I'm amazed everyone is cool with speculating about drugs and alcohol, but no one is considering CTE, which is a much likelier explanation. CTE often leads to the substance abuse-- loss of discipline and impulse control.
@@raphaelkoch1573 Of course, but friend, do you know what CTE is? Do some research and then look at McGregor's behavior these past 10 years. Then we talk.
@@SuperRobertoClemente I know what CTE is it's big new in my country with a bunch footballers suing their league over it. Just saying Conor have been on a 9 year drug and alcohol binge, that is more likely the reason since Conor often display signs off CTE.
not taking anything away from Ronaldo, but it's impossible to perform at a top level for 20 years in MMA, if fighters get 5 active years, they're considered pretty lucky.
Tomato tamato, Ronaldo kicks a ball with precision into a net at the highest level. Mcgregor kicks peoples heads with precision at the highest level. Both undoubtedly backed by there countries. if there was a way you could compare both of there athleticism I'm positive they would be close, if not equal. Literally just completely different sports they are playing.
When I was done with college wrestling I had to get sober. The adrenaline rush is addicting and when it is suddenly gone you seek out other ways to achieve that high. Often less healthy ways....
An athlete dies twice, when he retires and when he dies. As an athlete not exactly young anymore, it hits hard. Can't imagine how it must be for someone on the top stage at any sport.
@@TommyHaimakainen-sm4rb Go for it man. It's the best cardio you can get. And you can get one hell of an endorphin rush if you push your limits. An activity like that and a sense of community in a healthy space is critical.
Instead of waiting for fights in ufc he should have opened a school to teach kids fighting and sparring. He would have found a new purpose in his life and lead a healthier lifestyle. It's such a shame watching his downfall, he worked so hard to get there in the first place
The moment he fought khabib I said: Khabib will deal dmg so bad that coner will have a permanent meltdown forever outside of the fight. And this is just a result of it, justice served right. As long as he don't hurt civilians anymore then everything is fine
He was already having a meltdown during the build-up. The man was a mess and was clearly hitting the bottle and other substances more than he was training.
He is starting to look like Stevie Ray Vaughn before he cleaned up. The booze and blow really go hand in hand. Weirdly, opiates worked a bit like blow for me, but I never got this bad. It must be really hard for people on this kind of drug, as there is no methadone or suboxone to keep you well while you sort your life out. I am very close to being off it, but it has taken four or five years. Looking at this clip, I think Connor might be pretty close to hitting a wall. He will probably end up doing something stupid and getting time - would be good for him at this point.
I’m not a huge MMA guy, more of a boxing and football fan. Serious question, is this the first visible MMA guy who ended up with serious brain damage, acting crazy and disturbing and seeming drunk all the time even when he isn’t? I’m not saying this guy isn’t a drug addict, I’m sure he is. But this is how most boxers end up in retirement, and a massive chunk of football players. Fighting is bad for you
Not really no, in order for him to have developed CTE he wouldve need way more punches to the head, Conor was KOed once in his career 3 years ago, and he usually finished fights early, he hasnt had a career known of getting punched in the head, this is definitely something else
He is a drug addict and he's dipso too, he looks nervous now, long term coke use can lead to heavy anxiety and Depression, all kinds of mental health issues. I live in Dublin and my boxer friend was on Connors security team when the kabib fight was announced, Connor was coked out of his head that night so he's using an awful long time.
I've been popping Fruit Tingles since I was 11 years old. I'm now 482 years old, so i've had a pack-a-day Fruit tingle habit for 471 years. But the reality is, that you
I think we could also consider CTE. Brain damage is one of the most devastating long-term injuries you can get from martial arts. Based on new studies investigating how little impact it takes to get brain damage, I would say most fighters have it, it's just the extent of the disease. Erratic behavior, lack of control and emotions and slurry speech go in hand with substance abuse, but I would actually rather have it set off by the cycle of addiction itself than potential CTE. CTE is so devastating, because your brain controls your body. You can have a broken leg, but with a damaged brain you can have an irreversibly malfunctioning leg.
@@13bh12No. Every single fight he’s had since he began his career, has begun giving him irreversible brain damage, just like any other fighter before or after him. It’s not if he got KO’d in the fight, it’s when you get blows to the head everytime is when the brain develops CTE.
Do any of you know what Sparring is ? Do you know how many fights he’s done had, while training for the $ Fights . Everyday is a hit in the head Literally . I think some of you have CTE for not understanding the concept of what I’ve described 😂😂😂😂

For Conor to post all this stuff about his partner and kids, then to see him like this in bar high as F@k doing stuff with other gals, wonder if he does realize that one day he might lose the most precious things in life and money n fame was not the answer. Cause that woman of his has to be blind not to see.
Maybe she takes care of the kids instead of following gossip on social media. Let the man get plastered while he is still young, he'll die later anyway
I agree with both of you to some extent. You HAVE to enjoy yourself while you're young, but you also have to prioritize what is most important to you long term. That coke slut in the bathroom is not long term. It's publicly disrespecting the mother of your children. At least be discreet about it.

Hate to burst your bubble, but Conor was a coke head before the UFC, he was doing a gram a day for weeks straight at the height of his career, and nothing has changed. This isn't new.
When I saw that good and coherent interview for Road House I thought he might be back on track... but that other interview when he is constantly moving his shoulders is a problem. The guy is broken and looks terrible, I don't think he will be able to go back to a real camp.
After looking into all the info and how everyone is acting in interviews I think Dana is playing this the only way he can besides coming straight out and saying Conor is constantly blasted and is a liability. Instead he's saying the obvious, like the movie promotion and coming off the injury. Eventually these excuses will have to stop but as of now the UFC is basically covering for him as much as they can. I mean you can only clean up so many messes and to still see Conor doing interviews high as a kite is prob very frustrating to the UFC. The timing of his contract I think is adding to the theory that he's being iced. I believe he is but its not for contract shit. Dana knows if he fights to soon this will be Conors last fight after being put to sleep. In the end I'm rooting for Conor to get his shit together.
I wouldn't be surprised if Conor is struggling with addiction; the signs he exhibits are unmistakable. Reflecting on my own experience with addiction, I recall the constant procrastination, a trait Conor seems to share. Despite dropping hints of a comeback, he consistently fails to follow through, suggesting he may need more time to overcome whatever substance he's dependent on. The interview with Conor and Jake Gyllenhal, Conor could not stop moving, twitching, slurred words, and pauses every few words are a signs of withdrawals.

Yes, we know. We have all been high before. Conor is a high-profile celebrity that's why people make videos about him and make comments. Or did you just buy internet service yesterday?
As an Irish man i'd like to point out something about his speech. Conor is from inner city north Dublin and when he speaks you can tell he's making a huge effort to speak clearly and artagulcate his words. When he's had a few drinks or something else he's incapable of doing this and he's reverting back to his natural speech, along with the effects drugs and alcohol have on speech.
Connors coach said that Connor always had a dark side to his character. Way back before he was in the UFC in his very early MMA days he often drifted from the sport and went out hanging around with bad people. After his first loss he didn’t train for a year and went off drinking and partying and got in some trouble, his coach finally convinced him to get back in the gym. Connor seems to revert back to chav behaviour when he doesn’t have a fight to focus on. He’s capable of being either hyper focussed and an elite athlete when he’s chasing a goal, but when he’s got no goal he is prone to going off the rails
There was some videos of McGregor getting closer to Jesus at one point. One thing that happens when you do that is the devil gets angry and comes after you and will affect you through temptation of Your biggest sweetnesses, and your relationships will be attacked by demonic forces. If you're not aware of that, you can succumb to it so easily and lose sight of the light and that to me looks like what happened. He needs prayer. He needs to find his way back to the Lord.
Whether he fights again or not, I hope Conor finds true peace and true fulfillment outside the octagon and outside the ring. He deserves it. He’s worked his ass (or arse, if he prefers) off to get where he is and in the process, has played a tremendous role in lifting MMA to it’s current level.

Out of curiosity, are cocaine withdrawals on the same debilitating level as severe alcohol/opiate/benzo withdrawals? Can he just power through that shit, or is he gonna have to spend a couple weeks curled up in the fetal position before he takes his next fight?
I used to do copious amounts of the stuff on weekends, the next day after a binge I had no energy, the next 2 days I would be temperamental. I suppose it depends on how much and how often he does it.
U can get thru cocaine withdrawal with other drugs.. weed alcohol valium and you are over the worst in a few days. I’m not saying this guy isn’t a drug addict, I’m sure he is. But this is how most boxers end up in retirement, and a massive chunk of football players. Fighting is bad for you

He probably thinks he can quit the alcohol and drugs at any time and make a comeback. He will most likely be an addict and destroy his family and friend relationships for the rest of his life and end up broke unless one of his real friends convinces him to quit now before its to late. Its a downward spiral that gets more and more difficult to recover from the longer he is in it.
Opiates not so much... there is severe physical symptoms that ease after 3 or 4 days and then comes weeks/months of depression. I suppose the depression could also be there with coke anaw.
