Pretty sure this entire song is a prelude to something conceptual. Like the song, video, aesthetic choices, and homage to the scene in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" are all a hint at something a little deeper than "new song, new sound"

Bands need change, fans need something refreshing and so do the band. I don't get a feel for it, personally, but I'm glad others are. Doesn't take away from the music I'd heard before and it's nice that new people are hearing them for the first time. They deserve more success than they've had, and while it isn't for me, I can see this being successful!

I think you can say whatever about your tastes and not enjoying this but in the end bands evolve. Also seen a lot of people commenting "Oh they've sold out" but absolutely no one acknowledges the whole song is about hitting on points of "should I sell out to get further or not" and ends with him walking off a set he doesn't fit into while people are visibly surprised or angry to return to Glasgow and shut the lights off. Pretty sure that was them walking away from Opportunities that would take away their roots/made them feel like selling out.

@@conthegenuis970 everyone is entitled to their opinion as i’ve said, but there’s a way to say it and if you can’t be nice about it then it’s better just to say nothing at all. everyone’s had such a horrible time the past year, the band included i’m sure, so a little bit of kindness would be nice. it’s so easy to just say “sorry guys, not my thing but good luck” or to just say nothing at all rather than being nasty
There are one or two that are talking about how “fucking awful” the song is but also replying to every negative comment. If it’s that bad why are they invested so much into telling the band (and other fans) that the song sucks? Just close the video and don’t watch it again.
Of course we’re all entitled to our own say, but probably best to keep the mean comments to yourself.
It’s a hard time for music in general and every band needs support more than ever, so let’s just show them some love 😊

@@Yxghoul there's a difference between changing their sound and changing their entire identity. Honestly, this is a band I've loved for a great many years and a band I have managed to see every year since 2013 (despite Covid) and I really do wish them all the best. I want them to be successful, I just wish they could do that and still produce music that I enjoy. We all have opinions and mine is that they peaked at Great Divide and GLA was their last good album.
Then listen to their old albums & enjoy them, their sole focus isn't to make music you specifically like. They can change & make whatever kinda music they like whenever they like😂

It's not about selling out. There's nothing wrong if a band want to evolve their sound because that's a natural progression.
However, this song is just plain naff in my opinion. Just not very exciting at all.
I missed Power completely so this came as a surprise alright. Tbh I thought GLA was meh though. This is most definitely not for me.

I'm of the same opinion. Personally for me the POWER album was so a masterpiece. I love Novocaine, Barcelona and some other songs from the previous albums. Kinda disappointed ((((
