As a local Pittsburgh guy. I’ve found your videos very informative. I’ve been fishing the rivers dams and creek mouths for years. You just confirmed that if you put in the work and time to employ crankbaits at night it pays off. Great videos. Maybe I’ll run into you somewhere one night..
Love this vid! Yes, huge baits sometimes equals huge fish. And also fishing at night with huge baits can be the ticket! This looked like a perfect storm of time of year, right baits and right area. Well done!
I live in Mckeesport, and love the vids. I fish some of the same waters, caught a 13lb walleye last spring and just lost one even bigger right at my feet. Had my hand on her and couldnt get a grip it, she was so thick. All catch and release. Keep catching.
Grew up in McKeesport fishing behind the buy n fly on Walnut...the train trestle. It's all changed now that the Eliz. dam is gone . There used to be 2 islands off the creek mouth. Deep hole on mck side and riffles and a shallow spot out in the middle just downstream opposite side of islands. So many great memories! Was nice to see The Port represented on here. The Gospel of John, sooner than later.❤
I'm looking for local lure craftsman. Before I leave the Burgh I wanna accrue a little tackle box of lures made by local craftsman. Do you have a website or store?
Thanks for the video😎 You made my day and gave me a lot of hope for this years shore fishing for walleye in Denver Co. This is my 2nd year of conversion to all artificial lures, and strickly walleye fishing from shore. I have only caught 1-10 in walleye from shore in the last 2yrs at Cherry Creek Resavoir, using a 2.5 in charteuse bluegill paddletail lure. Thanks again 😎✌🎩
In the past at that area we used the broken back 4 in Rapala and a Kmart lure that looked like it, that was only $1.00 which was also a broken back the same length. They killed those lures. Always started fishing about 8:30 pm untill about 11:pm. Haven't fished there for awhile now, but plan on soon. Hope to see you there or on the Mon some day.
Dude I've been watching alot of your vids so yesterday I tried your big lure big fish theory got my PB pike 41 inches from shore on a 8 inch bucktail It was a unit thanks man👊👊
I know this vid is a year old but I was at GL lock on the Mon and had a barge light and shined it on the river and you could see all the walleye and gar swimming at night
Where I fish the best bait is just normal 3-4 inch spoons in black and white or in all honesty countdown rapala s or drop shots you should try drop shotting with beaver tail flat worms or minnows I’ve got 3 walleye over 32 a 33 a 37 and a 36 on just sucker minnows hooked through the nose but glide baits are my favorite fall and spring baits besides jerk baits
Rapala suspending baits number 13 or Rapala husky jerk 13s or Rapala FL 13s and also try Smithwick rattlin Rogues they got a loud rattling them and they're all about 6 inches long
Nice work guys!! Amazing! I would've got one of those big ones mounted, simply for the fact of where you caught it. I remember that river back in the day when the only thing in was carp and kitties. But that's me. You guys kill it, and please be careful there, especially at night, if you know what I mean.
Thanks man. We planned to get a replica of my dad’s 11.5 pounder from the river but didn’t get around to it. And ya it’s spooky that’s for sure. Gotta stay prepared…
Great to see a lot of giant fish from one spot. Unfortunately many of our fishers don't let them go. So others like me are lucky to catch one or two such monsters in a year.
Yes there is very little harvesting done in the rivers because the common belief is that they are dirty. Most of the walleye harvesting around here happens in the Great Lakes
Our small rivers in Iowa hold some 🐖’s. My pb was only 27” and weighed 9lb 10oz but hopefully will break that. I think the fish gods are still mad at me for that skin mount but I always wanted my first one on the wall, the rest will be free to swim.
Its important to release most of the larger walleye since they are much more efficient at reproducing. Its best to selectively harvest average size walleye to eat. This way more and larger fish are able to be caught in the future.
I think your scale was a bit off. That long should weigh a bit more, I'm thinking. A 30in. Should be around 10lbs. Yeah? Those weren't much smaller. Wow! Impressive
Thanks! I thought so too, but I tested it when I got home on some dumbbells so maybe it was just skinny. In my experience a 27” - 7 lbs, 28” - 8, 29 - 9 etc
Pretty nice fish boys kweep up the good work
Thank you! Will do
Truly respect the catch & release, nice to see!

I’m glad to hear that! Yes night fishing the rivers is definitely a move; especially in fall. Maybe you will!

Great Job man! THanks for the information other anglers are desperate to hide..
‘Dam’ those walleye are Massive! Great job fellas. 😆
Ha thanks brother!
Great video man...love to see big eyes being caught! You guys are teasing me with that walleye samich talk...love me some walleye samiches👍
Thanks man!

In Ontario and my favorite fishing time is late fall at night for trophy walleyes. Rapala jointed countdowns (discontinued) work best.
A6inch rapala with a grey back and white bottom works here in west Virginia.
Finally the perfect TH-cam channel for me 🎉
At your service
Another good video guys, thanks for sharing...
Thanks brother
Thanks for the shout out! I knew you were gonna get a hog walleye on that thing!
Hell ya

No problem! Thanks for watching
Thanks for the reply😎😎🎩🎩🎩👍👍👍✌✌✌👌👌👌
Good job brother! I see they opened one of the gates up, total game changer
Yep! Happy when I saw that!
Had my best big walleye day yesterday. Landed 4 fish with a total weight of 23.25lbs.
Magnum floater size 18 .....
Tons of fun.
Great video 👍
Thanks! That’s a great day and a great bait

Yessir. That 4” jointed Rapala (j-11 I believe) was my trophy walleye catcher for years…

Awesome!!! 👏 👏
Nice fish that is very similar to my pb i just caught it was 30 inches but 7 lbs just like yours. Also western PA way to go man
Awesome man…in a couple months that 30 incher might be 10 pounds!
@@absoluteunitmedia yes sir!
Fishing Braddock dam boss?
Great fish buddy! Good video!😊
Thank you!
Big bait, big fish. In our lakes a 30 in. Walleye usually goes 10 lbs. Must be lighter in the river. Big bass baits work too.
Ya that’s normally true here too…28”=8 lbs, 29=9 etc…these fish were light for some reason
I know this vid is a year old but I was at GL lock on the Mon and had a barge light and shined it on the river and you could see all the walleye and gar swimming at night

wow, huge walleyes
Nicely done
Almost all my biggest walleyes have come accidentally while trolling medium sized musky/pike baits. The Wally’s crush em too!
can you eat these fish are they clean
I have…
Awesome video guys. I was just wondering roughly the time you guys were fishing. 10,11,12:00am.. looks like the Ottawa River. Cheers boys
those big ones were caught between 7 and 8
i caught a 14 pound walleye trolling for musky this year. the problem is losing lures to snags that cost 20+ bucks
That’s incredible
Dang! That Muskie lure is as big as the fish I catch 🤣 I'm still learning 😁
Is this Pennsylvania
Always at dusk😊
You ever try glow spoons for walleye?
Yes I have a couple times. They’ve worked for me at times when nothing else did
Rapala suspending baits number 13 or Rapala husky jerk 13s or Rapala FL 13s and also try Smithwick rattlin Rogues they got a loud rattling them and they're all about 6 inches long

I think many walleye fisherman make the mistake of not up-sizing their lures. 😮😢 Big baits catch big fish. 😊
Did I hear shout out to Jake Latkovic. Sorry maybe bad spelling lol from Shaler?!
Yes that’s right he makes that lure!
@@absoluteunitmedia aye that's bad ass didn't know he did that. We were in the same graduating class, he's a cool ass guy. You got some good videos. 🤟
Thanks brother!
Fish seem light for their length, regardless those were nice fish
Yes I know. I checked the scale when I got home too and it seems correct so I don’t know 🤷

Nice! That’s a fat 27” !
I landed my first double digit walleye yesterday. 32"
That’s awesome man, congrats
I catch mine with 12 ounce lead weights and a flashlight 😊
We got weights in fish 🤣🤣🤣🤣 🤣
3min from my house and I still have no idea how to get to this spot
Can someone help me understand why you release the big ones?
Its important to release most of the larger walleye since they are much more efficient at reproducing. Its best to selectively harvest average size walleye to eat. This way more and larger fish are able to be caught in the future.

@absoluteunitmedia yup. Probably just hungry fish.
18 is perfect eating size
Pre-spawn that walleye could push 9.
Ya it was weirdly light. Filled out they’re usually 27”-7 28”-8 etc
@absoluteunitmedia It's still a hammer. I need to throw big plugs.
Great river to fish excellent video. Keep them coming. Check out Lehigh fishing company. Custom rod manufacturer. American 🇺🇸 made. 👍🎣
Same lures we use on the Detroit river
think your scales broken
Walleye in PA need to be at least 15 inches long. So most of the (big) fish you are catching are not big enough to keep.
Yes I know the law….I wasn’t keeping any regardless. The 28” and 29” walleye we caught are big by my standards, so I was very happy with the night
Ur water level looks really low
It has been for weeks
