I dressed my son as a rudeboy for his first Halloween this year. For some background, I spent the first few months trying to find music he'd like, latch on to, dance to, and fall asleep to. His sensibilities picked Ska. We've bonded to Ska as a result. So, I bought him a black and white suit and some checkered Vans. That's what the wife and I dressed him as for his first Halloween. My little rude boy. I love him!

@@lindae1116 The Hope and Anchor is legendary in Madness history. My GF's favorite song is It Must Be Love by Madness. Saw them at the Paradise Rock Club here in Boston back in the day. Couldn't tell you how many pints I've knocked back with Buster Bloodvessell. One of the nicest people I've met.

The ska revival of ‘79 brought us Specials, Selector, Madness, and the English Beat, to name a few. These two gents were young blokes back then, and it gladdens me heart to see they’ve kept up with their dance moves.

Beautiful. Ska is the best way for ordinary beer loving blokes to keep fit in my opinion. Also huge fun. Reminds me of a ska band playing at a springtime festival was a freezing wind so we had to dance all night to keep warm.

The first music I got into when I was about 8yrs old. My friends and me wore all the clothes & everything then when I was like 10yrs old I discovered HIP HOP & I was hooked, B-boying, Graf, Mcing then through Hip Hop & Ska got into Reggae. Even though I'm still old b-boy/Hip Hop head I still love Two Tone. There's a lot of good music today just got to look 4 it! 💯

I was a kid when ska came on the scene. In those days you had to stick to a genre of music to identify yourself... I was a rocker into quo, purple, lizzy etc and anything else was sacrilege. My 'kids' (now 20+) these days are so broad minded in that they just like 'good' music. Nowadays I listen back to the stuff I shunned in the 80s and some of it is brilliant, plus I can't listen to some of the stuff I used to air guitar to every evening. In fact, In the car today Led Zeppelin 'whole lotta love ' came on and I switched off the radio.
I was the same, into metal UFO, Saxon, Maiden Etc, but unlike you, I didn’t hide the fact I liked other stuff too, I had records by bowie, big country, some of the punk stuff, mod stuff, the Who etc etc, I still play a mix at parties and bbq’s, never be scared to be yourself.
I did this to Bad Manners in Heaton Park circa 1985. Buster Bloodvessal danced/bounced so hard on stage the camerawoman filming the concert almost fell off the stage camera in hand! Great days, long gone.
Lol less off the 'old' most of us fans from that era are late 40s early 50s :-) Went to Madness concert in all my old ska clothes had a wicked time , but realised when you our age , doing dancing and skanking to this music hits your calf muscles big time, I couldn't walk properly for 3 days, felt like i had run a marathon :-) ....we are not old but we might need a full service and an oil change before next gig lol

Talk about memories, I was 16 years old when I saw them play in Hollywood in 1983 at the Palace. I want my 80’s back.
