      We've got a problem Adam. I think your video has started a run on the Blue Star Junipers. Been out this morning and there's none at all to be found, even in garden centres that had loads a few days ago.

    I keep my Juniper wired untill it really starts to bite in before removing, it definitely helps the branch to set in position and i dont mind the scaring it leaves as it eventually smooths out and adds some texture to the bark. I like the shape of your tree Adam and will enjoy watching you grow it.

    • @notionbonsai
      @notionbonsai  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ohh nice! I might do that with this one then! See what happens to it if I leave the wire on a little longer. Thanks very much Scott!

    Love your videos Adam!!! Gosh your videos have such a great vibe honestly incredibly enjoyable. You’re so in love with what you are doing it shows and it’s so wholesome!!!!!!!!! I was curious what brand of cut putty is that you use?

    • @notionbonsai
      @notionbonsai  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey BioInsane 🙂 Thank you so much this means a lot! 💖 The brand of cut putty is called KIKUWA. It can be a bit expensive as it is imported from Japan. If you can't acces it there are many other cheaper alternatives you can use!

    They are interesting trees. I have a couple myself and I find that the movement in the truck can be really hard to get to stick. Mine are always straightening.

      @PSPMHaestros ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Same for mine, I've been wiring down a branch for a few years, and everytime I remove the wire, in a couple of months it springs back up a bit hahaha

    Nice work Adam, thanx for sharing. I was just tweaking my Ficus benjamina fusion project, I know I shouldn’t fiddle! but wondered if you’ve dabbled in this direction? Ian (Back Garden Bonsai) has a nice one on the go. Brilliant way to get a thick trunk super quick! God bless your endeavours 🙏✝️ ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️

    Good for you, a young Irish bonsai growing lad…. I started around 25 yrs old, so you’re younger. A couple tips, liquid seaweed incredibly cheap to make with a blender, dried seaweed and water, and human urine😂, diluted 10% urine 90% water, both together even better make incredibly cheap effective liquid fertilizer, cheers.

  • @265petsar
    @265petsar ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice little starter tree, my only criticism is overtwisting the trunk ( I understand it's a matter of taste ). Bonsai can take you in two directions on every tree, reality or sculpture, as a twisted trunk thickens the area between the twists narrow, you can then change a sever twists into clusters which takes away the taper of a natural tree. What may look nice at first, can in a few years become a pain in your overall design. From experience over the years twists that are left on the horizontal plain never work out, but then it may appeal to others who like to create a sculptured tree.

    • @notionbonsai
      @notionbonsai  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thank you very much for this feedback! I will definitely keep this thickening in mind when I style the tree for the second time. As it was such a cheap tree, I dont mind experimenting on it to see where it goes also!
