Fun fact: This story about her previous idol group is anime original. It's not in the Manga. In my opinion the studio really cooked this series. They made ALL the arcs have more meaning than the manga. Kanon's Arc in the manga did not hit as much as in the Anime and the same apply to some of the girls too.
