There are those of us who hold on to the old ways, but we are diminishing. Self-sufficiency, sustainability, stewardship of the sacred landscape, these are Vermont ideals that need to be protected. It's vital for people to hold onto their heritage, to hold onto their traditions, so they don't simply become an old recipe in a book while we move closer to a dystopian, homogenized consumer culture.

Mary, you should look into getting one of the spiral dough hooks for your kitchenaid mixer. That’s all they sell with the bowl lift models now and they work SO MUCH BETTER than the c-shaped ones that they used to sell. You might need to ask KA customer service which one would fit your machine but it’ll definitely be worth it!
