Your yard is looking beautiful. Grow for me gardening is becoming my favorite channel to watch. The way you film the video is so relaxing to watch.
I appreciate hearing that.
You are master weavers the way you incorporate roses. David Austin Roses are voluptuous, like a Marilyn Monroe 😍
haha I love that
I got some 2 teeny tiny At Last roses this year and I can't wait for them to grow!
They will be amazing
Oh how I wish David Austin could live in my zone! The upcoming show these beauties will perform will be outstanding! Thanks for the preview! 🇨🇦🌸🇨🇦

It is wonderful!
You guys put out such a GREAT video!! Excellent!! So funny Christopher "I'm divin in" lol 😅😅😅
Glad you enjoyed
Thanks for the tour of the roses. It brought back memories of walking around my mum's cottage garden and looking at all her david austen roses, plus a few other old fashioned roses. She had a gorgeous garden and always sent me home with a bouquet of flowers. Unfortunately she passed away in 2006 but this brought back many happy memories. Love from South Australia 🇦🇺 ❤
I'm glad it brought back nice memories
How does your garden just keep getting better and better. ❤❤ loveeeeeeee the roses
This is a very special year in the garden. The early spring has lit the place up
YOUR YARD IS STUNNING!!! ❤❤❤ EVERY INCH IS WELL DONE!!! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!
Christophers hat cracks me up😂
I have a few different ones!
I just started growing roses last year and I am obsessed. I can't wait to see all yours in full bloom!! When I saw your foxgloves in the background I almost fell off my chair. Stunningly beautiful! I can only imagine how fragrant your garden is. You guys are amazing. Love your garden🌼

I need more roses in my life! Thank you for sharing, your garden is stunning 💚🌹🌹🌹
So nice of you
Wow so beautiful roses love them all I have few but deer love them so much. You almost have same amount of roses as your hydrangea your garden is so gorgeous well organized. Thank you for sharing and love your channel and you always respond to comments. Love from Washington State 👍😊🙏❤️🌹🌹🌹
I think we still have half as many roses as hydrangeas!
The deer eat my foxgloves and my wolfsbane. Apparently my mountain laurels are also delicious.
Interesting
Woolerton old hall is my favourite David Austin rose tottering by gently makes me smile daily so healthy I have 2generous gardeners on arbourquick growers
Very cool
Your garden is so beautiful. Your foxgloves are outstanding. The roses are beautiful and i could almost smell them from my house. I don't have any roses but you make great salesmen for them.
They are worth it!
I want to rush out and get more roses ❤️stunning
Go for it
Such a stunning garden you have💚💚💚
Thanks!
I love the color of your house with the dark brown of the garage door and those evergreen trees. I makes it look like Montana. ❤😊
I bet it looks amazing in the snow.
I think it looks pretty sharp in the snow
I respect anyone who can grow roses. They scare me so I don’t have any.You two are great with them! Happy Gardening 😊
They aren't as scary as you think!
Thoroughly enjoyed this “topical” video. Great job in expanding your horizons on content. Beautiful roses!
Thanks!
I have only just found your channel and I am in love with your beautiful garden. You’ve convinced me to get a Mary Rose which is not available potted in the UK so I will have to wait and see if I can get a bare root. Thanks for sharing your wonderful garden .
She is a gorgeous rose!!
Wowwwwww! So lovely and I can just smell them the way you describe them all lol 😆 I’m beginning to love roses 🌹 🌹🌹🌹🌹 since I bought a red one at Lowe’s 😅😅😅 Have a great day guys! Thanks again 🙏🙏
Love them!
I just love it!...lady of shalot, Emily Bronte, and more! Happy gardening ❤
You too!
You live in Rose Heaven❤
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
"I'm divin' in, I'm divin' in". 😂 Excellent tutorial guys.
Vlogging this progression of your garden is a fantastic resource for gardeners around the world. So interesting to see how ones garden grows in various climates and especially the challenges(the rabbits and deer) you deal with.
BTW, is that motion detector sprinkler helping at all?
I think it is. We have some deer damage out back but nothing in the area with the defender. I think we need another one
@@growformegardening I'm glad they stayed away from your Mock Orange so you have the chance to enjoy it in full glory. The scent is wonderful.
Me too!!!
I see the little bird or bee bath you bought last video fits in so nice anywhere!!!!
Its adorable!
Stunning roses incorporated into your lovely garden! Do you deal with any bug and larvae pressure?
We do, but I get ahead of it with captain jacks
Beautiful garden and roses, They are the bees knees.
Yes, thanks
Your roses are gorgeous!
I fell in love with David Austin roses last year when I discovered your channel. In early March I planted bare root Emily Brontë, Lady of Shalott, and Roald Dahl. I thought I had killed poor Roald, but he’s coming along nicely now. The other two are amazing already!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden and for giving me the confidence to try something new.
They are so resilient and worth the little extra efforts. I'm so glad you are trying them!
Thanks for sharing ! I’m just getting into roses. 🌹 I have Gertrude Jekyll and the generous gardener. 🌼🐝
Wonderful!
Your gardens are of great inspiration. Thank you for all of your insight, especially with this video on roses. I now have 8 David Austin roses and the first blooms are beginning. Zone 5b/6a. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous gardens with all of us.
Thank you!
I have three Emily Brontë Roses, growing in pots. They are already blooming and they are fabulous! I love the colour, peachy pink, with hints of white and pale yellow. ❤
Love it
Absolutely love "Mary Rose" , she is gorgeous! Everything looks so healthy and green. I'm definitely wanting some David Austin roses. I just wish they were a little easier to hold of. Other than the main site, they are harder to find it seems. Vanessa Bell is beautiful as well. I'm drooling now lol. Oh, and by the way, my tri color beech starts lite and pinker and now is "bi color" as well. This much be normal, I still love it and it is eye catching. Great Video as always!
There are so many varieties I still want!
I adding some of those roses to our new bed for sure! Thanks for sharing your talent and joy of gardening
Have fun!
Beautiful roses ❤❤❤😊
Thanks!
Your roses are beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
I was lucky enough to find a DA ‘Silas Marner’ @ my local garden center a few weeks ago & remembered how much joy it brought you both and snagged it up! I’m so looking forward to seeing the buds on it open up! Thanks for the inspiration ❤! On a side note, I have 5 DA ‘Jude the Obscure’ and if you are lucky enough to find it you will love love love the fragrance & color!
Ooooh I know Eric loves Jude.
Beautiful! Looking forward to full bloom!
Me too!
The roses are poppin’ as my husband would say. Thank you for the tour. Can you share all the care, products and timing of application in a video from fertilizer to pest and disease prevention?
I think we will do that soon enough
I have been using a motion sprinkler for the deer,
They really work
Such beautiful roses. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
My Rise Up Lilac Rose blows most of my other roses out of the water, so I'm sure that you will love it! I did just plant my first David Austin's bare root roses about a month ago. They doing great, so far, so I plan on getting more! One is already blooming and the others are about to!
They take a little bit of time to get established, but in years to come to David Austin‘s are Rockstars
Another wonderful garden tour. If I had a sunny yard, I’d have a rose obsession. Did those deer deterrent devices work.
The yard defender sprinkler is working. Bobbex also works!
My tri-color beech starts out tri-colored at first then goes bi-color. Still gorgeous. Your roses are winners!
Last year it was almost a solid purple!
@@growformegardening I just ordered my first David Austin roses. You inspired me. I'm terrified!
@@pamelawolfson1423 What did you order?! I'm so excited for you.
Cecile Brunner and Sunbelt Plum Perfect thank you for asking!@@growformegardening
@@pamelawolfson1423I love it!
Wow, thanks for sharing!
Our pleasure!
If there was one gem I would purchase if it weren't for Japanese beetles and fungal issues here in my zone 8b Mid Atlantic climate, it would be a David Austin rose. I'm hesitant to make such an investment but you two definitely give me inspiration to possibly consider it. Thanks!
Look on their website for the roses listed as best for health. Some of the newer varieties are amazing
If you look on the website, some of the roses are listed as best for health. There are newer varieties that are pretty resistant.
❤
🌹🌹🌹🌹
I really enjoyed this segment! How do you keep the saw fly slugs from damaging your rose leaves? Do you spray? If so what do you use and how often? Also, how often do you feed your roses and what do you use?
I think we should do a video on rose care sometime soon
Your roses are beautiful and the foliage looks so healthy. Mine are being destroyed by the sawflies. Do you use anything on your roses to manage the sawflies or rose slugs?
Get some Captain Jack's Deadbug brew and spray weekly!
Beautiful. Do you have Japanese beetles in your place? I am in southern Ontario and it is horrible. They always decimate the roses. I am always overwhelmed by them. This is one of the reasons that I don't grow a lot of roses.
We do. I spray weekly with Captain Jack's Deadbug brew
I have added several more roses to my garden this Spring based on following your journey with them. I have always loved my David Austin roses and now have some new Proven Winners to try. I think you mentioned in one of your videos a bit of how you care for them. I know your area is plenty humid, so black spot could be an issue. How often do you spray with Neem Oil, if you do at all? I live on Cape Cod and we have some humid summers too. Thanks for the advice, and I can’t wait to see the Rose Show continue all summer. ❤❤
Well they all have a good amount of airflow which helps, but do use some sprays. For black spot you should spray early, once it sets in you can't get rid of us until next year!
I’m new to your channel and trying to go through all your videos, so forgive me if you’ve talked about this. I know you mark out your garden beds for shape, but do you actually edge them yourself? They are perfection and I don’t have the strength to edge my hard ground. What’s the secret!
Thank you very much for joining us! We do edge ourselves. Way back there was a video about how I do the edges. I might do something soon as we get in to the maintenance portion of the season. Right now we are knee deep in planting!
@@growformegardening oh! That would be great, thanks! In the meantime I’ll look back through the previous videos.
OMG, I love the roses. I just bought four of the Emily Bronte roses. The tag says 4x3 1/2. It looks like I'm going to have to move them.
Give them a year to get established. We might just have them in a position that they’re very happy with
Question: what is the purpose of the dry creek bed? Erosion control? Appearance?
Yes and yes! It will help manage some of the water that flows through as well.

Please tell me how you deal with keeping bugs off your roses?!
Captain Jack's Deadbug brew!
We’ve tried without success to grow roses here on Cape Cod. I found that I couldn’t control the bugs that came and infested them. How do you keep infestations away from your roses? I gave up. :(
We use captain jacks dead bug brew weekly
Love roses but hate the thorns !!!
I've come to be ok with them...although Gertrude Jekyll is just MEAN
Oh !!!!
So this year is the first year I have gotten roses. Love them but I live in ATL and the humidity/bugs pose interesting challenges. Do you have bug pressure on your roses ever? If so, what do you use?
I spray weekly with captain jacks deadbug brew
Is that just one ancient mariner rose or 2 bushes planted together?
It is three!
Try a zephrine Drouhin old climbing rose
I do love that rose, I don't think it has a ton of thorns either
@@growformegardening no they don’t but very strong fragrance
@@growformegardening also David Austin Benjamin Britten is awesome! He gets large and upright with cherry red flowers that actually smell like those red Swedish fish candies
@@TheJamieleegood What?! I have always loved that rose but was worried the color wouldn't fit in our garden. If it smells like that I will MAKE it work
Laura @ How’s it Growing has shown hers on her channel and it’s a stunner 🤩
I just planted seven DA roses. Are the blooms normally smaller the first year?
Yes. Some take two or three years to really get themselves established
My son decided a vegetable garden and a raised bed would work, but he put regular potting soil in it, and the vegetables are pale and not doing well. Is there really a difference between potting soil and raised bed soil?
There really isn't a huge difference. Potting soil usually has better drainage. Maybe a good quality organic fertilizer would help
@@growformegardening thank you! Your rose tour was phenomenal!
I appreciate that
How do you control your Japanese beetles on your roses?
Captain jacks deadbug brew!
Do you apply with a sprayer every am when they are on the plant and is it a good soaking because I have used Captain Jack's and I never have success on my shrubs that the little buggers like? Thanks for your help. Your gardens are spectacular and so well planned.
I spray weekly. It seems to help.
Hello, lovely garden. Do you have issues with black spot. I would love more roses but get black spot. I prefer things that are beautiful all season.
If you spray for black spot early in the season it can help a lot. Once it sets in you can't get rid of it until the next year.
What do you do for the roses when they flop over from rain ?
Ours tend not to
