get treated like one
Act like a child at ANY age get treated like a child at that current age.
I remember Beverly Todd from Claras Heart.
Used to have a crush on her. Great Actress!
Athena is right about this even my dad is like her's but her mother is just so mean person she'll never understand how things works or that her husband is going to have more time to walk again.
I feel for Athena. Her mother is a self centered woman who thinks her opinion is the only one that matters
Este capitulo fue muy apasionante,fenomenal
Spoiler 🚨 alert 🚨: Junior ended up being a killer right ?
its because you were acting like a child....
