The Nocqua battery pack is a beast and the company is great. I purchased one a few years ago and my original dual USB adaptor stopped working. I contacted the company and told them the issue I was having and they immediately sent me an updated adaptor. Great review.
I’ve had mine for years and love it. I have even moved it from my ascend, to my Hobie Passport and now it is in my 2021 Hobie Outback. The battery is an easy install, durable and reliable.
I don’t always run my ff. It’s set up on a switchblade for easy removal/install. When i do use it, my nocqua 10 sits in the side pocket of my predator pdl, along with the excess transducer wire. It’s one of the things that made me fall in love with that yak...so many options to situate it for your own personal preferences. What OT missed, you’ve filled in the gaps with the 3D printer. It’s a beautiful thing. Love that yak!
best battery video I have seen yet. This was three years ago, do you still feel the same way? Do they get hot when using or charging? Do they need well-ventilated area? Get two 10s or one 20?
The battery in that video is still going strong. We now offer them on our website. Two tens is a great option if you plan to power to different objects in two different areas. If you just want more power for a fish finder the 20AH is a monster. I have a 20AH sitting under the seat of my kayak right now power a Garmin fish finder and livescope. I’ve never had any heat issues ever.
@@NavarreKayakFishing ..my FIRST EVER kayak comes in in a couple weeks. I have been fishing serious for 8-9 years both by boat and land crabbing. I want to start doing this TH-cam channel thing, albeit a little late to the game. I hate buying things and sending them back, if you know what I mean. I have seen great stuff about Nocqua. I have a Lowrance Elite 9-Ti, and I have two go pro cameras. fish from 3-8 hours at a time.. is 10 enough you think? Or go 20 AH? Is your link in the comments below?
@@NavarreKayakFishing ..thanks for all your help.. I have liked, subscribed and clicked the bell for notices... thanks again!! I will watching a bunch of your videos to push you up in the algorithms!!!
I'm sold. I have a Garmin Vivid SV9 sitting in a box I have yet to even put on my Sportsman 106 because I could not decide on a battery. Well here we go! Also, do you have any DIY rudder videos? I'm still making my way through your videos.
If you purchased the 4" version the 4.4AH version is plenty but the majority buy the 10AH so you can upgrade fish finders or power additional items like lights and charge your phone/gopro.
one thing I do w/ my PDL battery bag is unstrap it and turn it over, so it hangs 'on' the straps rather than hang on the stitching plus it sucks the battery up higher saving space
When I used it for a battery I would just loosen the straps until the bag laid on the bottom of the kayak. The straps just stopped it from sliding back and forth but didn’t support the weight.
Hey! Can you transducer read 300 feet and deeper? Mine seems to lose depth readings at 250 feet when it's supposed to read 900 feet in salt water in my kayak. I use Striker 4 vivid 4cv with its default Garmin GT20-TM transducer with the nocqua 10AH battery kit.
I'm looking into the exact same setup. I do a bunch of kayak fishing on creeks and rivers for smallmouth. My typical trip is 6-8 hours. How has your battery held up throughout the day while running your FF?
Sold me, I just bought one. Waiting for that and my fish finder to come in. What kind of connectors or wiring will I need to connect the fish finder power chord to this battery. Sorry for the ignorant question, a little new to all this.
Have used Noqua for a few years now - still same two I carry. They make a USB charging piece you can take to charge electronics too. I have killed my batts and recharged them so many many times but they still hold up!?? Hope fishing’s been good
Pissed I can’t find these anywhere starting to looking into others.. I like the Dakota lithium power box but I don’t need all the features. Any other good alternatives ?
Nick, this was a really good video. I have a question....I have a new Humminbird Helix 7 and would like to operate it my home. I have it mounted in my kayak by a reputable dealership in DFW and they have done a superb job. However, I cannot find the answer I need to my above problem. I was under the impression I could simply purchase a new power cord, connect it to my charged Nocqua battery and "practice" on the simulation mode in my home. I am seeing that all of the power cords are lacking the female connecter and only have the two wires. Where can you get this connector and how do you connect it to the two wires. If you would like, I am happy to send you a picture. Thanks!
@@NavarreKayakFishing curious to where you spliced 1A fuse into wire harness. Did you splice into yak wire close to battery or put fuse at end of fish finder power cord closest to yak power speed connector
Honestly, I have skipped the fuse a few times over the years but the Garmin 94SV comes with a fuse built into the power cord so I didn’t have to add one.
The more amp hours the more run time. But as you increase the runtime the price also increases. I say buy biggest battery you can afford. The best batteries I would say are lithium-ion because they weigh half as much as a deep cycle SLA battery, and they last a lot longer, more reliable. The downside is they cost quite a bit more. And the cheapest option is the deep cycle SLA battery.
There is an Australian one called FPV that looks cool but more $$ like 200 bucks. One doi I’ll try one but my Noquas ain’t done me no wrong so no reason to at this point.
Ya, but I prefer the size of the Nocqua battery. I’ve seen a few of the FPV’s in person over the years but it’s way to expensive for powering a fish finder in my opinion.
Can't go wrong with Nocqua. I've had mine for 3 yrs and it still does the job like it did when I first bought it.
The Nocqua battery pack is a beast and the company is great. I purchased one a few years ago and my original dual USB adaptor stopped working. I contacted the company and told them the issue I was having and they immediately sent me an updated adaptor. Great review.
Thanks for watching, Scooter. That battery has served me well.

Agreed.
I got one today from Black Hall Outfitters. I wasn’t sure if it was a good battery but you just set my mind at ease. Thank you.

That sounds like a nice setup, Kathy. The ability to remove the fish finder and toss it on a different kayak has a ton of benefits.
I'm one of those guys that just throws it in the yak...under my seat to be exact. No issues yet. Love this thing!
I love mine. Got lucky when a local shop was moving locations and want to move as little inventory as possible. 70% off!
You can't beat that kind of deal!
Great battery even better customer service 👍

Can I run nav lights, and a depth finder on 1 noqua 10ah battery? Lights would be on VERY seldom.
You can. They make an splitter so you can attach both items.
Do these need a fuse wired in or it is fine going straight from the battery to my fish finder wiring?
I’ve done it both ways. Nocqua now makes a waterproof inline fuse that makes it quick and easy.

If you want to scan deeper then 300’ accurately you’re going to have to step up the unit quite a bit. You can also try change your frequencies.
I'm looking into the exact same setup. I do a bunch of kayak fishing on creeks and rivers for smallmouth. My typical trip is 6-8 hours. How has your battery held up throughout the day while running your FF?
I’ve powered a Garmin 94SV for well over 12 hours with the 10AH and I’ve powered the Garmin Striker 4 for five or more trips with the 10AH.
Would the 10ah be suitable for a 7" Garmin Echomap UHD2 75cv?
Yes, sir. It will power the 7” for 14+ hours without issue.
Hi Nick, with the Nocqua Pro Power Kit in your store....is there any-other wiring I will need to connect to Garmin Striker4? Tom
Between the Nocqua kit and the wires Garmin includes you will be good to go.

The fishing is always good!
What fish finder do u recommend? I just got a Topwater 106.
Garmin 73SV if you want side scan and a great unit.
what about Dakota lithium?
Big fan for powering a kayak with the trolling motor but for a fish finder this thing is hard to beat.
Pissed I can’t find these anywhere starting to looking into others.. I like the Dakota lithium power box but I don’t need all the features. Any other good alternatives ?
I don’t have a solid answer to the alternatives. All of the batteries work it’s just a matter of what will work best for you.
Lowrance and YakAttack has now put their name on this battery - found on Amazon

Can you buy an extra battery (for emergency) without having to get the whole kit?
I’ll see if we can get the batteries on the website.
Still out of stock, what are other options?
Lots of options. Dakota Lithuim, FPV. I’m shocked it’s still out of stock!
I just picked up an Elite 7 ti2, would you recommend this?
Been having to bring 2 SLA 9ah batteries to run my old HDS7 gen 2 all day as in 12-14hrs.
I would. I’ve used it to power 9” fish finders for 14 hours with zero issues.
Very nice review. You just sold a yakattack battery pack. I'd be hitting em up for some kick backs 😂
Ha!

@@NavarreKayakFishing thx man. I'm using a bird and they call for a 1 all fuse. Thinking I had better use it for warranty purposes. Tight lines
New to kayak fishing. So what kind of battery would you recommend for a trolling motor? I will definitely get this for a fish finder.
Trolling motor batteries aren’t my area of expertise. It seems like the FPV and Dakota Lithium make solid options.

2:24 God Bless You. 😁
No editing cuts around here. Lol. I fire from the hip!
How many hours would I get with the helix 7 mega g3n with this battery?
I can’t say the exact numbers but twelve hours shouldn’t be an issue.
How long does it take to charge the battery? I have used mine (just like the one you have) just a few times, it’s at 25%, doesn’t seem to be charging.
That’s interesting. Mine all charge fairly quickly. If you leave it plugged in over night is it charged?
Anybody know if this would fit a yak attack cell block?
Yep I need this bad boy too
It’s a quality option!
My Old Town PDL didn't come with a battery bag.. WTH Old Town??
Did you buy a Predator or a Topwater?
Topwater 120 PDL
Unfortunately, the Topwater series doesn’t have the battery bag.
It's all good. The Nocqua fits anywhere on my kayak real nice. Keep them vidoes rolling so I have something to watch while at work.
Will do. That battery really does fit anywhere!
🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻thanks for the advice
Thanks for watching!
When do we get the BEST gps coordinates!? 😂
😂 They are all located just over one mile south of the Navarre Beach fishing pier.
Guess I’ll camp out by the pier and follow out 🕵🏻♂️
I have the numbers to the reef clusters if you want them. I sent out an email with the coordinates to a ton of people last year.

Jake the corrosion protecting is by far my favorite part.
Jake it’s also 17 amp hours.
