IMPORTANT!! We did this week in the wrong order! This video is actually #2! Sorry about that to our lovely donor M! So just keep in mind this week is in reverse haha but number 3 is is still number 3!! woo! got one of em right!
To be clear this is a full on Whitney Houston concert and it's one of her very best. Welcome Home Heros is a tribute to the troops but it's JUST her- she did a full length concert for the troops that returned home from Desert Storm! It's before The Bodyguard so those song won be featured but it's a peak time for her voice --in your own time I highly recommend checking this concert out!!
Whitney's Welcome Home Heroes special was really great. The "All The Man That I Need" performance from the special is so great and definitely worth reacting to at some point.
@GalaxyNexus1 Opposed? What exactly are you asking? I'm specifically referencing Gary, Whitney's brother and added that he was biologically her brother because they have the same mother. If he were her adopted brother or step brother, I would have mentioned that also. But he is not. I was sharing information. So what's the problem?
The commentary on her brother’s voice was interesting. They were basically saying that his voice was great, but next to Whitney’s it doesn’t sound great. I wonder how many times he dealt with that perspective growing up. I’m sure Gary probably often felt like he wasn’t good enough.
Shoutout to you guys for bringing up the musical director because it’s a future legend Ricky Minor (the bass player you guys were hearing in the previous vid). He went on to be the director on American Idol and Leno. This is also shaping up to be a pretty decent Top 5. Hopefully they have “All the Man I Need” which she slides into right after this performance and the molecules in the room change. 😂
I have to say that the crack in Whitney's voice does play a huge part in how perfect and raw it sounds, when she cracks it doesn't give off the "oh no she cracked" but instead it brings more amazement
The other 3 parts HAVE to be these ones, they're her most iconic performances: 3. The Greatest Love of All Live for Arista Records 2. All The Man That I Need Live for HBO Welcome Home Heroes 1. the Star Spangled Banner for Superbowl 1991 OBVIOUSLY
If y’all have never watched Cinderella with Whitney and Brandi… gosh I need y’all to react to “Impossible / It’s Possible.” from that movie. That’s when I found out Auntie Whitney is a legend! 😮💨🔥🔥
This is definitely a Whitney Houston Concert! She's entertaining the Troops returning from the Gulf War. It's her first televised TV Special. You really gotta watch the whole Concert. And yes.. Its on TH-cam. A MUST see is her doing "All the Man Need" and " A Song For You!" These two performances are Better than the Medley you guys showed! Don't take my word for it... check it out! Mike C. Clarksville VA
The songs are: * Didn’t We Almost Have It All (a ballad from Whitney 1987 album that went to #1) * A House is not a Home (1960s legendary Burt Bacharach song, sung by her relative Dionne Warwick, and covered by her dear friend Luther Vandross) * Where Do Broken Hearts Go (another #1 song and ballad from Whitney album)
Hello guys, I just stumbled onto your videos and thing they are great! Hi not sure if anyone has posted this, but this was filmed in an airplane hangar on a military base - that's why people are "stacked" on the sides. When Whitney sang the National Anthem at the Superbowl in 1991, she did such an amazing job, she was asked to do a performance for the military. It was broadcast live to all US military installations around the world. I was in the NAVY and stationed in Bermuda at the time. I remember talking to my Mom as we watched it together. She was at home in small town, Fulton, NY watching on a huge home satellite dish. ( they were popular back then). It was awesome to think we were so far apart, but watching the same thing at the same time. Whitney Houston was the first concert I ever went to - 1987 - New York State Fair, in Syracuse. I have always been a huge fan. So sad what happened to her.
As many have stated, "All the Man That I Need" and "A Song for You" from this same broadcast are awesome. Plus the "Loverman, oh Where can You Be" medley from the Billboard music awards (circa 1993?). And I nominate "Abraham, Martin, and John" from the Classic Whitney special (1997?).
This concert was an hbo special, so there’s a good chance it is available on dvd or something. You can also watch it on yt if you can’t find anywhere that has it for sale.
You really should have done the next song..." All the Man I Need!" It's EPIC!!! Next from the same concert...check out her singing Donny Hathaway's " A Song for You" This one will Blow Your Mind when she shows you what she can Really Do with her voice! Super Epic!!!
One of the songs in the medley was a Luther (Vandross if it's necessary to state that) tune, so I hope he's going to get a week because, really??? But hooray that you're doing The Voice 👍🏾😊👏🏾
Those are the marines in the cages on the stage these were huge number 1s part of her record 7numbwr 1s back to back still in beaten! Thats her brother singing! He can sing. Ricky minor was the MD she had him for most of all her career and all her concerts this was a Whitney concert, it was her first HBO special concert of 3 she did! Her concerts were specials for HBO with a theme but it was a concert she had the biggest ratings at the time as well! Look at her HBO South Africa concert and her bodyguard tour radio city music hall and Argentina and Brazil!
That Guy singer is Whitney Houston's Brother Gary! And he can actually sing his ass off!!! In fact In the beginning of her career, they sang a lot of songs together in her live shows! I can't believe you guys criticized him on this Luther Vandross song she spliced into her own song in which Gary sang it Perfectly the was Luther did. You guys always are critical especially when you're not aware of what's going on! Or you don't know the song. That's not fair.😮
The guy is Whitney’s brother Gary. If you think he has a weak voice you should go check out him singing Wonderful Counselor with Whitney and their mother Cissy. He doesn’t play any instruments, he was her background singer for years. He actually has a very good voice.
@@LucidKay9114 that’s why I said what I said. When you listen to him singing alongside Whitney he’s actually not weak compared to her. He’s not as great as Whitney but then again who is? But he did a very good job in that performance
@@LucidKay9114 No I don’t. I understood what he said and I said what I said. Gary isn’t a weak vocalist compared to Whitney. He actually could stand toe to toe with Whitney in some areas-like when they did the live duet of Nobody Loves Me Like You…and as I said when they all 3 sang Wonderful Counselor live. That’s why he was Whitney’s background singer for years. You and these guys took a small clip of him singing and labelled him as weak when neither of you know his true talent. Again Whitney is the greatest..he couldn’t compare either her overall voice but he isn’t that weak as was stated.

Her charisma is worth noting in this performance. The way she effortlessly flirts with the audience. She’s giving it and they’re giving it back.
This is the best Whitney concert they ever captured on film.
Whitney's Welcome Home Heroes special was really great. The "All The Man That I Need" performance from the special is so great and definitely worth reacting to at some point.
The man singing background is Whitney Houstons biological brother Gary. He sang background for years with his sister.
As opposed to her adopted brother? 🤔

the best Whitney live for me is her performance at the Free Nelson Mandela concert with her mother on stage with her

You guys should definitely react to “All The Man That I Need” from the Welcome Home Heroes concert! that’s a real iconic performance/moment.
She is BEAU TI FULL!!!!

Hi Guys,
The male singer is Gary, Whitney"s brother who did back up singing for her, along with some others
Well yes this was specifically for the troops but it was also a full concert filmed for HBO. This was just after her superbowl National Anthem.
That guy singing back up is actually Whitney Houston’s brother Gary!!!
The dude you guys are talking about singing in the background is her brother Gary Garland

YES! One of my top favs
My fav song that she performs in this set was not included!!!!! Her "All the Man That I Need" performance is incredible!!!
It’s still so hard to watch Whitney perform. 😔😩
It used to be hard for me too. The more I watch, it doesn't make me sad it makes me grateful for what she left us. 🙏🏽🤍 🎶
It's an airport hanger on the Norfolk Base, in Virginia.
She performed for the troops here for free. She really wanted to celebrate them and welcome them home.
She was paid but she gave her earnings to charity for military families like she did with her profits from The National Anthem
❤❤❤❤❤
The male voice that cane on is Whitney's brother
One of the songs in the medley was a Luther (Vandross if it's necessary to state that) tune, so I hope he's going to get a week because, really??? But hooray that you're doing The Voice 👍🏾😊👏🏾
