Originally it was said during some sort of an interview by a producer (I've read it somewhere) But think about it differently - I know that'd be awesome for Hannah to be alive but that would also mean that she fooled them all and was kinda doing this for attention or something. It could be seen wrong as if she did something and made her parents and friends hurt so badly to just see how they'd react. I mean, I know what you mean but still, her death was for a certain reason so they could change their lives
