Tis the most wonderful time of the year! Absolutely a brilliant idea that I will share with my friends. Thank you for sharing your creative self. Hugs and blessings, ❤️🤗🇨🇦🎄
What a fun way to make and display snippet rolls! And I so love the sewing over everything…even the paper dolls! Gives it so much dimension! Can’t wait to try and make your lacy, soft project!
Love your snippet roll. I think the sewing over things is great. 😊. Such a cool idea. I may need to make a strip and work on it during the month of December.
I like how you sewed the strips. It makes it look like you want it that way, and it doesn't leave a space in your head saying that you may have to attend to some rule. It's perfect!
I like that style of sewing for a snippet roll. I'm not sure if I would care for it in other, larger projects, but for this it seems perfect. It adds texture while serving a practical purpose. I like the use of the neutral colored thread.
This was so much fun to watch. I can’t wait to get started on one of my own. I thought the sewing looked great and provided lots of interest. I thought I might use a stick from nature to wind my snippet roll around. Growing up my sister and I always had an advent calendar. Thank you, Luise, for bringing back fond memories for me. 💜💜💜
Dear Luise, I'm an old lady who appreciate Advent Calendar since my childhood. Nowadays I'm trying do make it to my daughter's family and my grandson. Many try ones till today....not The satisfaction one yet! I loved the project and the junk journal style, but for adults. I think I'll try to make something more "playful" . And for my own snippet roll, I'd use buttons to mark the day OR as embellishment, it was a bit of confusion for me to see them on both places...... maybe having rolled messages or quotes (drawn from the pot) to pin for each day...... my head is spinning with ideas now. Thank so much for the inspiration!!!! You are a real Pandora Box, full of surprises!!!!
I think sewing through the elements is unique. I would end up using black thread even. I would also grunge out more with distresses crayons, sprays, etc
This is adorable and so creative! I was literally just saying to my hubby that I wanted to make an advent calendar and then saw your video pop up! I would never have thought of a snippet roll though and brilliant to add buttons an use it later on...thank you for this creative fun project!
I like the sewing on the snippet roll, it doesn't bother me that it goes through the people or butterflies etc. I had to rewind the end bit to see the finished rolls because the first time, I was too busy looking at your gorgeous cabinets and shelves 😂
I think :it’s okay to sew over decorations like you did. I like having the option of using little Christmasy pieces with the bulb pins, since they’re easily removable. Cute and unique Adventure calendar, Luise.
Ohhh Love these dear and they look great for decorations as well around the house , when you going to do a craft room show now that it is all togeather would love to see it 😃💖💖💖 love how you put together the snippets so creative.
What a creative idea! Ummm, stitching across the paper dolls...would they easily tear apart? I will say the "outro" makes me want to ask...did I miss the video of your "finished" craft room after all the construction? I would love to see a tour of how you set it up... especially how you managed with the sloped walls!! Getting excited for the start of Dephemerember!! 😄
It's a great idea but are you supposed to add the stuff day by day to make it fuller as you started off or just make it all now? I happen to have a bunch of long lace in all different widths so going to make it. Thx
I’m not too clear on this either. At first I thought you make it all now then snip it off and use it one day at a time in December. But then I thought you make it now and attach the button and other things daily and keep the roll intact to display. I guess there are no rules, really!
I do like the sewing over the snippets and paper dolls. 😊

Personally I think sewing in this manner on the fabric snippet is perfect because it looks like you are quilting.
What a fun way to make and display snippet rolls! And I so love the sewing over everything…even the paper dolls! Gives it so much dimension! Can’t wait to try and make your lacy, soft project!
I think the sewing looks good and adds a lot to the whole roll

I think this is a great idea for celebrating the holidays. What a great way to remember to take a little time for yourself everyday!

FYI: The actual liturgical (church) colors for Advent are blue or purple, with white for Christmas Eve and red for Christmas Day. For what it's worth.
Very nice idea. Do I understand in December you only put the buttons on it?
Was that the first installment of the new apartment tour 🤔 or did I miss that video? 😢
❤

What size was the fabric?
