Great that your inspector finally made it and you can get moving on things soon! How nice that Noel was able to visit new friends in West Cork to break up his time there and get some new inspiration!
Great video Jill! Gosh we feel like celebrities. Exciting times ahead for you guys, and we can't wait to follow your developments. I'm sure there will be plenty more catch-ups to come x
@@WestCorkWander Haha, it’s a lovely photo of you two. We’re so glad to finally get started and hopefully make up for lost time. We’ll definitely keep in touch and look forward to the time we can all put our feet up over a drink or two to celebrate. 🙌
Well done Jo & Noel you have made great progress so far, I'm sure your frustrated with delays. Best wishes for the build & your new life Kerry . I love you video's of the nature & Roy. B from Sligo❤
Great news ! We have two light tunnels at work and visitors are puzzled why they can’t find a switch to turn them off! The ceilings will be so much better when they are slightly raised.
We have restoring our house for five years it is a never ending passion of love and you can’t just give up like that, and when it is finished there be more jobs to do
@@truth3358 trades for the work that needs signing off but Noel has skills to do a lot of the work himself, possibly hiring labour where needing to lift heavy lintels etc. 😊
will you be leaving /putting back any part of the fireplaces? would be a shame to lose them completely; i like what you have planned but all old houses deserve a nice cozy fire can't wait to see the start thanx for sharing
The fireplace is the beating heart of the home. Tearing it out? What are you thinking? We get power cuts ALL the time here in Leitrim - you want to keep wood and coal on hand at all times - especially in the gloom of winter. Sure, the chimney takes up some room. Sure, you could knock it all out and maybe fit a nice ottoman or maybe a little wine table where it used to stand. Seriously think long and hard about what you will be losing - and lay it up against the couple of feet of floor space you will gain. Don’t kill the only nice thing about the house.
Very exiting news ! Have you considered getting vaulted ceiling in the old house ? Your house seems perfect for it and the loft seems to small to use for anything.
Congratulations 🍾 that the inspector gave the go ahead 🎉

Taking out two fireplaces is Taking away from the houses character
Do you mean the chimney breasts? The fireplaces went over a year ago.

I find the idea of light tunnels fascinating Margaret and can’t wait to see how it impacts the space. 😊
