It's hard to be upset with Ore winning because he was so good on the night when it counted. Of the three he seemed to channel the nerves so well and had the most confidence, in addition to the great dancing. A really nice surprise win, especially since he's a non-dancer = well done!! ;)
so to win, all the votes go on the performance of the final? and not total votes through out the show?
If it was based on the season, Danny should've won but it seems to be the same as the American version (DWTS) where it's based on the 3 dances for the night.
To win, it's purely by public vote. The judges votes are only a guide - they have no bearing on the result. Last year, Jay wasn't on top of the board, but he still won.
Their words do though...like Len's comment you are what this show is all about and reminding the public yet again he had no dance training. I think we might know that by now judges it's thrown at us every week, still some of the public are so gullible. Plus their choice of dance was really out of order too. The quickstep, the fastest dance and so easy to make a mistake in, even the pros do at times, whereas Ore got his jive and Louise her Argentine Tango, why did they choose the quickstep, did they want him to lose? I'll answer my own question.....of course they did, this was one of the Clifton's Glitterballs. Why not his rumba that was brilliant but did not get full marks or either of those they gave to other two. This was so fixed, true they can't predict the result but what they say and the marks they give for a guide only can and do. Danny will always be my Glitter Ball champion. Another strange thing why did Len tell Danny that his dancing had made the others reach higher, it was as if he knew he wouldn't win so threw him a crumb.
Marion Piggott the dances the judges chose were Quickstep for Danny, Cha cha cha for Louise and American Smooth for Ore - all dances they thought they could improve on. The third dance was the one that each couple chose themselves. Jive for Ore, argentine tango for Louise and samba for Danny. If anything, that put Danny at an advantage because that samba had only been danced 2 weeks previously, whereas Ore's jive was from week 4, so Danny's samba would've been clearer in his mind. His samba, danced the first time, also scored higher than Ore's jive.

for someone who has had no dance experience this is a great achievement - a deserved win in my opinion
Based on last night's performances this was a well deserved win!
I was rooting for Danny the whole series & felt like Ore had plateaued a few weeks ago. Last night Danny made mistakes which cost him & Ore pulled it out of the bag with 3 awesome dances. Congratulations Ore & Joanne. This showdance is fabulous & really captures Ore's personality
Looking back on other show dances, a lot seem dependant on some astounding lifts with lift after lift. It is just lovely to see a show dance based almost entirely on dance skills alone with a few lifts to compliment it. Well done!

most showdances in strictly i find are always so emotional and dramatic which is why I loved this one, so much fun and it captured Ore's personality and Jo's brilliant choreography!
amy chan no you loved it because it was traditional white rigid dance whilst Oti was more foreign and you can't handle that foreign music because you European self centred mindset makes you recoil from too foreign styles
um, I'm half chinese and i meant that most other showdances are more modern and contermpary which nearly always feature slow songs, I liked Ore's because it was fast and fun and bought a smile to my face and personally i love the fact that a black guy won strictly with no dance experience at all, he thoroughly derseved to win and like Len said, he's the spirit of strictly, danny and louise will go on to great things with it and no doubt danny will be in a musical or something.

Gill Turner no they weren't. They are traditional ballroom dancing which just shows your criteria for best is white European rigidity and how egotistical self white European self centred you are. Can't have that foreign music got to be glorious British and European empire ballroom

No idea what he is talking about, as I said Ore was the best dancer whether he was white, black, yellow or green and whatever he danced to whatever music - just my opinion of course as "an egotistical self white European self centred person" love it!!

He the best because he flattered your view of western superiority in the traditional ballroom dance. Which was traditional gene kelly ballroom stepping. You didnt deem the actual dancers that the judges said would go down in history as deserving of winning. Why? Because their style wasnt what you wanted which was Ballroom traditional.
Henbot shock horror British TV viewers prefer western style dances - no shit Sherlock let me guess for your next trick you'll point out that Americans like burgers rather than curry!
Ore has definitely got the rhythm to win. I love it again and I also how it reminds me of musicals. I hope they win 😀😀 go ore and Joanne!! 😀 xx

You know, it is really sad that some just want to throw negativity at this. For me, all three finalists were outstanding! and each deserved to be there. But, the public vote based on the dances of the final, and this hinges mostly on the Showdance and the style of it. All three were great in their own right, but Ore and Jo's stood out for me above the others, and he scored 119 out of 120 possible points!!! For me, Danny was always my pick for the winner from about week 3 or 4, but last week, in the Semi-Final, Ore upped his game, I think that was mostly triggered by being in the Dance Off the week before, but for me, in that Semi-Final, suddenly Ore danced like a Champion, when he danced Singin in the rain again, you could see just how far he had come since Movies week, then the Showdance highlighted all his skills and how he had learnt so much from Jo, but also how much he loved to dance and how he has grown. Then the Jive again, and he just smashed it!! The first time I saw it, it amazed me, so I knew this would be excellent second time around, and he bagged 40 points again after bagging 40 in the Showdance. So a well deserved champion and yes I voted for them in the Semi-Final and in tonight's Final, because his Showdance took my breath away.
But you know what made me really smile? Louise and Kevin's 40 points for the Argentine Tango, they really deserved that!! It was a brilliant Argentine Tango (Not my favourite ever, as Simon and Kristina's is still my favourite ever!!!) and I also feel she should have got at least a couple of 10's for her Cha Cha!!!

This is Jo at her choreographic BEST. It reminded me of Tom Chamber's showdance but MUCH more polished and so much risks involved. Could have ended in tears but it ended in triumph! Another 10! Well done, Ore and Jo! I know people were jealous (Doti's fans?) voted down your QS (edit to add, they even came to vote down this showdance too, those meanies!), which is mean-spirited! But you've done well and deserved to be in the final!

Not really salty. It actually true-- you just dont realize your own rigidity. European myself, but Strictly is all about ballroom rigid western style. Danny and Oti were vastly vastly superior dancing. No deny of that, especially when judges said they go down in history. So why they lose? Because Strictly Voters are conservative,liberal, moderate narrowminded in what they want to see. Which is Gene Kelly not more diversity.

Not a foot wrong but nowhere near as technical as Danny's dance. Danny was streets ahead. Danny wouldn't have put a foot wrong on this either but put ore intimdannys dance and he would have messed up. That's the truth.
Ok I see you're a Doti fan and that is fine. But don't comment about Danny on a dance that isn't Danny's - your beginning to sound gay for him in all honsty.
Danny's dance wasn't more technical - it just required more sense of rhythm and timing which by and large he nailed. The technique wasn't more difficult imo.
Whether Danny would mess up is debatable, as this contains both aspects of QS and Foxtrot, two dances which Danny has messed up big time.
Whether Ore would cope in Danny's dance is left in specualtion as there's really no way of finding out and that is the truth.

Suspicious Windmills Danny's dance was more technical but also less exciting. this is the "show dance" technicality goes out and showmanship takes over. Ore had the dance that more of the viewers liked ergo he got the votes. similarly Louise was very intense but also very dull.
Brilliant dancers who took love for the world and crying to never before seen heights. Sheer brilliant dancing ability took them to a well deserved potential second place spot but their additional skills made them impossible to beat. I did expect total collapse and wrything when they were announced winners, but by that stage a score of 9/10 for (whatever you want to call it) sustained an air of credibility, and the voting public remained oblivious to their gullibility.

This is my favourite showdance ever from my favourite winner. Ore beat Danny and Louise who both had considerable performance and dance experience, Ore had no dance or performance background but he did have natural talent. The dancing was superb but just look at the performance skills, this ability is rarely seen from celebs on Strictly. This was probably the most deserved win ever

I feel for Kevin but his show dance - while very artistic - was not a patch on this. to win the final votes you have to have the wow factor too.
He was trying his best to tailor it to Louise's style-classy and elegant in it's own right! He is a very clever choreographer-I've praised it countless times. Just on the night Ore 1. Had dances that showed off his capablity and 2. Nailed this. Ms Clifton also rivals her big bro in choreography...especially in this dance!

Danny was the better dancer, but no one sold a dance as well as Ore did- a natural showman. I was so happy when he won.
This wasn't my fav show dance as everything happened so quickly would like to see this in slow motion. The song didn't really appeal to me either, but saying that these two danced this very well overall x

It saddens me that people are calling Ore's victory a fix when he really is a fantastic dancer. Yes, Danny was good, but for me a lot of his dances felt contrived and not convincing (much like Hollyoaks really). I would have been happy for any of the three to win but I'm glad it was Ore.
Perfection. Ore was a winner from beginning to end. The fact is, as good as Danny could sometimes be, trained dancers like him should not be in this competition.
Abby Irvine. I've not said that he isn't talented, he certainly is. But Danny deserved to win the show. If Ore was the best dancer then he would deserve to win, he wasn't but he did.

Rosemary Ferris ore won and he got 119 out of 120 Louise and Danny got 116 out of 120
hmm this video had half the amount of views of danny and oti's showdance a day or two ago and now danny and oti's showdance still has more views yet this is trending, just like the eastenders christmas which was tending with only a few views I guess the bbc are promoting it or something trying to get views
who cares. sometimes the best books don't sell as much as the crap holiday reads, sometimes the best music doesn't get noticed until the musician is gone from us, sometimes the best movies go unnoticed at the cinema while 'blockbusters' rake in billions. My point is what gets the most attention/most views doesn't mean a jot in terms of quality. For me, Ore's Showdance was much much much more enjoyable and followed a structure whereas Danny's was a lot of angst ridden fist bumping and hand wailing. I LOVD his Samaba and such a shame about that Quickstep but his show dance was no way as good as this.
Absolutely HATE when they don't include the Judges comments. The voice and BGT leave their videos with the Judges comments in.....why not here?.......and NO, I'm NOT paying to see them. If other companies can do it, then so can the biggest broadcasting company in Britain...!!!

what the hell are you on ? I loved Danny's Paso/Quickstep/Samba and Salsa. He was a deserving winner in his own right. But the fact is he has MASSES of experience in the performance arts. All i said was the truth that Ore had no experience of this kind- and I BELIEVE that is what the show is all about, taking non-dancers and turning them into dancers. People were fooled by the props, there's not much dance content here unlike Danny's show dance.

This was actually the only showdance that I personally don't think was covered up by lifts or props. Danny's showdance was great but you could argue that there wasn't dance content their either as they just jumped to eachother through a mirror going by your argument.
Not true at all there's a lot of dance content in there. Fosse inspired jazz, tap, swing, charleston, quickstep, tango and even viennese waltz. It actually was less about lifts and props and more about dance which is a rarity in showdances on this show these days.
Danny did have more content, but, to quote a song from the same era, it ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it.

If Danny had done this show dance they would have been disappointed in him and len would say that yes he could ask for dancing and more 'show' and also if ore did Danny's showdance he would of crashed and burned and never even come close to Danny's standard! Danny was the favourite, yes, but you have to realise that about 10 million people watched the show and not all of them had Danny as their favourite.

Holly Davis well, clearly he wasn't the better dancer in the final since Ore scored the highest AND won the popular vote. Yes, Danny is a great dancer - but he was since week 1, likely due to the fact HE HAS A MUSICAL THEATRE BACKGROUND. The spirit of strictly is teaching celebrities how to dance and by the end, Ore was objectively the better dancer.
There really is no doubt that Ore deserved to be in the final, indeed despite Louise being consistently better throughout the series, Ore did definitely dance a lot better than her in the final dances, so it came down to two, Ore and Dan.
I rated them as exactly level so it did come down to the public vote, which Ore won a few weeks ago, by all his constant crying like a girl. it got the women votes and at a guess i would say about 90% are women voters, and a man crying is always going to get female sympathy whereas i was reaching for the bucket, and just wanted to slap him into manning-up and stop bawling at EVERY opportunity, I don't even think the tears were genuine, all part of an act and he was playing his game. Of course no conspiracy was with the voting system or even to suggest strictly was rigged would be absurd, despite earlier in the series, the press, TV , media, web were all rife with all the black celebs being voted out, strictly was racist!! so they left one black person in just to prove the racist chants wrong.
Then on the final night, did anyone else spot the plot,?? when the judges picked out ore's first dance- they said they picked that dance because it was his best dance, and they wanted to see him improve on it, yet Louise and dans dances were picked by the judges because they were their lowest scoring dances. mmmmm go figure

Yes everyone is entitled to express their opinion, that's what forum sections are all about and that's what makes them enjoyable, but it's a shame when the opinions are expressed that are simply not true.
I've watched that dance again after reading your comment, just to see if I've missed something, but I really can't find a single section of the dance where Joanne is dancing her socks off while Ore just makes strange faces to the camera.
Looking at the dance overall, both are dancing in equal measure, and dancing superbly (this is the kind of showdance I enjoy).
Perhaps you can state a timestamp to a 10 second segment in this video that highlights your claim? :-)

Well everyone has their own opinion I guess. I think Ore is a gorgeous man and he can certainly dance. But I just don't love Jo's choreography. It's too disjointed and never tells a story that I can get involved with. This didn't work for me. But he danced it well.

For me, this is what a Strictly show dance should be, where it is fun, entertaining, daring and yet skillfully and brilliantly danced. Hence it was one of the most memorable show dances for me.
Danny made uncharacteristic errors in the final, whereas Ore had stepped up a gear since the semi-finals and was near faultless in the final, therefore Ore deserved to win (he performed best on the night it mattered).
Personally (and I know many Danny fans will disagree) but his Samba was not a dance I enjoyed (but superbly danced just the same), I much preferred Danny's Charleston and think that would have gone down better in the final, especially with the public vote.

Without doubt, Ore is the most overrated, overmarked contestant the show has ever seen. Clear bias towards him throughout the series from three of the four judges, receiving tens from them on many occasion despite clear mistakes and flaws in technique. 39 for that crap Argentine tango? Three tens for his Viennese waltz at Blackpool despite criticism from two of the judges? And the fact that this contentless showdance received the same score as Danny's. I could go on. Clearly fixed for him to win from the very beginning, disgusting from the judges the way they have thrown tens at him willy nilly yet undermarked others constantly.
Ore's average judges score was actually less than both Danny and Louise, which craps all over your claim of judges favouritism. No need for the sour grapes.
In what way does that at all disprove my claims of favourtism? Ore was week in week out given tens for dances that were not worthy of them and small mistakes were often ignored by the judges, whereas danny was criticised constantly for 'errors' that didnt exist. ie Darceys comments on his american smooth about a dodgy lift, but her failure to acknowledge that ore lost balance in his argentine tango moments later

Please provide us with your breakdown of the scores for all the contestants who have ever participated on Strictly and hence where you believe they were overmarked or undermarked.
The last time I checked, the final vote is made by the public, and for this series the majority of the public voted for Ore to win, hence he won fair and square. Get over it.
Fair enough, I should have said 'in my opinion' instead of 'without doubt', but the fact remains that he received the same or better scores for dances that simply were not as good as Danny's. His Argentine tango, paso Doble, quickstep, rumba, American smooth and showdance all equalled or bettered Danny's scores for the same dances, despite clearly being nowhere near as good. He also received two nines for a Charleston that had no swivel and a failed lift and got three tens for his Viennese waltz in spite of criticism from two of the judges. The judges convinced people to vote for him through constant over marking and always repeating the fact that he had never danced before. If this isn't viewed as favouritism I don't know what is.
You see though, you could make this argument for any couple.
Danny was overmarked in his:
Charleston, where he missed a kick on the table section and was out-of-sync numerous times. Probably deserved a 9 if you felt generous.
Quickstep in the final, where his frame was really bad (elbows too low) and that terrible mistake, not to mention he was out of time on that first promenade. Deserved a 7 really.
Salsa, where he lacked hip action! When Ore lacked the figure-8, the judges gave him 7's and 8's whilst Danny got pure 9's! Not to mention the lifts were dodgy. Deserved an 8.
Tango, where his frame was strange and the dance just didn't work. 8 or 9 at best.
Jive, where he was flat footed sometimes. Still deserved a 9 because he did some cool split things.
Foxtrot, where he did numerous mistaked which he never recovered from. 6.
You could say that his showdance was out-of-sync sometimes, but the camera angle wasn't good enough for me to be sure of that so I don't know.
Ore's AT was overmarked, I'll give you that - but the AT's are choreographed by external choreographers so it wasn't Ore nor Joanne's fault that he was just standing there. I think the way it works is it's choreographed with no information about the couple so for all we know, Danny might have been given Ore's AT and vice versa.
Ore's Paso Doble was amazing, spanish lining was spot on, I saw no error. People say that he lost his way but I didn't spot anything.
Ore's Quickstep also had no issue, apart from slight gapping. Still much better than Danny's QS in the final.
Ore's Rumba was as good as Danny's and deserved the marks it got. It did bore me, though.
Ore's AS in the final was not overmarked at all and I would love you to tell me how it was as from my angle it was utterly perfection.
Ore's showdance was of a similar calibre, nothing went wrong despite there being many opportunities to do so and it was the only showdance ever to contain a lot of dancing, since most showdances are just covered up by lifts and weird contemporary styles.
Ore's Charleston was overmarked, yep.
Now, Ore's VW is an interesting one as it was perfect apart from that fleckle. His posture wasn't great at the end of it, but I highly doubt anybody would be able to hold that fleckle in that position. Maybe overmarked slightly, but it was spot on apart from that!
So, to conclude, I think Danny has been overmarked more.
No Danny and Oti should have wont his wasn't nearly as innovative or exciting as their showdance was JMO
