Thx for this nice review .I have bought the Boss Waza model.I like the dark trails and buffer in it. The other nice ones is the Malekko models but not featured here. The Boss did it for me and on my pedalboard now.I like your work.
The boss delay sounded muffled and the trail was not as defined. Seymour Duncan delay was nice and warm. Supa Puss does it all and sounded the best. brigadier sounded digital, which it's supposed to, but I prefer an analogue digital. It had so long trails though. I wasn't too impressed with the Memory Boy and expected more from all the knobs. I think overall Supa Puss won.
I dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot my password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me!
@Jaxton Gunner Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Maxon AD9 pro or AD999pro are my fave analog delays. I do like the Deluxe Memory Boy, especially with the subdivisions, tap, and effects loop features.
@@adamellison2497 Lol well you can always get another. They're not so expensive. I'm using the Maxon and the Supa Puss these days. Nemesis delay for digital "mega" delay, but nothing beats *real* analog.
@@pedromartinazzo5036 I've owned almost every digital delay that claims to have the ability to cop analog delay sounds, including a Timeline that I bought on release and sold within a couple months. I wasn't surprised it couldn't sound like an analog delay, and that's not why I sold it. I sold it because the Tape Delay section sounds like neutered garbage compared to their own El Capistan, which doesn't exactly cop a tape delay sound itself, but sounds great nonetheless. The least Strymon could do for customers shelling out for their flagship delay, would be to include exact copies of their lesser delays. Instead, Strymon got greedy and wanted to make sure El Cap remained on the "want list" for Timeline owners whom had used an El Cap before. On top of that, the Timeline sounds dull and has no ability to pull of hifi digital 80's delay either. The thing is a no-win, middle-of-the-road compromise, and I hated it! Analog delays I own: Boss DM-2w, AD999, AD900, Tonal Recall RKM, Moog 104m, Moog 104m SD, Endangered Audio 4096 Mk II, Meet Maude, DMM TT1100 Panasonic, DMM original, Xvive Memory Delay, and a DOD Rubberneck. I've never heard a digital emulation that gets any aspect beyond EQ to sound at all like any analog delay. When it comes to digital emulation the decay is always all wrong, as well as the general character of the repeats and the effect of the level of filtration involved, which differs from one analog delay to the next. My opinion is just another opinion, but it's based on a lot of experience. Either way, I think an "analog delay shootout" should only feature analog delays.
@@Splentaur Meet Maude has a very narrow list to apply? Isnt it? Bought Supa Puss for dirty background and have el capistan, but want something "special" for several tracks

Memory Boy Deluxe has a hidden high pass filter. Hold down 'Tap' and adjust 'Rate'.
No other Memory Boy or Memory Man has such a feature?
@@saintjabroni I Don't know. But I Remembered slightly Wrong. It's the 'exp' button you have to hold down for a few seconds and not the tap, sorry.
@@nym053 Thanks for your informed response.
@@saintjabroni You're Welcome.
I did look up the manual for the Memory Man Deluxe, but it didn't mention anything.

Matt Gilbert I got rid of my deluxe memory boy not knowing what I had. It did so much stuff 😢

why feature a digital delay in an analog shootout?
because it's meant to emulate analog delay pedals and it does it's job very well
@@pedromartinazzo5036 no digital delay sounds analog, especially not a Strymon.
@@Splentaur I've bought this pedal about 3 months ago and i must say it can sound pretty damn close to the analog delay I've built
