    The way you painted up that regular warrior and made him into a captain blew me away. Really impressive how much he stands out purely with a paint job, no special base, no unique pose, just paints. Kind of has me thinking it would be cool to participate in a big Battle Companies campaign and do what you did with that captain, progressively bling out your guys more and more every time they do something noteworthy on the battlefield. Really awesome video.

    • @SwordsandBrushes
      @SwordsandBrushes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That would be such a good idea!
      You could do something with wargear as the campaign goes on but also amend the paint job too - which would make an awesome and unique story for the individual miniatures as you play more games :)
      I have some notes for a follow up video on these chaps which will be later down the line, as Minas Tirith was my Christmas onwards army, but with the new release of the box set - i'm bringing that forward a touch! :):)

    You have easily become my favourite miniatures channel. Your videos are very well put together, all the information you provide is super helpful, well articulated and at an easy to follow pace. The editing is great too.

      And on top of that, I really love painting minis and making videos so it's a win win really haha!
      Is there anything that you would like to see on the channel in the future? :):)

      @@SwordsandBrushes I was desperate to find a video on horses AND one for cloaks and you've nailed those so I'm kind of stumped on what to see next.
      Your video on the Army of the dead was really cool, I liked the non-box art approach to the army as it looked kick ass! Something I might say would be really cool to see would be doing free-hand techniques. I'm hopeless with it anyway as my hand shakes too much but it would be cool to see the amazing banners you can come up with

    Although you gave the first miniature more time, the second I like more. I like the Drybrush-Technique, cus it brings a Battleworn-Look to the miniature. I like it a lot, as I like it in the films!

    • @SwordsandBrushes
      @SwordsandBrushes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Glad to see that you like the second style, and totally agree it has that battle worn look to them :)
      Well I do like to show a couple different ways just to fit as much as I can into these videos :)
      I have a plan for the second technique but I’m going to need a lot of troops for it.
      I may have to do a Gondor calls for aid, and see if anyone would be willing to kindly donate some unwanted and unloved unpainted troops!

      Thank you kindly! I just finished another batch and have about 15 to go in the backlog of wonders :)
      The annoying thing is, after i upgraded the Captain to have that wooden shield, I decided to do it for the rest of my troops haha
      I like to do the first method, but i have an idea for what i will do with the second method - but i think i'm going to need a lot of troops for it!
      Good question, i have a 'to do list' which I select from - Ive narrowed it down for the next video to be either... Morannon Orcs, Elves, Ents, the next Fellowship member, a Fellbeast or Rangers - i think i'm going to need to roll a dice! haha

    • @SwordsandBrushes
      @SwordsandBrushes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      oh fantastic news, welcome back! :) How come the long break?
      There are a variety of starter paint sets as well as larger sets out there. For me and these videos i use Army painter and they have quite a number of sets to get you going.
      Depending on price, something like the "Wargames stater set" is great as it has a few colours and a brush.
      amzn.to/3XTO4BG
      And also a larger set the "Mega paint set" which has a lot more paints in there
      amzn.to/3Ds0E2G
      (looks like this is on offer at the moment too - so great value!)
      Hope that helps a bit! :):)
