  • The Road The Stage is missing one of the PP boys this week as Patrick was down with the sickness. Ironic as our guest is also a nurse! Trevor Hurst has put the medical career aside to revive the legendary Econoline Crush who are back with a new song called No Quitter from a soon to be released new album which will be followed by a documentary called Flatlander chronicling Trevor’s work as a Psychiatric Nurse with Canupawakpa Dakota Nation in Manitoba. Peter and Trevor weave through stories about the bands beginning at the height of the grunge movement, memories of Edgefest, and things get emotional as they discuss their fathers who have both passed on, but whose presence are still felt in mysterious ways.

I loved Econoline Crush back then. Saw them live in 97 during TDYK tour in a bar near my apartment. Briefly cross path with Trevor after the show.... He had this great vibe and smile. Been singing EC songs since then.... and now hearing this story about his dad's help from above is directly connected to what I've been going through with my dad's passing, a few years ago. The amazement and blessing he feels while telling the story hits really close to home. I love this man even more!

Oh, wow! So watching this video tomorrow when I have the time. 'The Devil You Know' is still one of my most listened to albums. Only heard it about a decade after it came out, as it was never released in the UK, and I instantly loved it. Thank you so much in advance for this video.

The devil you know I played to death when it came out... I still have the CD I bought with my hard earned miminum wage job haha! Pretty underrated record outside of canada I feel.

Boys, you are exactly right about AI. Trevor, I saw you at Plaza of Nations millennium show. We all thought you were amazing. Partied like it was 1999. If I had to sum it all up into one word, Id choose, Progressivism. If you knew the entire history, an avenue of songwriting would open up in front of you like youve never experienced. I also know the Nichols who live in Killarney. Theyre farmers. Awesome people too.

Regarding the beatles... its not AI generated. Its just using AI to strip Lennons vocals off a tape that has poor quality. Stripping the vocal allows them to take thebisolated track and make a proper record. Paul and Ringo layed down the drums and bass... and George played guitars on it when they tried to restore it in the 90s ..but the technology wasnt there.. so its a proper beatles track.
They did it in good taste. I can see a lot of people really abusing this AI technology though.
