I got stretch marks on my hips during my teen years. I was way too young to notice this then and didn’t do anything about it. During my pregnancy I used Palmers Cocoa Butter Moisturizing Oil every day and I didn’t get any new stretch marks at all. I also kept my self hydrated.
I've never been pregnant but I feel like I've learned so much from watching these videos! For example I'd been having this dry, patchy and painful skin on the back of one of my hand. Just one, which I found odd. I put jojoba oil followed by a lotion that contains Shea butter on it. But it wasn't getting any better. So when Susan mentioned Aquaphor. I thought if it can be helpful to a baby's skin maybe it could help the dry skin on my hand? And within days of using it the skin on my hand became softer and smoother. I am more than pleasantly surprised! And I'm glad she mentioned a serum for the body. I had been wondering if using a serum followed by a lotion or moisturizer would be just as good for the body as it is for the face? I heard someone once say that the skin on the face is different than the skin on your arms, hands, legs and feet. Which I can understand. But they were responding to being told that Jennifer Lopez used La Mer on her whole body. And saying to only use products that were intended and formulated for the body on the body. But I'm going to look into that body serum. I'd like to to add that to my own self care routine.🙂
I found the last few weeks as the baby dropped very low is key to applying the products just above the pubic bone helped. Stay out of the heat & sun; it's very drying & dehydrating during pregnancy. Watching sugars & carbs helps. My 2nd pregnancy with my daughter was brutal on my skin & "love handles". I wish we had better information then. Good talk, Susan.
I used all these products 4 years ago when you recommend then &I was around the same place in my pregnancy as you. It because a calming night time ritual for me. Now I’m preggo with baby number two and I found myself in the shower tonight craving that peppermint tummy scrub from 4 years ago! So I’m back watching this video 💖💖💖💖 thanks for all the great recommendations
Will you do a video either on here or the sass that talks about what to do IF you DO get stretch marks? Like what to do to help them go away or really minimize them? I think you’ve mentioned sharzad got some? Thank you!!! Perfect video btw!
My dermatologist gave me vitamin E cream and while my stretch marks were still red and fresh, I applied it and now I don't even see them! I gave up after a month or two because I thought it wasn't working so very few of them are still visible. I was Young and didn't really know what was happening , my dermatologist just said 'it's because you're weight is increasing'. The vitamin E cream worked wonders but I still wish she explained it better so I wouldn't have stopped using it.
I'm 32 and don't have any children, but I plan to eventually so I've started preventative work. I use retinol on my body everyday and then slather on a hyaluronic acid gel moisturizer. You can't use retinol products when you're pregnant, but you can prep your skin for when the time comes!

Before my first child, I had a miscarriage that got my weight up so fast in a 2 week time. From there, I have very deep stretch marks, I can feel the cracks in my skin. When I was pregnant with my first only tiny stretch marks appeared as extra but they were thin, will taking care now help reduce the stretch marks, for a future possible pregnancy. P.s: I love your channels, all three. I really like the recommendations you give.
It’s always a good idea to take care of your skin. You can try to lighten the current stretch marks you have-if you’re not pregnant, I would use a retinol.
I’ve read that oils are the way to go for stretch marks because lotions doesn’t absorb deep enough into the skin and oil goes past just the top layer of your skin!
Actually, "hard water" is water with a high content of minerals such as calcium and magnesium. So the exact opposite of the filtered water we clean ourselves with.
A magnesium SCRUB? That's... kind of genius! I've used magnesium oil, and foot soaks, but meh. A scrub... hmmm.. Great video, Susan! I mean, why stop after pregnancy? Even after, or if you're not pregnant, you still need to be gentle because there's still somebody in your body... you
@@gladystony1857 I actually DID make a scrub after watching this and checking out the Ren product ingredients! The oil itself left on was too sticky for me, but I'm very fussy about touch type stuff, so maybe it wouldn't bother most. The scrub is basically oil with coffee grounds and oatmeal and some other powders, glycerine, and I melted in some emulsifying wax into the oil. And obviously, Magnesium. I used Magnesium Chloride, powdered with the other powders, because it absorbs faster, and I don't have the tub to soak in, like with Epsom salts. Because I added the emulsifying wax, the scrub turns into a rich cream on wet skin. I'm super happy with it! Hope that was interesting to you :)

So, thank you :) I only have one doubt: is it okay to do physical exfoliation and use the aha body serum on the same routine, or different days? Maybe the body skin can handle both since is not as sensitive as face skin? Thank you in advance :)
Loved this!! Looking into that scrub as I use Natural Calm powder and gummies. What would you suggest for Magnesium cream as I have one but find it SO itchy? An oil over it or under? Thank u!
I'm using raw shea butter as my main moisturizer. It's solid and once it melts in my hand I work it into my skin, focusing on my belly. Having watched this video, should I treat this as my oil? I do want to incorporate a cream moisturizer but now I'm wondering if it would replace the raw shea butter I'm currently using or be added before? Also, thank you for the recommendations!
Hi Susan! I recently discovered your channel. ♥️ I was wondering, what are your thoughts on Bio Oil? I used it while I was pregnant and ended up with no stretch marks however, I’ve heard mixed reviews on its ingredients. What are your thoughts?
