After coming back to senses he could not forgive himself. He knew that Kafka was a human but wanted to test him whether he could bring himself back before causing much damage in case he went berserk. Well Kafka passed and Shinomya's father saved him from disposal. This is what Shinomya's father reveals to Kafka when he had to transform in a battle to help Kafka and Mia against number 9. He lost his life in that battle.
