Well...... 1. Chase is right. Knee on belly is designed to (not only be uncomfortable) but control the opponents hips and middle torso. A lot of people talk ish on McGregor's Grappling but the reality is you cant limb to the level he did without good takedown defense. I used to be a fan of McGregor but now I put him in the same boat as Jon Jones. He is His own Hardest opponent.
Knee on belly: the posting foot should be far enough from the opponent that they can’t pummel for it, and so your weight is on the knee and not the post. And the foot should be actually on the floor. Respectfully, as a white belt myself.

He's rolling with a white/blue belt so there's no need to go full throttle and execute everything by the book. You play around under those circumstances. White belt take by Hooper.
He likely wasn't doing knee on belly properly because it was a flow roll and didn't want to put his full weight on his sternum, especially a smaller guy. its about how rough his technique is while flow rolling, not whether or not connor could submit the other grappler in the other positions prior to the armbar. Sean and because you’re not a grappler I honestly don’t expect you to see what he’s doing wrong here. He doesn’t look good very robotic and his movements he does look like a white belt just learning . now I will say this about Connor he is the biggest anti-grappler I’ve ever seen fight. with that being said, he can win most fights, having his athletic abilities, and one punch knockout power. That means he learned when a grappler takes him down he can get back up really good and avoid any kind of grappling , now this could just be a one off maybe his back was hurting or something therefore he looks the way he did I would have to watch Connor grapple more to really see what he looks . in this instance, he just doesn’t look good at all. As far as the wrestling at the end of the video. That was Connor wrestling not necessary very much Jim jitsu mixed in there at all. Yeah, his wrestling looks actually pretty good.
1 year blue belt here so not an expert but, my opinion is that this is just a bad roll to showcase anything. Like the guy is going against a TRT McGregor so he's moving cautious, like what's the challenge in that roll it was a horrible match to show any skill.
was hilarious how much people D rode connor when he was winning then he loses and hasnt fought for a few years cos he enjoys to party and now everyone hates him.....mma fans are so fickle
i never see conor training or sparring with fighters who are top level, he just seems surrounded by human punching bags and yes men, if he went to extreme cotoure/strickland's gym I bet he'd get back to where he needs to be
Brutha , showing old clips of Connor when he was all in compared to know? It looks like he doesn't know what to do and starting over. I'm sure he appreciates your justification but respectfully shows your level of understanding of grappling. He looks unsure and hesitates. Warming up or drilling like that will get ya smoked..very fast.
Connor was never an elite grappler so I don't understand... If anything it looks like he's getting some solid training in or teaching some kid the ropes.
could be looking bad because he is generating hype intentionally so people talk about it. could be doing it just because its "light sparring" could also be doing it because hes starting to work his way back into it remember about his leg injury, i wouldn't like to be jumping into it 100%
McGreggor looks like he is training a beginner, putting in locks and seeing how the kid goes. Thats what a coach or mentor is supposed to do.

@@testAccount-eb2veThey do it a lot,
So annoying.
@@testAccount-eb2ve No worries mate 👍🏻nice one, I wasn't being funny, I appreciate the info as I always assumed it was channel owners deleting. But now I think about what got deleted and I did mention the word w.e.a.p.o.n. so maybe that got it deleted. Anyways, cheers 👍🏻
I'm not a big fan of Mcnugget, but Jake Shields has been training MMA for decades and has the striking skills of 8 year old, and Chase Hooper isn't any better. People in glass houses and all that.
Conner has not got a clue how to grapple!
He just practicing his grappling for his big date on Friday.
If would use his time working on his legal defense instead of this
Hes definitely not a blackbelt, thats for sure.
He literally is 😂
Jake shields is honestly a weirdo
Honestly it was a strange knee on belly but techniques evolve all the time. I don't think that was a proper technique but he was just flow rolling
Khabib held him down but Khabib was a lot bigger than him
Not really sweet. He’s not pinching his knees for that armbar which is generally a novice mistake
Look at how tight the armband is u think this is novice I think u must be white belt with that comment
@ lol it isn’t tight at all. His knees aren’t pinching. The guy on bottom could hitchhiker this in a second if he wasn’t gassed or knew what was going on. If you think that’s a good looking armbar than I’d argue you don’t train
@@GITMmusic it depends on the angle so what ur saying unless the knees aren’t pinched it’s not a tight arm bar is that right 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@GITMmusic also is he rolling properly here or flow rolling he’s not trying and anytime u want to come and have a grapple with me I’d be more than happy to
@ homie. Walk into any bjj gym ever and ask them if leaving your knees so splayed open on an armbar is good technique. It’s not an argument, you’re just ignorant, and that’s okay. But you shouldn’t pretend like you have any idea what you are talking about. And actually yes, If your knees aren’t pinched it ISNT going to be a tight enough armbar to tap anyone decent. The more you talk the more clear it is you don’t have any training, and you’re ignorance is exposed
How is he looking horrible exactly?
Yeah, his wrestling looks actually pretty good.
why are people dissing this hes obviously not going 100%
Tbh looks like he's just going easy on a lower belt.
1 year blue belt here so not an expert but, my opinion is that this is just a bad roll to showcase anything. Like the guy is going against a TRT McGregor so he's moving cautious, like what's the challenge in that roll it was a horrible match to show any skill.
Bro, looks like hes training the kid.... also we all look bad after 2 or 3 years off......
was hilarious how much people D rode connor when he was winning then he loses and hasnt fought for a few years cos he enjoys to party and now everyone hates him.....mma fans are so fickle
I hope Conor redeems himself
i never see conor training or sparring with fighters who are top level, he just seems surrounded by human punching bags and yes men, if he went to extreme cotoure/strickland's gym I bet he'd get back to where he needs to be
Brutha , showing old clips of Connor when he was all in compared to know? It looks like he doesn't know what to do and starting over. I'm sure he appreciates your justification but respectfully shows your level of understanding of grappling. He looks unsure and hesitates. Warming up or drilling like that will get ya smoked..very fast.
Why is Conor grappling with Bill Denbrough?
Connor was never an elite grappler so I don't understand... If anything it looks like he's getting some solid training in or teaching some kid the ropes.
People just like hating on him, that's all. Yeah, he's a a dick head but you can't deny he's a great fighter
First time i heard mcgregy was renato laranja and it stuck ever since😂
Wait to they are going slow pace and not trying to hurt people and he's an amateur !?!? Wtd light work is exactly that.
This is just footage of his pick up strategy.
could be looking bad because he is generating hype intentionally so people talk about it. could be doing it just because its "light sparring" could also be doing it because hes starting to work his way back into it remember about his leg injury, i wouldn't like to be jumping into it 100%
