Vienna Airport 1988 - Opening Pier Ost

This film is dedicated to the people involved in the planning, construction and commissioning of Pier East at Vienna Airport. It was the first-time aircraft were handled with passenger loading bridges and made operational pushbacks. The tasks were very challenging and we all worked with boundless enthusiasm to ensure smooth operations.
The Video was filmed with VHS-C and digitalized some years later.
It was remastered in June 2023.

Ich wusste zwar, dass ein PANAM Jumbo eines der ersten Flugzeuge war, dass am Pier Ost andockte und dass es dabei Probleme mit der Brücke gab, aber ich wusste nicht, dass es sich um den Clipper Black Sea N743PA Boeing 747-121 handelte.
