This has existed in Nigeria for decades but probably not commonly used as houses. My dad's company had containers furnished just like this for staff as offices in Jos, Plateau state in an empty land beside the main office building in the early 90's.

yes, I was just asking, in my comment, if *tiny-homes-on-wheels* have become popular in Nigeria yet..I'm obsessed with them as well, LoL!!😄 and some of the stationary ones are lovely, too, of course - and are often not even very different..but I like the idea of being able to easily move to a new plot of land with one..and to be able to easily travel with one, at will, *without* having to hire a special trucking service to do it.👍

Well he went to school in Ghana, compare him to an average Nigerian graduate, the ones that I met are virtually unemployable and totally inarticulate. In 2014 the United Kingdom stopped recognising Nigerian degrees and EU also followed suit. Education is the best gift to any child, good quality education lays the foundation for the rest of your life. Poor quality education even at university level is similar to no education as per illiterate.

Obviously you haven’t heard of BIM- Building Information Modelling has proving minimalist design would not only be sustainable but also cater for population explosion especially in a poor country like Nigeria.
High rise buildings is expensive and time consuming.

Great work really. Young people especially those in the early part of their careers face a challenge of housing in cities like Lagos. Having housing units that are non permanent and morden and comfy that can be turned over fast will go a long way to meet a critical need. I see a fleet of well style container houses with colorful graffiti exteriors in a "container eestate"somewhere in Lekki; Affordable, clean, stylish... Nice work. Good thing you didn't take up the stethoscope like your parents😂. Imagine mobile clinics styled in the fashion. Shops, studios, spars, even hotels can adopt your style. I see a multimillion dollar venture. Thanks Tayo for showing his work to the world. PS; Tayo, you ever been to mambilla plateau? I hear it's the prettiest place in Nigeria. Great job, Tayo. I just watched this and I expected that you would cover so many other questions. 1. How is heat managed in the container?; 2. With metal comes rust, how is rust (and ultimately, leakages) handled; 3. What is the market for these tiny houses?; 4. Is this the first set of units he’s built?; 5. What’s the experience of people currently living in these units? What do they like/dislike? Would really appreciate if you can cover this in a follow-up post.

For containers, there's a special transparent chemical coating that's used to prevent rust overtime. It's expensive but it works. It's also waterproof so obviously leakage is out of it. Secondly for the heating, I believe there is an internal coat painting applied before the paint itself is applied. I saw it on one other Tiny house video but didn't really go in-depth with it

love that NIGERIA is getting in on the shipping container homes!👍🙋🏾‍♀️ makes so much sense and a home shouldn't have to break our bank accounts, no matter where we live in the world.
now, what about *tiny-homes-on-wheels?* has that taken off over there yet?? as they're also far more affordable than classic home properties..and the design possibilities are tremendous and have come a long way since their early days.🤗
they can also be easily traveled with or moved to different locations, by an owner alone, with the right kind of everyday, personal trucks🚚 than can handle pulling the weight..lost of videos here on TH-cam about them..and they can also easily be custom designed for reasonable prices, if prefab designs are not to a buyer's liking.

Another possible way to sell your container homes is by leasing. It could be long term housing for someone constructing their home. It could also be a housing solution for a person from out of state that needs a place to stay. You can arrange partnerships with people with empty plots, so that they can receive income while they save for a permanent development.

I have a question about how the space is kept cool? Shipping containers being made from steel are not good insulators of heat. I see a lot of AC usage in the house but being that we are in Nigeria has there been any effort made to made to limit the over dependence on AC to cool the house. I also noticed the tinted windows so I assume that has been one method. Anything else that has been done?

I love this! He’s solving a problem for his country and creating jobs. The grass is more greener in Nigeria/Africa than the so called Western countries where everyone is trying to migrate to. Let’s not forget that the West is built by Africans and Africa resources.

Well done. I was very pleased to hear about forward and future visions and waiting for the market to catch up. I know that one. I might see you in Nigeria some day as I have a plethora of ideas that need bringing to the market, and Nigeria may be one of my options to do so.
